We told BMW that we were having trouble with our trunk and they said it’s $1600 for them to just take a look at the trunk interior. I tried this with a $25 part and it worked. Thanks!
Bro same here in Austria i will try this
Excellent! So simple and clear. Used it for my X1 to perfection. Shop wanted over $400 to do it. Part was $70 and it takes a few minutes. Thank you!
Thank you, I successfully changed my x1 button by watching your video. Thank you
Thanks for the detailed video! Just fixed my X1. The tail gate works like a charm now. :)
Quick and to the point with all the detail thank you!
On my e46 sedan button was not working, i opened the handle, sprayed fast drying contact cleaner, clicked multiple times and it's fixed. Thanks for showing. I will try to remove the plastic next time first.
Works perfectly on my 2011 5 series F10. Part cost $15 thru Amazon. Thanks!
Awesome instructions - THANKS!
Thanks for a detailed video 🙌
Great video and the end is also very revealing on what causes the problem... Thank you ! :-)
fixed my Beemer today with your help ty!
You got it out so easy as you had already snapped off the SIX retaining lugs. THANKS!
Doing it to my F10 this afternoon.
And why blank out AY12 XOX? That was more thick that snapping off the 6 retaining lugs and making the extraction look simple.
At least I know where to find the lugs, so a thumbs up for that piece of information, and your reg :-)
Its such an annoying problem, I am replacing mind finally because after 10 years, the rubber has melted :(. thanks for a great and easy video!

Any video on changing "door lock knobs?"
Is it the same process for e90 2007 bmw 325xi sedan ?
Thanks for preventing me from breaking my new handle.
I have a 318d se 2013 saloon. In my case I can't open from the key, boot lock or the unlock button inside the car. I can hear the click noise when I press the unlock on the key. What is likely to be the problem here?
If it doesn't work with key. I don't think it can be the same problem shown in video
Please help
Will that part number for non camera work on 2005 X3
My car dont respond to remote either.
And button dont wprk on handle.
Sounds like the lock opens on remote key.
All other doors works great.
Is still the handle broken for me?
Is there anyway to access the emergency release cable from there?
If you want to get working while you wait for a new one just run a bead of superglue along the crack in the rubber. Can be done without even removing if number plate in the way. Just got 2 working this way today.
Dankeschön Dankeschön
Great video! Would this work for my problem, I have a 2002 BMW 330Ci vert but the button on the trunk doesn't work and the button on my keyfob doesn't work also. Any insight?
Have you found the solution? I have the same problem since yesterday. Thanks.
@@abrahamalbion4234 I had to take apart the trunk liner where the emergency tools are and see if there is any damaged wires and since there wasn’t I then had to cut the tube where the wires pass through to inside the trunk and check the wires in there and that’s where my damaged wire was so then I cut the wire to have a clean cut and tied the wires together and put a protector over it so it stayed and then I put a protector over the tube so water doesn’t go into the wires and that fixed my issue
Tak isto sa to meni aj na verzii s kamerou?
Hi I own a BMW 320i F30. It's giving me hell this same nonsense . I will replacing that handle I hope that's the problem
Watching this because my friends BMW boot keeps opening on its own. Had damp in the boot so I reakon it`s damp in the switch.
Is he putting key in his pocket lol
Where can you buy that new one
If you want to get working while you wait for a new one just run a bead of superglue along the crack in the rubber. Can be done without even removing. Just got 2 working this way today.
Another piece of BMW garbage and my 09 X3 is not like that
