  • Rabbi Mendel Zirkind has taught for over a decade in the Wilkes-Barre and Jets yeshivas.
Not having planned to become an educator, Mendel shares the lessons he's learned from his time spent in these so-called "outlier" yeshivas and how the discussions and questions taking place there have so much to teach everyone.
We discuss the seeming changes in Lubavitch regarding the asking of introspective questions, what may have led to these changes and where they leave us today.

Yasher koach. Amazing intuitive and analytical depth of understanding . Creating a philosophy for life from the confusion of our generation. Classifying the ego as our insecurity and the I as true self. We need more of this kind of understanding and approach. Need to nurture the mind to think and ask the questions to inner self.

My Rav, Rabbi Yussie Zakutinsky addressed your הערה at the 9/10 Kislev farbrengen for the Mitteler Rebbe and added that the Friediker Rebbe similarly had no direct identification as the previous rebbe. He explained that the 2nd and 6th rebbes correspond to בינה and יסוד which are both חיים בעצם to the point where the יסוד is called אבר חי. The chiddush of the Mitteler Rebbe and the Friediker Rebbe by the same token was that chassidus was life itself as is indicative of the story that if you cut the finger of the Mitteler Rebbe chassidus would flow out…

Lovely, profound discussion. Really talks about what many of us are experiencing in our generation. But not one mention of Moshiach and redemption?? This is the natural outgrowth of all the concepts discussed here. It is a shame that he didn't reach the natural conclusion that is so important to us and the Rebbe's mandate.

This was really good. I feel though this was only part 1, looking forward to a further discussion on why kids aren't interested in school and yeshivah anymore.

The "theology" was sheer nonsense, talk to anyone with an actual Degree in natural theology or propositional logic or any branch of philosophy for that matter bec this is ridiculous
