I think Adam heading to AEW was the best decision. He had nothing left to do in NXT and he sure as hell wasn’t heading to the main roster.

I kept telling people for years he was never gonna get called up to the full time roster Adam Cole ain't stupid.
And one point that means a lot to Adam Cole was keeping his Twitch channel for his video games. WWE wasn’t going to allow it and Cole didn’t want to stop streaming his video games. I’m sure Cornette would have a stroke if anyone brought this up to him that Cole would even consider video game playing a point of negotiating a wrestling contract, but Adam Cole is a huge video game nerd, which fits right into the AEW locker room. Lol

One of the most aggravating things about Vince is how to him nothing that happens in nxt matters. Cole and Lee had a barn burner of a match where Lee dethroned Cole and became double champion, so why in kayfabe would Cole be managing him now ???
You could handwave the idea that Keith Lee is bitter and disappointed at how his main roster tenure has gone so far, and have Cole worm his way into Keith's life as a sort of evil Apollo Creed in Rocky 3. Convinces Keith to turn villain and let Cole "manage" him while running the angle that Coles is getting his revenge on Keith by corrupting him, plus additional revenge on Vince via rewriting history so that we find out that it's "Vince's fault" that Adam and his ilk haven't made it to the main roster as opposed to them squatting and hogging the main event of NXT for three-four years and refusing to go to the main event.

I think in the beginning they were taking it as nxt was a separate company altogether so they treated everything that happened there as “non canon” to the main roster I think I read something like that way back when nxt went from that fake ass competition show to a wrestling show that’s why they tend to change stuff when they get called up

Now that was a smart move, well done Adam. I know AEW is not perfect but the company has future and the environment is better in AEW. With a good booker and CM Punk with Bryan Danielson showing the roster a more realistic pro wrestling things can get better. Although maybe not all of the roster may do it I believe things can get better.

I think he is planning on that. I'm convinced WWE is trying to sell the company and retire. They have been cutting all these wrestlers to make their balance sheets look better to potentially buyers. It came out that WWE has been in talks with Disney for a buyout. They have also been in talks with NBC Universal and Fox. My feeling is this next Wrestlemania will be the last Wrestlemania before the merger or buyout is complete! I am stock owner of WWE and hopefully he gets a great deal with Disney and it make me a lot of money!

Vince has one of the best talkers in the company at the announce table right now and he'd make a great manager. Pat Mcafee. But Vince probably never saw his feud with Adam Cole in NXT.
I can actually see Adam Cole being a GREAT manager, but not while the man is in his god damn prime! In 7-10 years, he could be a good behind the scenes guy to help put matches together, train the newbies in in ring fundamentals and promo skills. Also be an amazing manager on screen, because the man can talk his ass off. But making him a manager right now, jesus christ.
The fact that you need to do all that to get Vince to like a guy who the fans go crazy for is beyond crazy itself. Yeah, Vince is definitely the reason why WWE will likely be going the way of WCW.

WCW had Vince Russo as the booker. But that didn't stop them from making Money despite how bad the product was. The only reason WCW doesn't exist is because of the AOL/Time Warner merger in 2001. Ted Turner lost majority ownership and the new owners didn't like professional wrestling "it's low class entertainments" they called it. So they sold all assets to WWF as soon as possible and for peanuts.

They gave him a super strong push that year when NXT dominated Survivor Series. When the Saudi show made everyone not get back in time for SmackDown he had a great match with Danielson and pinned him (11/1/2019). He had a competitive match against Rollins on Raw that next Monday. Straight out of ROH he was over with a huge WWE crowd. I think he won a big match at Survivor Series in 2019... He had a really strong push at that time and he did it with a broke hand lol...
That match at Survivor Series was Adam Cole defending the NXT Championship against Pete Dunne.

People disagreed when I and others said there is no way Adams Cole gets called up to the main roster and is successful. He doesn’t fit wwe archetype great move going to aew for his career now it’s on his terms.
It's not like this is his last chance in WWE. He's 32. By the time he's done with AEW, he'll likely be an even bigger commodity. And he also didn't burn any bridges, even go so far as to finish up his story with O'Reilly.

Adam Cole going to AEW was the best choice he is happy he knows a lot of the guys there close friends to the elite even tho I don’t care for the elite but those guys like Adam Cole and I don’t blame him for going there.
As unwatchable as WWE is, there is nothing worse in wrestling than the Young Bucks.
If I'm in charge of WWE & I have a guy that's close with most of the major figures of AEW & is dating their women's champion... & he's one of the best workers in the world, I'm giving him a main event push as a leader of a group on Raw.
One of my favorite angles involving a wrestler coaching another wrestler was MR WRESTLING 2 & Magnum TA in Mid South. That was actually one of Jim’s first major feuds…

That's the kind of pitch you give someone when they're trying to get them to quit. It's funny that WWE probably sincerely thought this was a good idea.
Cole has a Shawn Michael'esk charisma. Personally I'm torn about his decision to go to AEW. Cause I'm a fan of DaParty. But I'm also glad he's moving somewhere that he feels he can grow as a wrestlers.
There’s definitely more than one pitch they made to him. This is just the one the dirt sheets decided to run with. They reported for weeks that both Raw & SmackDown creative teams were instructed by Vince to come up with storylines for him, so this is just the one that came out.
The fact that this was one of the pitches at all is still stupid.
This report hasn't been verified by anybody, but everybody is believing this is true.

Jim literally pitched exactly what WWE wanted to do with Cole and Keith Lee. Everything except the name change. Fuck that part.
Eddie Guerrero, Daniel Bryan, Bruno Sammartino, Chris Beniot, AJ styles....All these guys arent 6 feet tall yet they were amazing champions.....Adam Cole has the potential to reach at that level.....He is amazing on the mic and also is an amazing wrestler............Its good that he went to Aew he doesnt need to prove anything to Vince.

Having people with different names sure does help. AEW has at least 5 guys with the name Matt. Also Adam Page, Ethan Page, Christian Cage, Brian Cage, Bryan Danielson, Christopher Daniels to name a few. There's more similarities just check their roster page.

The saddest part about listening to how to sell Adam Cole to Vince is thinking that he should know everything himself already. In this particular case, Cole fan as I am, you could *never* believe Cole as a threat vs. Reigns, Edge, Lesnar, Lashley, etc. He could never be top of the card in WWE except briefly as a cowardly heel.
Almost anybody can be believed as a threat if they get presented right. The highest likelihood is that he'd have been beaten into powder, jobbed regularly, and stripped of everything that got him over including his own name.
What? He was posed as a legitimate threat to Drew McIntyre thanks to Undisputed Era. They literally could have moved over the Undisputed Era and made him look like a tactical genius, which would make him a cerebral threat, exactly how Triple H booked him in NXT.
Look at someone like AJ Styles, he’s a small guy like Cole but the way they’ve presented him from the start has made him legitimate in the eyes of the fans to the point where they don’t even notice the glaring size difference between him and other “top guys”
Look at Seth. Same size but has pinned Brock, Roman and every big man in WWE clean at some point. Booking is what matters.
