We used 3ft high hardboard to cover the wall/skirting boards, positioning heavy items/furniture at intervals to hold it upright safely. It's easy to wipe and cheap to replace if it gets chewed. I believe you can also get plastic clip together panels ( like your play pen but solid ) these days and cord protectors. We used a non slip vinyl flooring offcut for the pen base with small mats here and there - easy to wipe floor clean and wash mats in bath. 'Bunny boudoir' was a folded fleece on the floor and another draped and tied across the corner of the pen like a curtain for privacy. I always put some hay on the bedding fleece to give sth to chew on in bed instead of the fleeces ! Maybe consider cardboard boxes/woven baskets filled with paper as chewy toys when free roaming ? Mine liked to shred paper.
My Nethie boy was super chewy and never got fully litter trained, even after neutering 🤷♀
He was adorable none the less 🥰
