Jack Swagger has one dumb iconic moment for me and it was during his trophy presentation on Smackdown when he said that a local deli in Oklahoma had a sandwich named after him called the Swaggie and it tastes like freedom. line stuck with me to this day even through all the bad lol
Something about Tempest wearing a Blue Jays shirt shouting "Negativity!" just hits home.
Makes me feel nothing. Just like the jays success in the playoffs with this new core
He at least is happy the Yankees and Red Sox are now sucking
It hits home... unlike the Blue Jays!
(I have no clue about baseball that just felt like an opportunity for a joke.)
22:54 The sheer fact that Luke forgot that Jinder even had the belt shown how bad that reign was. Or in this case, how unmemorable it was.
He wasn't alone. *_Of course it's f'kn Jinder!_*
No it doesn't. I mean, don't get me wrong, Jinder's reign was rubbish, but Luke not remembering stuff is stupidly common. He just has a crap memory. And nothing is a better illustration of that than what he said about Cena in the best WWE title videos. He said that he couldn't name a thing Cena did with his 16 title reigns, then literally talked about Cena's matches with Punk (y'know, the 5 star one), Lesnar, Bryan, and Edge when their names were mentioned by the others, in positive terms. Rubbish.
@@morlun838 I'm not attacking Luke for not remembering, I honestly find it hilarious. I got into wrestling in 2018, and when I found out that Jinder Mahal was WWE champion, I immediately scratched my head. Lol
Still think Khali was worse. Jinder was a jobber that made me consider the belt as worthless, Khali won a worthless belt, but he couldn't walk let alone wrestle.
I also forget Mahal had won the title. There are also other superstars who had won it and I forget they had won a world title.
Something I don't see hardly anybody mention about Vince McMahon's title win is that it happened only four days after Eric Bischoff was relieved of duty as SVP of WCW. I hardly think it's coincidence that less than a week after his rival is sidelined, Vince -- an exceptional narcissist -- crowns himself champion.
Ngl, I gotta respect the level of pettiness
@@alexanderhamilton6391 I don't know about respect, but stand in awe of? Absolutely.
Dark Triad bruv. More than a Narcissist
More like god complex
Again I think it would be great if we had a final segment where the group try to amalgamate a final top 10 based on the 3 lists. The discourse alone from the Jinder conversation perfectly demonstrates how fun it would be.
Surprised no one said Del Rio. Having two short and pointless reigns right in the middle of the Cena-Punk feud plus an AWFUL face run which culminated in a WrestleMania match with Jack Swagger (who got a jobber entrance). Just an overall terrible and awful champion
Excuse me. Use his full namee. Notable Prick Alberto Del Rio.
To this day I still forget he was World Champion.
He was just forgettable but not really bad and the matches were good
I can't believe no one mentioned Sgt. Slaughter. The champion so bad they had to move Wrestlemania locations because of ticket sales and blame it on "terrorist threats."
That should’ve got at a honorable mention
This would genuinely be my least favourite. He was an old, boring wrestler who was barely midcard acceptable. The gimmick wasn't over. It had America Yay and military pandering, my least favourite wrestling tropes. The mania match was the worst Hogan mania match too, so slow and dull. Awful.
I was at Ziggler's show at Caroline's during Mania 35. I asked him precisely what the plans after his cash-in were. He said there was no plan, and after he thanked Vince, Vince just replied "I only need Del Rio off TV for a couple weeks".
Oh yeah. There's also a story about how Vince just did it for the post Mania pop. Still don't understand how a guy can go out and get legitimately one of the loudest pops of all time and Vince still goes "Yeah no not doing anything with him"
@@MatTMurdockNTwelcome to the mind of Vince McMahon
@@MatTMurdockNTI mean, how is that hard to understand? That just seems like classic Vince: talk all this mess about working hard and reaching for the brass ring but end of the day, if you aren't in the plans or aren't "the guy" Vince wants, it does not matter. And if anything, if you get over when he doesn't want you to and it causes any sort of disruption via crowd takeovers and whatnot, chances are you'll actually be punished for it.
