You have to in order to obtain license in most states.
You are able to start the pathway application even if you have not completed both STEP exams

Please,for certificate of good standing as require for pathway 1 ,should be from my country or from other country I work now ,as example, l graduated and I have license from Egypt but I have worked in Saudi Arabia since 2010 and have license for Saudi Arabia also

Hey :) what if I already have a greencard but studied in another country (Germany). I passed step 1 and 2. Do I need ecfmg certification?
So if i am ecfmg certified this year,i need not pay for pathway again if i have to redo it next year match
can I apply for pathway 6 without OET? because clinical evaluation takes time
15:33 if you read this page it says your first exam becomes invalid not all the usmle exams if you cross that 7 year deadline. I contacted ecfmg for my similar scenario, they told me that my first exam will be invalid and my 2nd exam will become my new first exam date

I cleared step 1, six years ago. I have one year left for step 2 and OET and then apply to ECFMG, otherwise it will go to waste. However, I am not planning for a residency now but only want to have the chance to apply for fellowships in US later on and don't want my step 1 to be wasted. So I was thinking of getting ecfmg certification through pathway 1 but I am worried that the ECMFG cert will last for 2 years only. Kindly provide insight for this special situation.
Even if I require to renew the ECFMG years later from the first certification, what do they ask for?or do we have to appear for the exams again for renewal of cert?
Hi Dr. Malke, thank you for helping us with your videos. Would an IMG need to take one of the pathways now , If he/she passed the CS exam 7 years ago but it expired because of the seven year rule ?

After 2023, i.e after WFME criteria implementation, will any of the pathways be still valid for non-WFME recognized nations?
Probably yes, but we will have to wait and see

If you passed CS, then no need for a pathway.
