The Memory wire used in this video is 2.25" diameter, but I do make the bracelets in childrens sizes with 1.75" diameter-smaller tube beads (3.2X26mm) and 4mm bicones. Also have made the same bracelet with 2" diameter for smaller adults, and 2.5" diameter for larger adults by adding a few extra beads on each end. The supplies used in your video, is this for the 2 1/4"bracelets? What size beads & tube beads do you use for the 2" & 1 3/4"?

    • @Jewelrymakingmadeeasy
      @Jewelrymakingmadeeasy  Před 8 lety +1

      The bracelet in the video is made with 2.25” diameter memory wire and 2X38mm tube beads, 6mm bicones, 5mm round beads and 6X7mm barrel beads. For the 2” diameter memory wire I use the same size beads. I just add extra 5mm rounds on the ends for the larger size bracelet so that the ends cross over each other for security.
      For the 1.75” diameter the bracelet is Child size (or very petite adult) and I use 26X3.2mm tubes I also use 4mm crystal bicones with 3mm rounds in between the crystals, 5 mm round beads and 6X7 barrel beads
      I sell all of the parts for the bracelets including the charms. Here are the links to what is needed.

    • @Jewelrymakingmadeeasy
      @Jewelrymakingmadeeasy  Před 7 lety +1

      I tried to answer your ? about tarnishing and for some reason it would not post. So I am going to try to paste it here.
      (Hi Ann,
      Thank you for the compliment!!! I'm glad you like the bracelet. Now to answer your question, Both Sterling Silver (.925) and Silver Plate Can and will tarnish when left exposed to the air. But you can prevent this by keeping it in a small zip lock plastic baggie when not being worn. Now about the "wearing out", a few things can cause this to happen, one is if you don't protect the silver when not in use it will tarnish which will cause you to have to clean it too often by Rubbing a "cleaning compound" on it. Eventually after a few cleanings it will wear off the plating.
      Also I THINK ?? (it has never happened to me) a silver plated bracelet that is a really tight fit and will constantly be rubbing your skin will probably wear off the plating. But that should not happen with a bangle. The memory wire used comes in 4 sizes, child (1.75" diameter) small adult (2" diameter) adult (2.25" diameter) and larger adult (2.5" diameter). As far as "affordable" I think this is it. The tube beads do come in Sterling Silver, is quite a bit more expensive, and also does tarnish. It's not actually the silver that causes tarnishing, but the metal it is mixed with. .925 Sterling Silver is still not "Pure Silver" and is mixed with other metals. From what I understand "Pure Silver" does not tarnish, but VERY expensive, and I don't think tube beads are made from it. I believe Pure Silver is pretty soft and that is why it is mixed with other metals.
      I hope this information is helpful, sorry if my answer was a little long, but I was never good at "making a long story short" LOL!
      HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!!)

    • @Jewelrymakingmadeeasy
      @Jewelrymakingmadeeasy  Před 7 lety +1

      In response to your not being able to find the parts on my site.....For the memory wire you will find that under "Stringing material" (under ITEMS, on the left side of the page, just down a bit), and the metal beads and charms will be under "metal beads, caps, and charms" and the crystals just under "beads" :-)

      nancy beal..... Hi Nancy, Thank you for the compliment. These bracelets are very popular. I don't do shows anymore, but if I did these particular bracelets would be $8.50 and the do it yourself kits would be $7.50 just as they are priced in my Etsy shop. However I do know others sell them upwards of $10.00 and $15.00, which is understandable if they are paying retail for the supplies.

    Hi what the thickness of the wire?

    • @Jewelrymakingmadeeasy
      @Jewelrymakingmadeeasy  Před 9 lety

      Neneh Mansaray The memory wire does not state the thickness. All memory wire is sold in diameter size such as 1.75 inch, 2 inch, 2.25 inch and 2 1/2 inch for bracelets. It comes in packages and is like a slinky. It is very strong wire that maintains its circular shape and can only be cut with a very strong wire cutter. Any other jewelry wire cutter will break, or chip. Look at the second picture on this listing of memory wire in my etsy shop to get a good idea of what it looks like.

If you could let me know what your postal code is, and what it is you wanted to order I could do a "Reserve" listing with the correct postage amt. Then I can post it for you (with your name on it) to purchase. And it is best to communicate that information through my etsy shop at www.etsy.com/shop/oldsmarbeads

      @@ellienorder520 I have done a little research and am having a problem finding out how much the shipping would be. As in the U.S. the weight of the order is taken into consideration, the heavier the higher the postage price is. Also I've learned from other Etsy Vendors who live here in the United States and used to ship to Europe and other countries that there are also Customs charges and VAT fees,., I and Etsy cannot charge a customs fee and the customer is responsible. Your package would be held in customs until these are paid and I am unable to even know what these charges are, therefore cannot tell you.
      I wish I could be more help but the information so far is available to me. It might be much easier to purchase from etsy Vendors that actually live in Europe.
      Sorry!! :-(

      Raquel, My sincere apologies. Let me address one issue at a time,
      First I am truly sorry about the shipping costs, when shipping international throught the U.S. Post office it is very expensive. And without a zip code of where it is going to I can only estimate the furthest point (which is the highest price). Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States, and since it has not yet been incorporated into the U.S. therefore it is considered "International Shipping Rates" as far as the U.S. Post office. I'm afraid I have no control over that. If you would send me a message through etsy, and let me know exactly what you want to order, and what your zip code is, I can look up the shipping rate to see if you would get a better price. But I assure you that even though my product is fairly low in price, I cannot pay the shipping costs myself. And it would probably still be pretty high.
      Secondly, This was/is only the second video I had done. I am fairly new to this so I do make mistakes and I see that a lot of times while I am working I am pulling my hands out of the cameras full frame. You do actually see most of it if you are enlarging your screen on a desktop computor, but otherwise you are not seeing the full frame.
      Third, I thank you for complimenting and your critique. It is always appreciated. Compliments help to encourage me, and critique helps me to try to imporve my tecnique. I love beading, and I love sharing, but I must admit I use a pretty inexpensive camera as that is what I can afford.
      Last of all if you would be so kind as to tell me your zip code, I can get a better estimate of what an average size package would cost to mail to you and let you know. But again, I apologize, but I have no control over the post office, even tho technically P.R. is considered part of the U.S., the Post office charges international rates, I do not make money from the postage at all.
      I appreciate your watching my videos, and hope that you can find similiar materials in P.R. so you can follow along, and as I said I try to make my videos a little bit better (visually) each time. I am still learning how to make you tube videos :-)
      HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!!

      Hi Raquel, it's nice to hear from you again, and Thank You for your order!! Please don't worry, you did not offend me. I do appreciate comments and definitely criticiszm. I can't say I always felt this way, but as I got older I learned that with critique, we have the opportunity to analyze ourselves and decide if we can be doing something differently, or better. Sometimes yes, and sometimes no. But most of the time it is well worth listening to, So I do, as I said appreciate it.
      Again, THANK YOU! and GOD BLESS!!!
