Shivasundar is the thoroughbred star at Thrissur Pooram - the mother of all festivals in Kerala. Held every year at the temple located at the heart of the city, Thrissur Pooram is a spectacle of light, colour, music, fireworks, and above all, elephants. Join host Roshmin as he gets the once in a lifetime opportunity to follow the star of the show, lead elephant Shivasundar on his journey through the entire festival!

From meeting (and bathing) the star attraction of Thrissur Pooram's elephant festival to spending time working in a makeshift brothel at Koovagam, Asia's largest transgender festival, city boy and party animal Roshmin is on his way to experiece India's people and culture head first. Not just to see how they live, but to live their lives.

@@anuram4252 in kerala elephants especially in thrissur they are so imp.they have their own spas etc.sivasundar died at his 46 yrs old.if it was in the forest there is no sure he would be alive.atleast he is given proper food and health care during his health problems .we are not keeping elephants for begging .he was having blockage of digestive tract condition and was getting treated.u wont understand the importance of him .if he was just an animal for our pleasure then why did thousands of people came for his funeral
@@sumithajrjr6242 No doubt the people cared for him when he was sick. But first of all the elephants should not hv been domesticated . Let them live in their natural habitat & let nature takes it course. Even if the elephant was saved from the wild for whatever reason, place it in a sanctuary . I am a Hindu & pray to Lord Ganesha but I don't see the need to use elephants in temples & processions. Anyways wish you well & a blessed 2021.

I must confess, I was worried that the elephants would be nervous and/or act up when faced with all the noise of the celebration but, given how intelligent they are combined with the skill and dedication of their trainers, the animals are truly a spectacle to see. What a unique and fascinating tradition. This is something I'll have to see when I'm in India at the right time of year.
