man, these cars you guys are bolting together are fantastic sir, the imperfections are perfect if that makes sense, it’s a lot of fun watching you create keep it up please
Thanks Gregory! Glad you appreciate these ratty muscle cars we throw together. I couldn’t agree with you more these cars are perfect to us with all of there quirks and imperfections.
I like your thinking Harry!! I have been trying to pressure mike into something cool for this thing for months (hopefully CZcams will help push him over the edge)! Motorhome/camper big block is definitely a rad swap!
People who have good friends who love helping you and you help them.Working on these old cars. You can't go wrong. Be glad if you're lucky enough that you have like minded friends. They are few and far between where I live.
Glad you like the duster content! I’m not opposed to the 360 at all! Keep pressuring Mike hopefully you guys will peer pressure him into something awesome haha
Maybe one of those guys that do paintless dent repair can make that quarter look more gooder? A 340 would run great in that thing but those are getting to be like hens teeth to find. A 360 Magnum I think is the one with the roller cam that would be my second choice of small blocks. What would be even better is if he can find a deal on one would be any of the late model Hemis. And yes even though I'm a Chevy guy, I would like to see more videos of this car.😎👍
I dig it. Fisheyes are a sign of oil contamination on the surface. I'm sure you know that already. I don't know if you did, but you should wipe down everything with a wax and grease remover. Great stuff keep it up. Love the novas and the duster.
Hang in there Mike! U got a cool car and a good friend to to make this happen! You'll be on the road, lovin' life, enjoyin' the compliments and the satisfaction of knowing how far this car has come! Keep the updates coming!
Definitely enjoy you're content, yes more on the duster. I'd put a 318 in it,perfect for a daily driver, proven reliable and not expensive to make it sing!
So many people I have talked to had a duster or a nova as there first car. Just good cheap reliable little cars back in the day. Thanks for following along and hope you enjoy!
A not well known but good and affordable motor it a late 80s-early 90s 15 passenger van 360, "pre magnum motor" the fuel injection intake and computer contorted distributor comes right off and the 70s aria small block stuff bolts right on. you can tend to find these vans with lower miles and rusty which makes them pretty cheep sinch most people just scrap them. some of the motors came with really good flowing heads that were a copy of the early 70s 340 heads but with factory hardened seats. If you kick out the windshield and cut a big V out of the top of the cowl and through the dash the motor is super easy to pull, I've done it a few times and it only takes a couple house if you don't' mind braking stuff lol!
Big torque in these light little cars is definitely a recipe for awesomeness! If you can figure out how to plant that power to the pavement your golden!
🎉🎉🎉❤ I like to drive my stuff, the Total Restoration builds are for the guys that have money. I would rather drive my stuff than have it sit in my garage, n stress me n my family out, put myself n my family in debt too our eyes 👀😢 🙃 😐 😑 to have another cool ride?? No thanks, must us family guys don't have 2 max out credit cards out for a build, This is why I've subscribed to your channel. Keep the builds coming, Jason B,Wichita, Ks
Thanks Jason!! I agree with you 100%. I would rather drive and enjoy my hot rods then worry about the kids scratching it with there bicycles lol. Glad you enjoy our projects i appreciate your support!
Get either a 360 out of a dodge truck, or find a mid to late 70s Cordoba with a 400 and stick that in it. I've always been a fan of the dusters and darts. Love the channel and Dan's Novas are sweet.
More duster content it is! Glad you guys enjoyed the car. I guess we will need to keep tabs on this one for sure! Thanks for watching Brian I appreciate it.
I like your thinking Tim! I need CZcams to keep peer pressuring Mike to do something rad with this thing! Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the mopar content.
Magnum engines out of a 90’s truck are great and cheap! I think we need a shootout between the nova and the duster, they were both the entry level muscle cars back in the day!
I’ve been trying to persuade him to use the Durango/pickup motor for a few months now! I don’t see anything but positives!!! Cheap, plentiful, easy to get parts from any auto parts store, serpentine setup, etc, etc. I also think a shootout of the two cars when his is done would be awesome! They are so so similar in construction. I think the wheelbase is nearly identical and the curb weight is within like 50lbs for a v8 car.
General consensus seems to be people like the duster! I didn’t know how you guys would feel about it since the channel is primarily Chevy stuff. Glad you guys enjoyed it and I guess we will be seeing more of it on the channel for sure. Thanks for watching EJ I appreciate your support!
I will be nice to see another car save and back to the streets! Crate motor is probably the easiest but you may find a cheap runner out there. Good luck guys see you on the next video
Great videos on your channel. The duster was produced to compete in the nova market so put an engine in there that is close in size with the nova and lets see the competition. Where are you guys located?
Like the differing vehicle brands. I like Novas', Falcons', and the Chrysler A-bodies...I have a 76 Valiant sedan I got for free with a small block & an A-833 OD (iron case) and a '69 Swinger that was converted to BB in the late-'70's by the original owner in West Texas (where I got it). The sedan is actually more fun, more utilized & a driver that has steering, brake & suspension upgrades that shock people how well it performs- it can also pull 21 MPG on the highway just cruising with it's 318 (Edelbrock intake, TQ set up by a guy who can tune them), better matched cam, dialed-in vacuum advance, dual 2.5" exhaust with a cross-over, 16" x 7" aluminum wheels, 8.75" rear converted to BBP with a 3.23 SG, and a steady speed.
To me this is an awesome combo! I love a little high winding 340 with a four speed in a mopar. Prices on those motors are getting pretty pricey however.
PLEASE! More Duster!!!❤ Great channel, love that it is trying to work on a real budget too.

