I'm a giver, but I do realise some people like me for it. It used to hurt when my giving was not reciprocated but since giving my life to Christ, I do it without expectation.

He mentioned a point about being discerning while you give and check with yourself on the source of your giving. If you have to set boundaries, do that. but don't stop. A giver can also say no sometimes and its okay.

I was watching this video during the day, and I'm also a person who believes in the spirit of gifting. Right now, I just prayed, and after praying, I randomly opened my bible and pointed a part to read with my eyes closed, and it was on Luke 21. Which was written as follows "Jesus looked round and saw rich people dropping their gifts in the temple treasury, and he also saw a very poor widow dropping in two little copper coins. He said,"I tell you that this poor widow put in more than all others. For the others offered their gifts from what they had to spare of their riches;but she, poor as she is,gave all she had to live on"

I have to agree with Ursula that Muslims bare tabola when it comes to giving but not only that, even prayer ,even being steadfast and standing up for our faith. I think there are many things as Christians we are very relaxed about on some “God knows my heart”.
I wish you guys could have a conversation around this one day. Just unpacking the different religions , their beliefs and practices and just why other religions are “better” at living out their beliefs than others.

After giving my youthful life to a church or maybe two churches because I thought or told this is what God called us or me to I now regret it. I should have like most people that age gone to university and studied. The problem is that the decision has proved to be detrimental to my current financial security or position. And I can't go to any one and claim I have devoted my youthful life to your church or Ministry. Finally I would advise young people to prioritize their education and not religion like me but being cognizant of the fact that in this two churches I have acquired some skills and/ or experience which I can use to map the way forward. And of course the bishop from SOWETO advised me being trained in a church setting is the best thing that can happen to any man hence I should appreciate or be great full for the experience it can be utilised to further God's kingdom but currently I doubt that

While she was out there enjoying life .My dad passed away while I was 14 She appeared for a while & went back to Gauteng .Leaving us to find our way Now older & all born again .She is exactly what we wished for while young .But nje I get triggered for months especially during Father's day month ,my dad's birthday & I completely go MIA on her despite knowing she depends on me .I think I need to go back to therapy 😢.I start thinking of days I would cook porridge, pit lemons & drink like a smoothie for dinner just to manage sleep coz when the tummy is empty one cant eat .Eish GOD help me

When we were growing, there were lots of ppl staying at house, some visiting and we were told it's relatives. My sister and I, used to slave around these ppl. One day i cooked, dished up for everyone and myself and went to take a bath. When I was ready to devour my food, my mom had given it to some township drunk, and from that day i stopped cooking.
When we went to varsity, my father struggling, at the same time, my brother, sister and i, all relatives disappeared. When we finished, with my brother being a doctor, they all came back.
I was so bitter, to date i refuse to help any relatives that didn't contribute anything to my life. I don't want visitors in my house, and i live in another province 4 hours away from family just to avoid these ppl.
So, these childhood experiences affect us differently.

When there are millions involved and there is no written constitution or law that has to be followed on how money is spent and zero accountability. We are working on the honour system lets just trust him and have faith in knowing he is a good guy. But good luck to him at least people were not tricked they gave willingly so they cannot complain one day when it comes out that not everything is as it seems. This might seem like a negative comment but my rule of thumb is when it's too good to be true it usually is not true. I might be wrong and a complete hater but I don't believe in good people who just do good for strangers there is always a catch unless you are Bill Gates and charity is a tax write off.

That's the sad part of what the world and its evil has done to us by making us believe that people who are Christ-like don't exist at all.
That's why even the Bible says in Matthew 6 that when we do good we must keep it discreet as much as we can so we can get our reward from God. And people who do good sincerely from their hearts do exist but the reason why you don't hear much about them so you can believe and know they exist is because evil is louder than what's righteous.
How do I know this is true? Because I know that Salvation is a REAL thing. Salvation can make your heart to be so tender and so soft that you even shock yourself.