Isn't that right, Zack Ryder? Or what about you, Rusev?
When they choose Swagger, you can tell immediately that Tempest was thinking "oh my God, my next one was Swagger too, i should've mentioned him now"
Jinder's reign gets so much hate
It still needs more.
I agree, I think Pete's statement about them having the nerve to put the belt on a jobber says it all.
Eh, at least Jimder had matches
Imagine still hating on Jinder’s reign in 2023… You all hate any sort of uplifting change.
@@millenniumal5927it wasn’t an uplifting change though, they didn’t do anything with his character but make him the “dastardly foreigner who hates America” gimmick
@@millenniumal5927 It was an "uplifting change" in the same sense a colonoscopy using a meat tenderiser is a "relaxing day out".
Correction, Tempest. The Miz also got a clean title win over John Morrison on Raw in a Falls Count Anywhere Match.
Hearing Pete say Jinders run genuinely offended him, I couldn’t agree more 😂. I literally smashed my remote when he beat Nakamura😅
Jinder beating Nakamura was dogshit, but I would STILL put it above Khali's garbage run with the title.
What staggered me about that was how many people liked it when it first happened! I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
You know in sport when fans talk about how the standards have dropped if you back a struggling player/coach or a weak signing? That was the WWE fanbase's standards are in the bin momentary lapse of insanity.
@HHHBFResurrected Its because Indians make up the majority of WWE fans, if you look at Romans or Cenas fan on youtube theyre all indian
I can't believe Luke forgot about Jinder. Wasn't he on the Quizzlemania episode where they had to predict what their partner had written down and all 8 had Jinder down for the worst world champion?
I bet
the rest of the channel wishes that they could forget that.
That just says it all, doesn't it?
I need to know what Luke said on his board about The Miz 😂😂😂
If you pause at 20:02 when they show the boards, you can see that Luke's board says "The F..." and the rest is cut off. I think I know exactly what it says. 😂
Edge tortured someone with dodgeballs and pizza because he’s Canadian Rated R, which is like an American PG.
Ouch!
I mean, the majority of the Geneva Conventions was just a checklist of stuff the Canadians did. They are either apologetic to the extreme, or insane little gremlin war criminals
I mean, the Geneva Conventions were basically just a list of stuff the Canadians did. Germans were the reason for war crimes against civilians, Canadians were the reason for war crimes against opposition forces
Miz vs Morrison on Raw was a pretty good match
The whole "top belt, back to the midcard" is just the endless dance of McMahon trying to make the fans shut up and like what he tells them to. Danielson's just the ONLY one it actually worked for.
To avoid glare on the boards, you guys should use black chalk boards
Absolutely. Had to look at the pictures to know what the middle choice was and then the pictures covered the writing on the other two but could have seen all three at once on reveal without the glare.😎
watched WWE from 98-2014 and had a few years break from watching wrestling and it was hearing that Jinder Mahal was the WWE Champ got me thinking "No friggen way I just have to see this!" And thus bizaarly Jinder Mahal of all things, got me back into watching wrestling 😂
Miz doesn't deserve to be on this list. There are much much much worse WWE World Champions than The Miz.
Literally all of them who aren't Dan hate the Miz with an anger that honestly feels like Miz shat on their carpet
None of their hatred is towards Miz himself, just the booking style that his reigns are a microcosm of:
Vince's.
Book the midcarder to win for the cheap pop and do nothing meaningful with it, and as soon as they drop the belt, back down into the midcard they go.
Because they just aren't big enough for Vince.
Agreed. There were a few who were worse than The Miz like Andre The Giant, Iron Shiek, Ambrose, Bray Wyatt
Let’s see. He can’t wrestle. He can only run his mouth and that too has become boring. And he was apart of a Wrestlemania main event where he wasn’t even the focus. Sounds bad to me.
@@5ShadesGaming He can wrestle, just not to a level you like.
