Ah, Montreal! Canada's second-largest city is a treasure trove of experiences, and there's never a dull moment with its vibrant neighborhoods like Downtown Montreal, Le Plateau, South West, Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Jean-Drapeau Park, and the iconic Old Montreal. But let's not get ahead of ourselves; let's start from the beginning-Old Montreal, or Vieux-Montreal if you're feeling a little Francophile today.
Kick off your day by grabbing breakfast at Le Petit Dep, an adorable café located on the oldest street in Montreal, Saint-Paul Street. The café, renowned for its charming aesthetics, serves coffee starting at $2.50, and sandwiches that range from $4 to $9. If you're one of those folks with a green thumb, you'll feel right at home at L'Orbite Café, a plant shop where you can sip your morning brew.

Le Plateau. A laid-back area brimming with cozy shops and restaurants, Le Plateau is the go-to spot for foodies. Kick off at Saint Louis Square before heading to Saint-Laurent Street, a bustling avenue known for its vibrant nightlife. As for food, the Foie Gras Benedict at Le Passe Compose is not to be missed. Speaking of Foie Gras, head over to Au Pied de Cochon for an outrageous maple butter donut filled with Foie Gras cream. If you thought Montreal was only known for Poutine, think again!
The Mile End district is another jewel in Montreal's crown, offering a bagel rivalry like no other between St. Viateur and Fairmont. After some extensive and delicious research, Fairmont bagels win the title, being slightly sweeter due to their honey water boiling technique. And guess what?
Downtown Montreal offers beautiful views from Kondiaronk Belvedere, amazing architecture at St. Joseph Oratory, and a smorgasbord of delicious food options like Sammi & Soupe Dumpling in Chinatown. When night falls, Saint-Crescent Street is your go-to place for vibrant nightlife.
For those wanting to venture a bit farther, the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district offers views from the Montreal Tower and interactive experiences in the Biodome and Botanical Gardens. Don't miss out on the Insectarium, the largest insect museum in North America, located right next to the Botanical Gardens.
Finally, if you're a Formula 1 fan, you won't want to miss Parc Jean-Drapeau, host to the annual F1 event in June. It's a heart-pounding experience to see cars zip by at speeds up to 330 km/h.

I'm blown away by how comprehensive and detailed your videos are. Amazing work!
Thank you so very very much. I am just surprised that CZcams is not promoting them lol 😅
@@Reformatt The dreaded CZcams algorithm. I’m not sure anyone knows how it works 😂
As a local this is this best Montreal guide I’ve ever seen! A lot of these places are my favourite spots to hit up in the city and to bring friends from out of town. If anyone is looking for an authentic Montreal experience approved by a local this video is the right place to start 😊
Wow thanks for your super nice comment. Montreal is such a fantastic city, and I look forward to visit again in the future.
I second that!
Our second trip to Montreal coming soon... very exciting 😊
You will have a blast. Thank you for watching
Thé Best vidéo of what to do in Montréal. ❤
Thank you so much!
MERCI! finally, someone who gets it... it's all about the cheese curds! Fromagerie Victoria (from Victoriaville, Qc) is the real deal. Anyone raving about Montreal's "poutine" sadly never had the pleasure of eating the real thing! :)
Wonderful video! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you for your honesty and actually showing some things suck or are overrated
Glad to see you're back!
Wow! Thanks Chris for the support! I truly appreciate it 🎉
Great that you are back!😊😊

@@Reformatt ofcourse 💯👍💪🌍
Will keep this video guide in mind if i ever visit montreal! You should also do a separate video for best poutine spots like you did for nightlife!
That is a good idea! Thank you! I will add it to the bucket list 😉
THE BEST GUIDE EVER!

