    • @Keithphysics
      @Keithphysics Před měsícem +4

      That is a strange reason to make a judgement. While a cross is generally a symbol for some Christians (not all) it is also a symbol used "in fashion". Btw.People who call themselves Christian are not all authentic followers. While the majority of Christians support Israel, others are mistakenly supporting the terrorism of Hamas thinking they are supporting the people of Gaza from a humanitarian viewpoint. Loss of life on both sides of any conflict is tragic, and there are people dying in wars happening around the world right now, not just Israel/Gaza. However the world needs reminding the terrorist Hamas (who the "Palestinian" people of Gaza - voted as their government in 2006), started this war with their barbaric slaughter of innocents, rape and kidnappings, in Israel on 7 October 2023. Nearly 8 months later and more than 100 of those kidnapped are still held by Hamas. Only they know how many are still alive, if any. Hamas is 100% responsible for all the suffering in Gaza.

To make it short: in 2009 Gaza war maybe over than 90% of population as well as media were pro-palestinian. The prostests which often became violent were so ubiquitous as if Israel was bombimg Greece, not Gaza. In 2014 war there was not much change. Now, for reasons that varie, one could say a very big part of greeks, have turned into pro-Israelis, though still a lot still support Palestine no matter what. (majority of them are left-wingersand then followr the extreme far-right and also religious conservatives). The same goes for the media. You don't see any more these antisemitic caricatures that were the nor in the 90's except for some garbage newspappers full of conspiracy theories and fake news. I can not say if pro-Israelis now make a majority over the ''anti-Zionists'' but sure they first goup will not go out to protest, stick posters on walls and make so much noise in the social media.

When they think of Israel, they will think of burned buildings and dead babies, it strips Israel of its protection by charges of antisemitism against anyone who is critical of Israel because to be critical of people who are carrying out genocide cannot be antisemitism, it cannot be considered immoral. Antisemitism is a despicable attitude."

Firstly, most people living in Gaza are kids who did not vote for Hamas (although have been indoctrinated). Second of all, there are the people who oppose the terrorists (few but there are). The problem is that we need to understand both causes. The Zionist Israeli cause is extremely important. The same goes for giving the ‘Palestinians’ a fair land where they’re treated with dignity and peace. Of course that’s not going to happen with Hamas in power and it will take generations to change the perceptions that have been built up through Hamas. @@Anastasis-is-here Just because they were similar doesn't mean it's the same, like this same argument is being used against Christianity that the trinity was a foreign thing (even though you can cite the trinity even in the Old Testament).

    The Greeks sound like the most sensible people in the world! They aren't going to jump in and say one side is perfect and the other is evil. I wish more people could be as sensible as them.

      You have to speak up and shouldnt say yes to injustice for one group of people and no to injustice to the other group of people. Russians attacked Ukraine, thats WRONG. Palestinians attacked Israelis. Thats WRONG too. Just because Jews are involved, you are suddenly silent and have no opinion anymore? If you cant even condemn October 7th and all air attacks on Israel before October 7, which only can be prevented by the Iron Dome, saying I am neutral, is equal to saying yes to the destruction of the State of Israel. Because what would be if there wasnt the Iron Dome? Israel wouldnt exist anymore. Your silence speaks louder than your neutrality. Palestine never existed, it was a mandate under British rule and was divided into a Jewish and Arab state. The Arabs refused to recognize that arrangement and since then are attacking Israel. They could have had their own state a long time ago if they would have recognized Israel. You cant be silent if you know history.

      @@FaycalOuazine This is a very is a simplified perspective. Reducing it to a matter of a "foreign power" giving away land oversimplifies the historical complexities and the involvement of various actors, such as the British colonial rule, the Balfour Declaration of 1917, and subsequent developments like the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. The creation of the State of Israel was not merely a unilateral decision by a foreign power but was endorsed by the United Nations through Resolution 181 (the Partition Plan for Palestine) in 1947. The Implementation of the plan was met with violence and rejection by Arab states and Palestinian leaders which marked the beginning of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. Israelis were always for a two state solution but the Arabs never accepted this plan. Instead, they gave rise to several terror organization whose leaders earn billions of dollars and whose "voters" dont see any of that money, including the Palestinians. How can you earn billion of dollars and your own people see nothing? You only do that because war helps you to stay rich. Please blame the Hamas for the situation in Gaza.
