The best of all versions of "Pride and Prejudice" 1995, which made me aware of Jane Austen's talent and started to read her books which most of my books were from Charlotte Bronte which I favored since a teenager. Jane Austen's book gave a different perspective in society during that time which was interesting and couldn't get enough. Thank you, BBC for your best version ever!

I have seen the the Kiera Knightly version, as well as the one with Greer Garson. The 1995 version is by far the most attractive version and truest to the book

The Kiera Knightly version is just another typical Hollywood movie - no class or authenticity.

@@sherryduggar8821 : yes, it was strictly for Hollywood. That is the only reason why such an obviously modern woman as Keira Knightly would be cast as Elizabeth. I saw it once and it was painful to watch. Knightly and whatever charisma-free fellow played Darcy had no chemistry or believability at all. Truly awful. And cramming the plot into a movie’s brief time destroyed whatever was left. Austen is a great writer but even her best story can be ruined.

The problem with film versions is they need to compress the gist of a book into two hours or so. As shown, even a not particularly long book such as P and P requires about six hours to be a truly faithful live reproduction.

Colin Firth's Darcy is just so smoldering; no one else can hold a candle to him.

He is a breath "of fresh air" to the character of Darcy well performed by Colin Firth! I'm so glad he took the offer to play him because no one could perform this character in the way he did. In fact, others tried but failed miserably and for that reason I didn't want to be bother when his pereformance was outstanding!

I love it when Lydia snorts. Very unladylike.

I love Mr.Bennett in the 1995 version. Mrs. Bennett in the 1995 version is the best actress by far.

The 2005 version has its OK points one of which being the gorge Rupert Friend as Wickham and that other guy as Mr Darcy walking across the morning rising damp fields toward Lizzy in all his byronic splendor. But he's not Colin Firth is he? And of course the 2005 is condensed and rushed because it is a feature film few of which are over 2:30 long.
I think it also helped us to see really how desperately poor the lives of those sisters would be if some of them did not marry well.

The unmistakable voice of Arthur Bantry.

The 1995 version is the most sensual and sexy one, just listen to the music.

I'd say is the most detailed and well constructed. The characters are much better developed, the music is perfect and the acting is way more spot on than the previous versions - or the 2014 movie version, I daresay.

I'm not a fan of the Knightley one maybe because I compare it to the 1995.. although both gentleman are to die for.

You can’t really compare, one was a mini series and the other was a movie.

Their acting is pretty much mechanical. Not like in the 1995 version.