To paraphrase Paul Heyman: The only reason JBL was champion was because Triple H didn't want to work Tuesdays.
I would love to see a top 10 gimmick type of matches or a top 10 guilty pleasure wrestler list would be fun down the road when you've established this series.
I have to completely disagree with Sheamus being mentioned, purely for his World heavyweight title reign. Maybe I'm biased because it was in my first full year of watching, but despite the Del Rio feud being pretty bad, i enjoyed the segment where he trashed his car and I thought he had some great PPV matches, such as the 2/3 falls match with Bryan, the fatal 4-Way at Over The Limit (a rare good match at that PPV) and of course the Big Show match. I think people look back on it badly because of the way he won it.
2012 Over the Limit was a lot of fun until the main event.
Look, I do think that Jinder was a terrible WWE champion but man it's like a drinking game at this point.
I mean, who else is there to be on this type of list? Jinder having a WWE champion reign at all is still one of the most insane things WWE have done
Its like if that one side character in a series who was constantly treated as a joke suddenly became a serious threat with no Foreshadowing or buildup whatsoever and the audience is unironically supposed to buy it.
That's what Jinder's reign felt like.
@@sonic5993 you literally said everything that I've heard before.
@@maxpokebruh27 Doesn't make it any less true XD
@@maxpokebruh27Funny how yk what he was going to say but have no argument to counter, which only proves his point even more 😂
@maxpokebruh27 which only means that it's true, glad we had this conversation
Best video you’ve put out in a while. Perfect selection of presents bar Tony the milkman
i love these! you guys gotta do like top 10 greatest promos!
This was so much fun to watch, I'm hoping for a worst United States champions or worst Intercontinental champions tlc video
Hey now tempest, JBL had 2 good matches as wwe champion. his matcch with booker T at survivor series was decent, and he had a triple threat with angle and big show that was pretty good.
I seriously LOVE this series ❤ 14:15 genuinely wholesome moment as well 😂❤
So I took the time to use the current scoring system to tally up the list to see who was definitively the WORST WWE champion.
1st. Jinder Mahal - 20 (30). Jinder is at the top by executive decision, and I am not gonna argue that.
2nd. The Great Khali - 28
3rd. The Miz - 21
4th. Jack Swagger - 19
5th. Sheamus - 13
6th. Vince McMahon 12
7th. Diesel - 10
8th. Braun Strowman - 8
9th. Big Show - 7
10th. Kane - 6
11th. Rob Van Dam - 5
11th. JBL - 5
13th. Goldberg - 3
13th. Dolph Ziggler - 3
15th. Rey Mysterio - 2
15th. Sid - 2
17th. Finn Balor - 1
17th. Stan Stasiak - 1
Jinder Mahal becoming WWE champion makes me angry on so many levels, because it did serious harm to Shinsuke Nakamura. Not only was Nakamura sacrificed on the alter to kowtow to India, but Mahal rubbed salt in the wounds by racially insulting Nakamura as well. The WWE had something special in Nakamura, and they urinated it away because of both cynical commerce and culturalism.
I’m surprised no one put Sgt. Slaughter on the list? That reign was BAD.
Suggestion for a future video: Top 10 favorite championship belts.
22:45 Pete goes off lmao
Suggestions: best stipulations, best submissions, worst storylines, best title designs and best tournament
Damn, I also forgot Jinder had the belt..
Also, you should do a Top 10 Best/Worst match videos in this format.
List idea, best (and worse) turns in wrestling. So like the barber shop angle for a best or Big Show turns face because…reasons
Which Big Show face turn. There's like a million of them
@@dominiccarranza2184 exactly
I cant wait for the Tables, List, Chairs and Stairs ep
Couple of list ideas 😊
Best finisher?
Worst finisher?
The clip from Ghosts makes Adam Whitney an absolute legend in my book.
The fact that Luke legit forgot jinder makes 100000000 percent sense. I to try my hardest to completely forget that dark evil time
This was a great video, it’s just to bad WWE didn’t give superstars a chance sometimes for good title reigns.
