Both of you are two of the brightest people I've seen on CZcams. There will be little adjustments you will need to make but I know you will succeed. Try and save a little every month and it will slowly add up. I think there are online savings accounts that are available that will give you some interest on your saving too. You both know more about all of this than I do. I have a lot of respect for your family. Best of luck to both of you.

Good to see you two are doing well. You two did a good job describing the constraints and rationale behind your budgeting decisions especially with regard to time. Time is money. I myself have spent an crazy amount of time driving to and from work. Not only do you use a lot of gas but you also might get into an car accident. Generally you want to avoid that risk if you can.

Last time I was in Cebu, I rented a house in a gated village somewhere near Mabolo area (walking distance to the business park and some schools nearby). It was at about the same monthly rate, more than double the area of condos and a parking lot that I never got to use for months. I found it by walking around villages during weekends. I remember there were about 3 villages to choose from for me. I choose the one near the open soccer area church and nearby wet market. I'd probably do the same thing if assigned in Cebu again.

Exactly brother. Prices are too high.

@@RogerIsmiVlogs I guess I was lucky to be paying only 30K for a semi furnished gated house. Had to buy kitchen stuff but was easily able to sell it at half the price before I left. You can ask the Barangay Center for nearby gated villages.

Seems like a good budget. Your doing well...living below your means and saving is how you get ahead. Many in the US live at or above means despite making a good income.

IT Park condos are surprisingly expensive. They’re similar to western prices. It’s not at all what a lot of foreigners expect when they think about relocating there. I’m in Northern Cebu and I own a house with my wife, but we have also considered renting in Cebu (so my wife could work), but it doesn’t feel practical with the high costs. Our Electricity (CEBECO2) and food budgets (vegetables are pricey!) are almost the same as they were in Australia. I can certainly understand you must be feeling a lot of financial pressures and life stress. You’ll do great guys! You’ll be successful and so glad you were brave and strong for each other 🥰

Thank you two for all of your ideas, opinion and facts about your country!!!! I just visited Muntinlupa City from January 8 thru January 26 it was a wonderful experience. I love the area and the condo I was staying at was only 18 American dollars per day.

I think for Cebu City that is a very good budget for 6 people. I live 14kl from Ayala Mall, north and most of the time, it takes about 2 hrs to get there and sometimes even longer to get back. Spending 3 to 6 hrs in traffic is not fun.

You were right to consider how far you are from work. Commuting time should be a big consideration, many people spend 10-15 hours a week. For 2 people that's 20-30 hours of time. That should be valuable, either just in life, or even earning some money running a CZcams side business.

Housing, food, and utilities always come first. After that the kids needs. And, finally everything else. Budgeting is so important to have outlined. It's hard but you have to do it. Great success will come in due time. Small sacrifices lead to bring results.