Thank you so much. I appreciate it 🙏
Luckily, I already made one for Toronto: 30 Things to do in Toronto
However, the Vancouver video I made is quite outdated.
@@Reformatt You're welcome ❤️
Comment for algorithm. Keep doing what you are doing Matt
Thank you so much for the support!! I am going to really need it boxing my way back 🙏😅
Ohhh you missed (the happy Cat cafe - Le Chat l'heureux) and la Graine Brulee , and the coolest Thrift shop called EVA B , awesome video
Thanks for your feedback. I will add it to the next update
Bravo pour ce vlog
Thank you! Are you visiting Montreal soon?
Your video made me soooo hungry !
Btw, Fromagerie Victoria are cheese makers from Victoriaville. Over the years, they’ve opened up a chain of cheese store/restaurant combos province wide. You’re right about their cheese curds; they’re the best I’ve had so far.
I am so happy you tend to believe so too. It confirms I've done my research well during my 3 months stay 😉👍
Amazing Video, truly underrated YT channel.
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate it
@@Reformatt come on men how old are you 38 ? Right
i am going to montreal next sunday for a month and couldn't have been more thankful for a video in my life! can't wait! thank you so much dude!
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind comment. One month is excellent, most of this video was filmed within a 1-month timeframe. Also, don't forget my Montreal Nightlife Guide, for all the night time activities in Montreal.
Have a blast!!
Thank you! you don't happen to have any content on Ottawa/Quebec City, do you?@@Reformatt
@@AllenBoguslavsky not on those 2. Not yet
@@Reformatt I'll go and report back ;)
@@AllenBoguslavsky sounds good! Let met know about some cool spots
I live in Quebec City for my sanity, because it's really quiet and safe, BUT, I enjoy a 2 1/2 hour bus or train ride to Montreal when I feel like having fun...
I mean there IS stuff to do where I live, but compared to MTL, it's pretty tame. I wouldn't exchange it full-time, because I like nature, fishing and trekking, and the quick and easy access I have to that right here, but maybe a week per month in Montreal would be fun. Just not every month...
It's like Netflix. I get it for a month until I've binge-watched every new show I want to, and then I cancel my subscription... That is Montreal to me... Get your fill, then get OUT!!! Too much traffic, too many people, too much noise, too many sirens, too dirty in too many places, and too much BAD graffiti (I LOVE the murals and store facade graffiti, those are amazing, just not the stupid, talentless tags that are everywhere, those are just vandalism).
Montreal has taken a bad turn in the last few years. It's REALLY being mismanaged and not as clean or safe as it used to be. Ste-Catherine Street has been 1/2 closed for the last 4 years, and there are more and more condemned buildings with plywood windows... That is starting to be something called negligence, not management. It's STILL a great city, but less so every year.. Too bad, they invest a LOT of money, just not wisely. They could do so much better with the same funding, with more vision, planning, and structure...
As they say in French, "excellent"! 🙂
WOW! thanks for your nice comment :)
Oh wow hello again:o
hello hello, it is great to be back
nice mexico brother
Are you saying; I should do Mexico next?
Team Fairmount bagels! ❤
Oh yes! I joined the team
@@Reformatt You have to try with the best cream cheese out there, which is currently Arla. (It used to be Liberté but they stopped making it 😁). Or if you like stronger tastes, dip your warm bagel into taramosalata, baba ghannouj and hummus (alternating).
WOW, you can drink coffee and paddleboat in Montreal! What other city can you drink COFFEE IN? WHOA!
There is lots more to do than coffee in Montreal 😎 but I definitely wanted to highlight some solid places for a good start to your day when in Montreal.
Great round up. … a correction: it’s “Leonard Cohen”, not “Leon”. Also, I don’t think Victoria fromagerie has a resto in Montreal anymore. A good alternative is La Banquise on Rachel, open 24h. Expect lineups during peak hours.
Thank you for the feedback. Truly appreciated 👍. Regarding La Banquise, I tried it out and wasn't too impressed, a bit too greasy for my liking. Victoria has the better balance in my opinion.
Why is Montreal's underground not mentioned? In the winter, when it's cold and snowy, or on some too-hot summer days, Montreal has the largest air-conditioned underground shopping in the world (20 miles) downtown.
I wanted to focus on non-shopping attractions
do you have a vancouver one
I do, but it is ancient. Check my blog for the video
Sorry my friend but after 18 years living in Montreal is well known that the best poutine is at "Ma Poule Mouillée".
I always saw a huge line outside, have yet to try, but have you tried Fromagerie Victoria as well?
Don't recommend to go to #27, I worked there and ended up leaving because the place was infested with rats and mice everywhere (is downtown) to the point where you could find their poop everywhere even in the food preparation areas.
The resemblance to New Orleans is uncanny
Both French roots
Leanard not Leon
Thanks for the correction
Great job
but..,
Please dont call my man "Leon"
He's Leonard Cohen
No harm done
Keep on VLOGing
Awesome thanks for the feedback! I shall remember that for next time
*promosm* ☹️
You don't like Montreal?
These are my personal recommendations, non of it was paid promo
as a local, im certainly a hater for some of this stuff lol
Which parts in particular?
This city used to be fun.. now it's a woke paradise
Best thing to do is not go... use to live there... show us what it's like in February. Thank God I left.
Indeed, I agree the summer is better
In the winter, when it's cold and snowy, or in the too-hot summer days, Montreal has the largest air-conditioned underground city in the world (20 miles).
Hi.the video is grand but please try not to spend very much
Merci beaucoup! I tried to include as much as possible but it is up to you to pick your favorite spots ☺️
POUTINE IS PRONOUNCED POUTIN!!!!NOT POUTEEEEEEN
Thanks for the correction
