That printer is so advanced, you could theoretically build a living thing, piece by piece and then Frankenstein it together. That's insane.

Or, for laymen "we use light-transmitting cables to shoot super duper quick light pulses really really really fast into a super sensitive receiver" (or not so accurately, melted jewelry lasers make fat hydrogen atoms dance for our amusement). Actually, the science basis for this story is really quite good, drawing from bleeding-edge tech research. Gah, Unsettling Stories really has caught my attention... I have to wonder what this author's background is like (Max Aaron, man of mystery~)!

The first guy that was writing reminded me of Kevin from Desert Bluffs! From the happy, cheerful outlook to the straight up gory decorations! I know there has to be some people who know who I'm talking about. People who worship the smiling god or maybe followers of Huntokar.

Parts of this series honestly sounds like a textbook and I can hardly follow it. I mean I have horrible ADHD so maybe it's just me.

It's very hard sci fi. Luckily that has been my bread and butter for a very long time but I never thought I'd see that sort of writing from a dude on the internet for free...
Also there's a part of the series missing(Far Too Little Progress) that explains some of what this stuff is as well.
So there is more to this, right? Because combining this three-parter with Slough leaves me with nothing but confusion.

I honestly imagine this is how the zombie apocalypse will begin. Spores taking over and making us spread them and infecting others. I'm not saying Night of the Living Dead zombies that crave brains. More like a combination of 28 Days Later and The Last of Us. But thats just me and I can only hope lmao. As always, great job man. Need more.

To me it seems like Dark Souls lore. A collection of various bits of exposition that seem connected in some way. I didn't remember what the name of the story "Slough" was, and I was partially unsurprised when I learned that it's connected.
I really enjoyed the begging with the fungi making the people go crazy but the whole flies and blood thing is too much for me, anyways good lluck and I really enjoyed the first few stories (by too much I mean makes no sense at all and doesn't go along with the rest of the story line)

Somebody, explain how the 3 stories are connected... Were the women injected with the 3D printed items, was Dr Yow sending the signal... What?
honestly, I think that the story has completley fallen apart. the closest I can get to an explanation is this:
the women were injected with the mushroom from the very first story, called "slough", since their symptoms were similar to the ones mentioned in slough. Then, in the second story, they mentioned nanobots that had the mushroom inside of them, so I can only assume that the printers are picking up on the frequencies of those nanobots. Also, Dr Yow killed himself in the second story because he was afraid of the baby in the 1st story that was apparently either infected with the mushroom or was part mushroom. however, I think this story takes place BEFORE the second one, because Rakesh is still alive. honestly though, the story just fell apart.

Is this the same universe as "the [curse] from the coffin"?I don't remember exactly what the actual name is. I just put brackets around the word I couldnt remember. But its a good creepy pasta with a similar antagonists.

So I’m thinking Aida is the one coding the alien transition into biological code and these 3D printers are kind of like the black glue in Prometheus that took Rikeshs DNA and made these weird “flies”. That guy calling us smart and kissing our ass probably is batshit insane; but has the ability to “transport” between here and the tunnels...
i love this series it what got me to sub and check out unsettleingstory's site. this is the horror i aim to draw. as an artist i get tons of inspiration from creepy pastas. whenever i listen to this it makes me wanna draw a dude with his skull cracked open on the pavement stringy mushrooms growing out of the cavity. owo ....you know whats helpful in a situation like this. I Hate Mushrooms...... yay me :3
