Reading through these comments reminds me of that time on CZcams when there was no way to directly reply to a comment under the comments itself and that was back when people like Filthy Frank and VanossGaming were really popular still. Man has it been long since those days

Such a lively, happy March from a composer of ballet Fairy Doll, he also finished (orchestrated) last work of Johann Strauss, Cinderella ballet

The Russian Imperial Army seemed to repurpose a lot of German and other marches (Igerskiy, Petersburg, Faniagorskiy, etc....). And why not? They are great marches that benefited from some Russian flavor.

lol it did not sound Russian at all in the beginning. :-) At least to my ear, Russian marches [very beautiful!] are not usually "optimistic". Quite a few are very sober and carry within them the tones that also reflect the suffering of war. US marches seldom display this soberness. An important exception is "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" a civil war tune. The words to the march [song] are very happy but the tune suggests enormous suffering from its sad tones. :-)

What are you talking about? No, it's not song. Song has words. It's called composition, in this case a march.

Strauss also composed music in Russia dedicated to Russian people and their beautiful country and stop babbling about Austrian being better than Russian. Both have great music.
