If all was going according to Riddler's plan, Avesta would have died to the blasts. Not just gone deaf.
I think he was doing his best to mess with Batman’s head. One thing that he and the Arkham Riddler had in common is that he just *has* to be better than everyone.
It’s as if trying to point out other people’s mistakes makes it easier for him to cope with his own.
It wasn’t logical of him, he was just trying to find any small victories he can get over batman so his ego isn’t 100% destroyed

He was still trapped in the cage, he had (at that time) no idea how to get out.. to throw a batarang at him would kill himself, Avesta and the other agents.

Sound can directed. He is standing outside of the blast until that last one which does visibly knock him backwards and stun him temporarily.

If you save Agent Blake, he will show up in the beginning of Episode 2 but later disappeared from the whole game, never to be seen again. If you picked Vigilante Joker path for Episode 5, he will be mentioned by Batman but chose not to contact him due to the possibility that he is loyal to Waller.
I could have saved them all?! Shoot! I answered one but thought it would kill Avesta on the second. Grrrr
Riddler clearly stated that if batman answers his questions then the agents won’t die but her insides will rupture which means she will just be deaf.

If we answer the question, does iman figure out our identity? She saw Lucius fox with the box and we can tell from her face that she was wondering what was in it. Then he dies and she learns that fox was an ally of batman

In my opinion every life counts, they aren’t just some random people. And i believe Batman thinks exactly the same. I honestly think it’s better that everyone lives and one person is deaf than two or one agents dying so that someone doesn’t lose their hearing.
