  • Quick intro to the extraordinary DeTomaso P70 that was intended as a LM racecar and was being developed by Carroll Shelby before he jumped ship to join Ford’s racing effort. This open-air prototype with its ultra low driving position and nearly smooth perspex windscreen is amazing - especially from the tail, where the integrated spoiler and oval bodywork are elegant previews of future Ferraris. The squashed air-gulping intakes in the rear canopy are a favorite detail.
