That tactic has been used since thresh was released in pro play. However, thresh stopped seeing play as much so this tactic might look new to newer viewers.

I remember watching this series live. A true nail-biter, since RNG were the favourites to win the whole tournament.
Favorites hardly ever win.
In 2019 it was G2 who were favorites, but FPX took it, in 2020 it was TES who were favorites but they did not even make it to finals and DWG took it.

As a guy from Canada, EU is really showing up and I couldn't be happier. They could lose in semis right now and they'll still come home as heroes who shut down the Eastern giants, but it looks like they're going to go all the way. Perkz looks so happy and that interview was extremely pure in emotion. G2 might be my new favourite team.

Coming back here during 2022 is crazy to me. Honestly G2 botlane soaking up the pressure and then Perkz + the supposed to be Heimerdinger one trick carrying this game was the best way it could have ended.

It's the emotion, it always is. People always go fanboi on our cognition, which is amazing, but emotions, they perpetuate the most detailed memories u can have, and not only that, they are faster than cognitive thought. Emotions are less refined but more performant. This is why G2 didn't "know" what happened, there's nothing to "know", there was just emotion in the end. Their mechanics and game knowledge but a compiled net in their mind for emotion to direct through.
They might have won through a common strategy, but in the end this series was outplays left and right (on both sides) and of incredible high pace, consitency and incredible team efforts. You know a team is good when everyone plays as each other's support. When even a Jhin with no escapes, fires up an ult for the team to make it out against what's essential a pack of raptors in RNG.
holy beans...mad props to g2 for that huge early lead and mad props to rng for winning multiple consecutive team fights down 10k. this was such an amazing game. what a worlds.

The skill gap of the teams has been blown away and the meta is way more flexible than it has ever been, giving the opportunity for every team to play their style.
Great games overall and as with the KT vs IG series I literally couldn't breath on some plays.
Thanks Riot for giving us the best worlds so far too (even though top lane seems a bit too Aatrox vs Urgot) !

I don't know why there's still this NA vs EU thing going. We need to start looking this on a new way, right now and as I've always seen this is WESTERN vs EASTERN servers and I've been following the competitive scene since season 2, and I can tell that I've never seen a better chance than this one to actually get Eastern teams down. I don't actually care if Fnatic wins, G2 or C9 all that matters for me is that any of those western teams is gonna get the World Championship. Go WEST, I'm shaking right now!

It has been a busy and tough year for rng, rng has played with so many top teams (need to refine what top means btw) in tournaments especially international ones and in this s8. I can see the fatigue and so take a rest
It's probably one of the best gamel in lol history. David vs Goliath and magical run by G2 proving that gap between west and east was closing. I will probably return to this video when perkz retires just to honor him. The best west player and one of the top in the world.
