That's not just any green apple Jayden...that's a Granny Smith apple !! Named after my great great great Aunt who first grew them in Eastwood in Sydney and is buried in St Anne's church in Ryde in Sydney !! I have done this flight many times and have always enjoyed the VA experience. I am Platinum with them so always get a good seat ( like 3A) and they really look after you. Tough times ahead though my friend with staff lay offs and people being made redundant through out the industry. Right Here Right now !! Thanks again mate and take care and above all stay well !!

Another enjoyable clip. Thank you Jayden. I guess we all know that airline food has a bad reputation, but as you discovered in the flight in this clip, and I have previously on SQ and CX, some particularly tasty meals etc. can be had in the sky! I have only had one foul tasting and inedible meal in the sky, and that was on a JAL affiliate flying out of Taipei for Narita. And one disappointment, though OK for taste: a Nasi Lemak for brekkie on SQ. Can’t wait to fly the skies again! Whenever that may be. Cheers, Phillip

It was named JAA, Japan Asia Airways, and was an act of appeasement to allow JAL, the national carrier to fly into Beijing, but to not have a national carrier flying to Taipei, hence the name change. This was back in 1998, I think. The mail on the way back to Tokyo on board that aircraft was the only airline meal I left with a huge amount left in the container. It was vile. Rest assured, all mails I have had on JAL have been great!

My first time to Adelaide was on a 717 but I didn't have CZcams back then and they don't fly that plane to ADL anymore :( was going to fly Virgin fokker this month but I cancelled it
Gotta miss that Melbourne view haha. Yeah AuD18 for the bus ride is expensive thus I never taken the skybus haha and they don’t go to the suburbs where my uni is located anyways haha
skybus is such a rip off! In Adelaide, all public transport has fixed prices. For me as a uni student I pay $1 wherever I go during off peak and $1.80 during peak hours. Thanks very much for watching ;D

thanks very much for watching! interesting question, I hope that won't be my essay question 😂I believe the industry will bounce back bigger and stronger but it'll take more than a year ie mid 2021 onwards. this is because unemployment rate is high, people don't have the disposable income for travel. for business travellers, some might now find electronic conference convenient and cost-saving and might keep doing it in the future. Some airlines are using this time to retire their aircraft, AA retiring over 100 planes including A330 and 70+ B737, Qantas and KLM retiring 747. to bounce back they'll need new planes too so i think it'll take a while. thanks again and take care!

It`s kind of bittersweet to watch a trip like this from what were such different times. Virgin doesn`t have any direct services between Melbourne and the Gold Coast now, with just one service on limited days which requires connecting through Sydney. Worse still we may not have a Virgin Australia at all for too much longer, and the government doesn`t seem keen to give them the $1.4 billion they are asking for. I`m also wondering what will happen to our frequent flyer points if the airline should go under. On a brighter note, I`m liking the new hair style!!

I think the national carriers that are most likely to get government support have the best chances of surviving. Well done on the self cut - you can now safely ditch your hairdresser!!

I haven't traveled with Virgin Australia before and it is sad that it no longer operates any flight between Australia and Hong Kong. When you say "Victor hotel, Victor Uniform India" is that the acronym for the aircraft's registration? If it is how do you find out the acronym for the registrations?
I think when you first make contact with the tower you use all three letters such 'Victor Uniform India' & if you are repeating back an instruction you can use 'Uniform India' etc. This is for small planes. Airlines use flight numbers - Delta 459 etc. The letters are on the fuselage of every aircraft & on the nosegear covers they will have 2 letters.

well I live in Adelaide there aren't many choices from there, even if I do fly other airlines, I will have to catch Virgin or Qantas to other cities first, eg this one after this flight I flew to Korea with Jetstar 787. it is inevitable that i have to fly virgin and qantas 737 a lot
Flew VA from HBA-MEL and then SYD to HBA. Honestly they're such a classy airline. There's such a casual but classy feeling. Their staff are pretty nice too. VA over QF for me, any day. Btw Great Video!
not good for CPL students just laying off 220 tiger pilots would probably backlog all the future pilots and delay me another extra 5-6 years before i'd get a chance with a major airline :(

The cheap plastic cover on the top part of the back of the seat used to be a screen for the old Live2Air product VirginBlue had in the late 2000’s.

So short flight (just only 1 hour and 40 minutes), it is normal to use boeing 737-800 such a little aircraft.
Although you reviewed a lot of Qantas fights , but you never reviewed a Qantas B717 . I hope you will review it later .

I think when you first make contact with the tower you use all three letters such 'Victor Uniform India' & if you are repeating back an instruction you can use 'Uniform India' etc. This is for small planes. Airlines use flight numbers - Delta 459 etc. The letters are on the fuselage of every aircraft & on the nosegear covers they will have 2 letters.

yep look for the tail for the rego, if you can't see it, you can't simply go to flightradar24 and put in your flight number and date :)

well I live in Adelaide there aren't many choices from there, even if I do fly other airlines, I will have to catch Virgin or Qantas to other cities first, eg this one after this flight I flew to Korea with Jetstar 787. it is inevitable that i have to fly virgin and qantas 737 a lot

Flew VA from HBA-MEL and then SYD to HBA. Honestly they're such a classy airline. There's such a casual but classy feeling. Their staff are pretty nice too. VA over QF for me, any day.