How about next... Top 10 quietest matches outside of the pandemic era.
Crazy how the Indian wrestlers Khali and Jinder get world titles but Japanese guys like Kenta (when he was there) and Shinsuke aren’t
Would like to see your top 10 best wwe video promo packages
Would be interested to see a top 10 WWE promo segments of all time
Honestly I love JBL’s reign. Perfect heel run.
Had great macthes with Eddie too
@@Dawgs54 That's because he gets carried by Eddie
My biggest thing with Jinder is that he came back looking like a force in that battle royal that didn't involve the sings. Then the rematch with Bray wasn't for the title which confused us until the next ppv. They didn't build him and kept him actually the unbelievable heel at the time. BUT...he had the look at the time and basically did what Roman has been doing since 2020's heel run. So...Yeah... Roman wasn't a jobber but that was also Jinder's Drew moment. Come back looking good and stomp. Except they didn't have jinder Stomp despite him being for the Indian market but as a heel. It was Vince Craziness incarnate.
One of my metrics is how cool one looks as champion. That is why I actually like Jinder as champion.
If Roman Reigns isn't on someone's list...I don't know what I'll do, but ill be mad
Great ep!
I would like to see a video on top 10 best and or worst repackage of wrestlers in the past. Would be interesting to hear all of your opinions.
14:16 Poor Tempest 😂😂😂
Surprised that no one put Andre the Giant in their Top 10.
hey, good shout for the Attitude Era Podcast, Luke! Genuinely love those dudes, ferreal.
I am so glad to hear Tempest say what I've thought for years, and that is the death of the World Heavyweight championship started with Jack Swagger.
Fascinating to see the number of wrestlers on this lists that I love watching……but I honestly can’t dispute their presence on the lists. Some great wrestlers just don’t have the “it” factor to be the top champion.
Could watch this series with this trio all the time! All hail Tempest!
Thanks to Luke, I actually had to do TWO Top 10s by Borda Count (10 pts for 1st, 9 for 2nd, etc.), one with Jinder as Luke's #1, and one w/o Jinder in the list at all. And both lists have TWO names that only got voted in by one of the three and scored more points than someone with two or three votes.
The original list w/o Jinder:
1) The Great Khali (26)
2) The Miz (22)
3) Jinder Mahal (20)
4) Jack Swagger (19)
5) Sheamus (13)
6) Vince McMahon (12)
7) Diesel (10)
8) Braun Strowman (8)
9) Big Show (7)
10) Kane (6)
The list WITH Jinder properly as Luke's #1 and points readjusted finishes as a Top 11 because of a tie at 10th that wasn't there before:
1) Jinder Mahal (30)
2) The Great Khali (25)
3) The Miz (21)
4) Jack Swagger (18)
5) Sheamus (12)
6) Vince McMahon (11)
7) Diesel (9)
8) Braun Strowman (8)
9) Big Show (6)
10) Kane (5)
10) JBL (5)
Lot to process here in this pool of bad champs.
Love this show concept. GIVE ME MORE
I would personally love a 10 favorite survivor series teams/traditional tag matches
Backlund pt2
Hogan Undisputed run
Jinder
Kane
Andre
Big Show (both times)
Vince
Miz (cash in 2021)
Rey 2011
A great idea for a list or lists is to do the era ppv ex : Attitude era, PG etc
I only remember jinders reign because it was supposed to be defended in a live event against aj styles in lisbon, portugal that i went and it was changed to a non title match a few days before the event, it was on a monday and there would be a smackdown in london on the friday so the match was changed because aj styles would win the title on that very smackdown
Pete absolutely nailed this list!
Throughout, I was thinking that if he put Jinder #1, this is the correct list, and he did!
Perfect finish to a perfect list Pete
The Miz bad reign is simply because of the booking, enough said the Miz deserved better
Idea: The best WWE triple threat matches of all time.
U guys need to Show the Lists at the End....Please!! God Bless
Here's your next TLC topic: 10 Best Jinder Matches. It'll do for PFK what Communopoly did for NRB 10 fold. I await my job offer in the post.
