What is with this modern obsession to destroy players? The crazy thing about Nunez is he has 33 goals and 17 assists through two seasons (50 G/A) and can be even much better. Slot needs to spend all preseason with Nunez having him bend his runs over and over and over again. Not to mention practicing placement over power on repeat. Because everything else about his game is top tier. This constant trend to destroy players has gotten really old. Nunez would not be getting so much attention if people didnât see the immense talent he has

Because Edwards, Hughes and Slot need to come together and decide who stays and who goes in the new LFC structure. It would be weird if LFC sold Salah and Trent for example without consulting with Slot and what he wants to do. Thats why Salah, Trent, VVD havent been extended yet.

Liverpool last season was supposed to be a rebuild so in the grand scheme it wasnt a total failure everyone were writing liverpool mid table at the start to be top for a percentage of the season then falling short towards the end isnt disastrous.

given the amt of injuries Liverpool have had this season and their summer midfield overhaul it's a miracle they were in with a shout at the quadruble until March at all. then again i kinda expected the falloff given the amt of goals they've conceded this season. if anything their defending is what's let them down this season. even as early as November when Liverpool lost to Toulouse in the group stage of the europa league i already said all these goals they're conceding will come back to haunt them. at that stage it was what? 4 clean sheets in 17 games in all competitions? no team's ever winning anything with that kind of record. offense doesn't win u games/titles. defense does. Nunez's performances and misses didn't have anything to do with Liverpool falling off in the last 2 mths of the season.

VVD and Mo are both the wrong side of 30. FSG are very reticent to offer big contracts to aging players. They both made value on their transfer fees, so a year of them transitioning the new side then losing the wages in a years time is probably the plan
Salah, TAA and VVD might not all physically leave, but they've all mentally checked out.
TAA will obviously try to hide it more, being a scouser, but the writing is on the wall.

If Slot and Edwards believe in Nunez and think Nunez can become a more reliable and stable goal scorer then by all means give him another season, but I'd trust Jota much more, and also a big but then selling Salah is risky and we'd need to bring in an established 30 goals a season winger. I'd much rather see Slot strengthening the defense and maybe even a new CDM. I love Endo, but if he is injured or out of form then we have Bajcetic and Mac Allister which isnt ideal for such a crucial position. Problem is there arent any amazing CDMs in the market that are guaranteed to be better than Endo. Last season we tried for Lavia and Caicedo, look how they turned out, so maybe its better to trust Endo and develop Bajcetic and hope we dont need to play Mac as CDM.
tbh i would trust Nunez more than i would Jota. yes Jota is far more clinical than Nunez but he isn't as good as Nunez in terms of getting into good positions. yes Nunez has missed plenty of chances but to have those chances in the first place u need to be in good positions and that's where Nunez truly excels.

I genuinely believe LFC will struggle if they keep Nunez, he's had time and just hasn't built any chemistry with the others, he has moments of quality but he's too inconsistent, Jota should also be sold because he's made of glass so you can't depend on him, hasn't had an injury free season since joining. If they keep Salah & Diaz and bring in 2 reliable quality forwards & they can keep the rest of the squad together then they'll be able to compete.
As a Liverpool fan if TAA left for Madrid I wouldn't blame him, Jude would make him ease in so well.
