- This Nautica wide-body was an awesome boat to clean and restore. it's not everyday you can get a dingy this bad and make it look this good. this rib boat is made of hypalon and that's one of the reasons why it cleans up so good.

That boat didn't scare me at all when you pulled up to it! I was like OMG what a gem!!! The big reveal would be though....HOW MUCH $$$ did you pay for the project! I'll tell you, the owner of a 2018 must have had a death wish for this boat to have allowed it to get to this state in such a short lifespan!!! NO RESPECT!!!

Alfred. Congratulations for the videos you made. They showed clarify a lot. Alfred. I have a pvc boat and all the holders became loose for the due date of the glue. Can you recommend me a glue that works with PVC? I tried using HH-66 but it didn't work with those items particularly. And Do I have to deflate the boat to glue the parts?
You would need to deflate the boat. On my channel I have a playlist that can show you how to do the repair. We stay away from PVC but some people have had pretty decent results with Clifton's glue

When you're done cleaning hypalon, do you add a protectant like Aerospace 303? Seems like it gets dirty faster the more I use degreaser (I'm using Spray Nine)

How do you find these boats?
What exactly did you use? Any degreaser for the tubes? Clorox for the rubrail ? What about the commercial rib cleaners, are they any good?

Peter in most cases hypalon is black or darker inside then the outside color.PVC is usually the same color as the outside tube.
Have you tried spraying straight bleach on the boat and then wash it off. Most of the discoloration looks like mold and nothing kills mold like bleach.

hello alfred ,,i just bought a 2008 BRIG 10.5 ft rib boat ,,can you tell me if this boat is pvc or hypalon ? also the tubes etc are in good shape but ,they have turned yellow on top ,,how ca n i clean them ,,love your show ,,good work ,,greetings from canada
Peter at this point it doesn't matter . The good news is that your a rib owner. Put some Clorox bleach on a small area and see what it does to the fabric. Rinse it very well once your done.

Have not done it personally but I don't think it will hurt the hypalon nevertheless I would still do a small section and rinse thoroughly
Lemon vinegar and borax powder. Then scrub away.
Clorox can on boulder boat eat way the glue.
Did you use the bleach on the inside and the tube or just for the rail

How much would it cost on average to repair something like this?
It all depends on what you do I use two bottles of Degreaser that's 10 bucks rust remover was 15 bucks Magic Eraser another five bucks and Clorox another 4 bucks. Figure less than 40 bucks for the cleaning I did. Patches if it had any would be about 300 bucks