Wanna make Pete blow his stack? Just mention the fact that Jinder Mahal was WWE Champion, and you'll succeed every time.
Should do a list of the best 1 time World Champions in history, spanning WCW/ECW/WWE
I would of had Yokosuma in there somewhere. That was a rough year, he only ever had 2 minutes in the tank.
I love how tempest just stared appallingly at oli over the number 1 pick
That’s the most excited anyone’s ever been for Jack Swagger.
Please do a list for the 10 best Wrestlemania main events and 10 worst Wrestlemania main events
I think the best way you can look at JBLs reign is Heyman saying "The only reason you were World Champ for a year is cause Triple H didn't want to work Tuesdays" sums it up perfectly
I think it's a relly stupid take at 21:08. AJ Styles, Okada, Danielsson, Rollins, Omega and many more aren't "threatening" as well. But not many would think that they aren't propper champions. While Jinder might appear as a threat in a dark alleyway.
You got a point there
Luke not remembering Jinder winning the belt says everything about that reign...
I’ve been to 1 live wrestling show in my life it was backlash 2017 where Jinder won the title. Life changing would be an understatement
Here's what the definitive best Saudi shows are if the points thing was implemented here:
3rd with 19 points: Jack Swagger
2nd with 22 points: The Miz
1st with 30 points: Jinder Mahal
I’d love to hear your top 10 storylines!!
Lost me with sheamus, one of the only faces to be a dominant champion when he was the world heavyweight champion. He just won constantly and was cheered. Nothing to complain about besides Del rio
Jinder Mahal as WWE Champion was Hilrious, Because you knew he wasnt suppose to be the champion but WWE was trying to make you believe he was a top guy
Tempest and Luke are gonna have Goldberg on their "10 Most Alright Champions" list
12:30 And just to be clear, Luke is referring to the actual Attitude Era Podcast. Also known as the AE Podcast, not the imposter Attitude Era Podcast run by some failed rapper who decided to not look up if someone already took that name and had been using it for a decade before him.
I don't care what you guys think but I thought Kane's title reign was fantastic. Specially for the promos I found them really interesting and creative and new for once at that time
You're not alone. Only thing I hated about it was how weak he was booked in the Edge feud.
I loved JBL as champ... well I hated him but I was 14. I hated him so much that looking back I loved it
JBL was absolutely terrible. Short reigns are not actually a problem. If they suck at least they are over. Bad wrestling isnt even a problem if they are popular (and sorry kids people loved psycho sid). But reigns like JBL's and Jinders (jeez...) were long, damaging and actively made people tune out
Then only good thing about Jinder’s reign is that it was ended by AJ Styles. Who then went on to have banger matches with Brock and Cena
Pete and Tempest speaking with such unbridled hatred for Jinder was amazing
I’m surprised no one brought up triple h’s WHC run from 2002-2004/2005
I mean honestly I get having a mix of business and pleasure answers, but of the business ones to select I would think not generating feeling at all would literally disqualify Stasiak from being the worst, a negative feeling
I would like to at some point see you do a video of your top ten wrestlers that have never been a top champion, and try to convince people why they should.
I can already predict Luke's top 10.
10-2 Jeff Jarret.
1 Raven.
@@destendgem Nice Joke. Luke himself has actually said on their own podcast that He doesn't think Raven needed to be in the World title picture when he came into WWF.
You guys should try to do "10 WWE Superstars Who Never Won World Championship"
I came back from a long WWE break just as Jinder had won the WWE title. Weirdly I was kind of fine with it. I didn't even mind the Prison match, until it all got dumb at the end. I gave WWE more leeway back then.
I find it hilarious that Number one worst champion was Jinder, Jinder, and Luke forgetting that Jinder exists
Special guest Tempest, what a rare treat
The Jinder Mahal rant had my crying laughing while driving. Very unsafe but it’s fine😂
100% with Pete on his Number 1 pick. Love love love the rant, 100% agree
