      Troll: Interesting. I had not heard of him until your comment. Looks like he actually copied me as I've done vids like this going back over 9 years ago while his channel is only like 2 years old. Thousands of others do vids like this too for example: czcams.com/video/UFT3WCT9PcQ/video.html Are they all copying that guy's style, or what? Please enlighten us since you seem so expert.

    Thanks for the shoutout. I'm glad you like them. :) Give it about 200 hrs of break-in and they'll open up some more. Don't bother with the Sony PHA-3 amp, it's not worth the selling price.

    I've had mine for about 8 months, which isn't long, but the pads still look brand new. If I remember correctly, you and I both have both these and the D7000's. I just did an A/B with bass-heavy tracks and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on bass response/quality on the two.

      I sold my D7000 so unfortunately can't do the test.

    Given how much these headphones cost and the multiple amplifiers and cables(which also are quite expensive)when do you actually use the desktop stereo speakers that prominently flank the computer monitor?

    • @phototristan
      @phototristan  Před 8 lety

      Yes, I cannot listen to headphones all day. The speakers I can.

      +phototristan the only catch was that it came without the box but it had both cables so I didn't mind

  • @kuzia1984
    @kuzia1984 Před 6 lety

    Technologically speaking, cables do not make any difference. The sound is still broadcasted through the cable at the same bitrate / resolution.
    Also, burn-in happens purely inside our brains. Again, scientifically speaking. But i guess everyone has to sell their products.

    How they compare to Audeze?

    • @phototristan
      @phototristan  Před 8 lety

      +Random Videos These are brighter, mids not as smooth and likely more bass impact.

    • @phototristan
      @phototristan  Před 8 lety

      It's called Sonic Studio Amarra but it's not only an EQ, it's a complete digital player for the Mac.

  • @jasonlax4112
    @jasonlax4112 Před 8 lety

    wait... you are telling me you can hear the difference in the cables? The cables that come with them are high end, and much better than your typical cable. Also, reviewing a headphone on a hybrid tube vs just a solid state, not ideal. unsubscribe....

    • @phototristan
      @phototristan  Před 8 lety +1

      There is definitely a difference in headphone cables. Also, solid state or tubes, one is not more ideal than the other, it's personal preference. Having a hybrid tube amp gives me the best of both worlds. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

    • @jasonlax4112
      @jasonlax4112 Před 8 lety

      if you believe that reviewing a headphone on a hybrid or tube amp is the correct way, then you my friend are delusional. Doing solid state and THEN tube to add flavor to the discussion, bingo. Doing a review solely on a tube or hybrid... sad and does not do justice to the headphones themselves. Tubes amps add flavors to the sound, hence why people buy them and use them. Hence why i have a few. But to review a set of headphones only on tube, makes no sense. But hey... sometimes logic evades people.

    • @phototristan
      @phototristan  Před 8 lety +3

      I can only review with equipment I have, unless someone sends me equipment to review. Realistically, even the sound signature of different solid state amps will be different between different brands and models so your "logic" makes no sense. If you don't like the reviews I do with my equipment, it's not like there aren't other videos you can watch on CZcams.
