  • One of my main transportation here in Thailand is this cute little beast. The Kaabo Mantis 8 Dual 800W (Not the Pro version). I purchased my Mantis 8 last August and since buying it, it has been a blast riding it. It has a surprising top speed for its size and price. The speed and performance haven't change since I bought it so I could personally recommend it to anyone who's looking for a very decent solid compact beast.
    Range test is coming :)
    I appreciate your time watching my video! Your like and subscribe will help my channel grow and create more videos like this, so thank you so much.

      Glad you like it man :)
      Which version are you getting? I suggest the biggest battery available. 24ah. The price is a bit higher though obviously, but better and more reliable. You could travel longer and after a year riding my Mantis 8, it's still like brand new. You won't regret choosing it man. Enjoy!

    My pro goes about 44mph on a straight and that’s with 2 people on it I weight 10 stone and the other person weighed 12 stone? Do you think it would’ve went faster with just me on it?

      Hey John!
      Thanks 😄
      Yeah, still works excellently! Like new. I use it almost everyday to work. And, I honestly think sometimes of selling my Nami Viper, because of this Mantis 8 🤣😂😁 And buy 2 more of it. 😅 No joke. Performance, range, build, set of turn signals and the weight. I mean you get all of that in a very reasonable price. Almost 8 months already to me and no decline of performance. You will love it more and more man. It's an amazing scooter and I actually think this is a perfect scooter. At least for me.
      I'm going to review it next month. 😄

    Hi, I have the same mantis 8 dual 800w. But I notice that when I'm only on a rear motor, my acceleration is very low. It starts very slowly. I can't accelerate more than 45 km. Is that right with you?

    • @scooterontravels6777
      @scooterontravels6777  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi @Ivan Mihaylov. Yes it's normal. I am currently 76kg. I could only get to 40 to 42km/h but starts very slow and needs clear longer road to get that speed. Gear 3 single motor mode.
      Activating the two motors or dual mode will give you the full power.
      And I'd suggest not to use single motor mode. it's not good for our controllers. If you're saving batteries for your travel, try using Gear 2 and 3 dual motors all the time and switch to Eco mode when you don't need the power and just chillin 😃

    I'm thinking of getting one. But I'm afraid of punctures. Have you had many ?

    • @scooterontravels6777
      @scooterontravels6777  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Robin, My Mantis 8 haven't got punctured because it has tubeless tires. That's one of the features I really like about it. and it's fun to ride. I sometimes think of selling my Nami Viper because of my Mantis 8. 😅
      I'll be doing my review of it, if you wanna know more about it, I recommend you watching RK9 Rides review. It might help you decide man.

    • @robinarden8877
      @robinarden8877 Před 2 lety +3

      Ron, many Mantis 8 owners have had punctures, (including RK9 Rides).
      I have watched a lot of videos of scooters on youtube over the past 2 or 3 years. These include Alien Rides, Wrong Way, ESG, Ben Fox, Electrek, Jimmy Chang, Jake Billing and many more.
      I have asked a few owners about punctures on M8 scooters. The main reason I am concerned about flats, is, I was an owner of a Dualtron Mini a couple of years ago. I got one flat tyre after another. It was a Nightmare.
      Looking at new scooters I noticed the recent price drop on the Dualtron Mini. One dealer was selling them for about £300 less than I paid for mine. I wrote him an email asking if he was getting any more in stock. (he had sold out). The reply was... No they will not be restocking, due to a lot of problems with punctures.
      I live upstairs in a flat, which means, I need a lowish weight scooter. (25 -27 kg max). Dual motor, not too pricey. Say 1,100 to £1,200. I have looked at many, and Kaabo stand out for me. (Top quality, well built). Especially the Mantis 8 Pro. Which has come down in price from £1,800 to .£1,170, (with 10% discount). An high quality, top brand scooter with more than a third off the price. How can you go wrong ? It's a no brainer really. I won't be buying until the end of April or sometime in May. But I think I've found just the scooter I need.🧐😎 🥸 🤩🥳

      @@robinarden8877 have you made a purchase on a scooter yet? I also want to buy a scooter but my concern is also the punctures. I wanted to buy a scooter where I can easily replace tires myself. I'm still not sure what I'm getting but at least the tech improves as I wait.
      I have been riding my bmx bike now for a year and I've had about 7 punctures and have had to patch the tube myself. That is why a scooter I can work on is important to me.

    Hi, so is this the regular "Kaabo Mantis 8" or is it the Pro Mantis 8?

    • @robinarden8877
      @robinarden8877 Před 2 lety +2

      This is the most popular one in the range. (The one which is usually sold out).
      It's the dual motor none pro version. (Middle of the Mantis 8 range)

    • @scooterontravels6777
      @scooterontravels6777  Před 2 lety

      Yes it is. Also others have dual 500w motor. Mine is dual 800w. The differences are maybe the speed and range. But I'll do my range test and review sooner so I could help.

    • @robinarden8877
      @robinarden8877 Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, I have seen those 500W dual motor M8s. However, I have never seen them advertised on the UK dealers websites. (Only on CZcams)
