    Exquisitely beautiful portrayal of Mary by Alisa!

    Alisa Jung, by all accounts, did a magnificent job portraying Mary. She visited San Francisco and was photographed on the roof of SS Peter & Paul Church in North Beach. I am certain she was shocked when she saw the disarray of the Ignatius Press office which is a converted house on the edge of the U. of SF campus. Hopefully, they didn't do this interview AT that office, as organization ISN'T a standout feature of this office. I visited there twice, and to be fair, since then, maybe they have cleaned it up...but Ignatius Press does great work in an atmosphere of
    seeming disorganization. More power to them, and more power to this actress, Alisa Jung. I really do wish Ignatius Press had better digs than that humble house.

    Alissa was born in Münster Germany which is the Diocese of my Catholic ancestors. It is obvious that English is not her first language because she is struggling to find the right words. I would have liked to hear her interview in her native German language. She played a beautiful performance, and represented Our Blessed Mother as the soft feminine beauty that She is.

    Actually Mary M. did not see Jesus first. His mother said she did. She was staying w/ John and Peter and she was in the rm John gave her. She opened her eyes and the whole rm was lit up. Jesus was standing there & no longr was he the battered bruised & bloody son she last seen. He said she deserved to see him first b/c her faith was strongest but the Eternal Father had plans. Therefore he asked his mother to keep their visit to herself,

    • @onomanapua
      @onomanapua Před 9 lety +3

      Lee Lancaster it was from Marys own mouth. Mary has been leaving her heavenly home returning to earth since she left. She was advising the apostles & later requesting many
      Cathederals
      and churches built.

    • @lee9953

    I love the film. Watched it 2 times (so far). But in the interview, Anthony Ryan says that when, at the crucifixion, Jesus says to John, "this is your mother", I disagree with his interpretation of what was meant. I am certain that Jesus meant for John to take care of her as a son would his mother. There is on implication that He was saying that Mary was now the mother of all men as Anthony says.

      Bob Byerly The Church teaches that Mary is the Mother of all the Living.In her apparitions she introduces herself as our mother.

    • @antoinejeanjean4384
      @antoinejeanjean4384 Před 6 lety +2

      Bob Byerly If you meant that is it unlikely that Our Lord gave Mother Mary to all men and just to St John, Jesus I would argue never did things purely at face value and everything He said has meaning in endless ways and for all people for all time. A bit like His words to the rich young man to give away his possessions and follow Him...those words were indeed intended for him but for all of us too. It is now our choice to enter I to the dialogue. God bless.

      But Jesus calls Mary Woman twice - in Cana and on Golgotha. It means that Mary is a New Eve and Mother of all who are saved by Jesus. Mother of the Church. John isn't called John as well, but the beloved desciple. He represents all desciples then, now or in the future.

    • @eloishashalom1458
      @eloishashalom1458 Před 6 lety

      THE PROOF IS IN REAL HISTORY, THE WORD MAYA= MAIA= MARIA= MARY; REASON WHY THERE ARE MAYA CULT IN MEXICO AND THE MONTH MAY AND IN HER HONOR PEOPLE CELEBRATE "MOTHERS DAY" IN THAT MONTH , IN THE YIVRIT SCRIPTURES THE REAL WORD IS(Hebrew: מִרְיָם‬, Modern Miryam, Tiberian Miryiām) is a feminine given name recorded in ("Biblical") Hebrew TANACH. THIS YIVRIT NAME HAS A DEEP MEANING THERE FORE COMES FROM THE WORD ENDLESS OR ENORMOUS.(like the "great waters") "SHA-MAYIM"השמים. in ROMAN-GREEK, DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING GOOD! Maia, a Pleiad (daughter of Atlas), by whom he fathered Hermes. BESIDES DO YOU KNOW ALL HURRICANES,VOLCANOES, TORNADOES(DESTRUCTION) ARE NAMED AFTER A PEGAN IDOL?
