I finally caught a blue cat last weekend. Was the most enjoyable fish fight I've had. For a 28 inch blue he put up quite the fight.
Really miss kansas/mo creek river fishn. Lived many yrs midwest now on gulf coast. Peaceful vidios remind me of tranquility away from the area (tourist) we live in now.

Watching you get wet to get unstuck brought back some memories I got stuck on a log in the fall years back water was ice cold water was in the low 50s after several hours being hung up I took the plunge to get free then had to make a long run back to the boat ramp half froze stay safe out there Spencer

Skip was worried to death when u went in the water.
The last time i got high centered on a log i put the big motor in reverse, got on the rear deck and rocked the boat side to side. Sometimes it works.... other times you are swimming. Thanks for the video spencer!

We have a bunch of dead lakes or ox bows! They are hidden gems no one talks about and no one brings you to unless you already know about it!! I got caught in one years ago and now he's one of my best friends because we're about the only ones that know where a few are and you really have to know the river!!!

My father uses a very small (and cheap) boat with a 15HP for these shallow waters, works for him.

Keepin' it 𝗋̶𝖾̶𝖾̶𝗅̶ real! Good looking backwaters! Except for the lack of cypress and lily pads, these shallow waters and the need for holes reminded me of fishing for cats on Reelfoot Lake. I only caught channels when I fished Reelfoot, but they were all good eater size. So it was a great place to enjoy two of my favorite past times...fishin' & eatin'! 😉♥

Been stuck like that before myself and had to do the same thing, I was naked as a jay bird when the DNR boys came up on me lol trying to figure out what I was up too. After that I decided to get myself a small 14 foot flat bottom with a mud motor to explore those small back water channels.

Had a quick question cause I am stumped. I'm a lake fisherman in Texas. How do you target catfish when the water is 19ft high? All my normal stuff doesn't work and I am basically casting and hoping or sight fishing movement in the shallow flooded water.
I caught a 62lb flathead in a creek less than thirty yards wide last week.
I can’t catch anything but a drum for the past couple weeks it would seem lol I started eating them. Taste like bass fried up.

Hey Spencer just throwing this idea out there if you have the area. If you ran across a little 12 maybe 14ft Jon boat it would be cool to see some night fishing in a Jon boat or just fishing out of a budget boat most of us know well. Anyways great content as usual. Appreciate it for keeping at it with the videos instead of giving up with not having the million subscribers. We just appreciate your content man.

I've heard people swear on it on both sides.
High water and prespawn it doesn't seem to matter as much. Low water and post spawn it sucks. That's strictly night fishing I'm talking about though. Full moon day fishing is often the best. All this is for small streams. Might be different on different bodies of water.