Yes more content on the Duster a older Camper motor would work I know where there is a 440 in a Dodge camper in Pa
I like your thinking Harry!! I have been trying to pressure mike into something cool for this thing for months (hopefully CZcams will help push him over the edge)! Motorhome/camper big block is definitely a rad swap!
Mike will have 10k in this by June. I can see it in his eyes... lol. Nice vid, love the Nova!
People who have good friends who love helping you and you help them.Working on these old cars. You can't go wrong. Be glad if you're lucky enough that you have like minded friends. They are few and far between where I live.
It’s the people that make these cars so much fun. If it wasn’t for building them with my friends and family it wouldn’t be the same amount of fun.
More Duster!!! And do a stroked 360.
Glad you like the duster content! I’m not opposed to the 360 at all! Keep pressuring Mike hopefully you guys will peer pressure him into something awesome haha

Hello from France 🇫🇷 !
I dig it. Fisheyes are a sign of oil contamination on the surface. I'm sure you know that already. I don't know if you did, but you should wipe down everything with a wax and grease remover. Great stuff keep it up. Love the novas and the duster.

Love the gold member! Hahaha Go Mike go
Definitely enjoy you're content, yes more on the duster. I'd put a 318 in it,perfect for a daily driver, proven reliable and not expensive to make it sing!
Thanks bob! Yea I’m pretty sure this is the route Mike is leaning towards. I’m trying to peer pressure him into making bad decisions tho lol.
my wife first car was a Duster hope to see the rest of the build

Thanks Joe for watching the video and information about the 360 I am going to start looking for one
That’s a cool tip joe! I know Mike likes this idea so maybe he can lock his sights on a rusty van!
Spray Can: Looks Good!
Need more content of the duster
For sure!
2nd time watching. Good Job. Need more content.
I have a 72 Duster, been in the family since it was made, i have lots of duster parts, original buckets im not using (1972), grilles, tail lights, etc
I put a nasty 440 in one and she was bad ASS built trans and stall dang good car miss it to
Big torque in these light little cars is definitely a recipe for awesomeness! If you can figure out how to plant that power to the pavement your golden!
More videos of this car okay 👍
Luv the duster
Obviously I want to see the finished Duster...
Then the finished duster you shall receive!!
YES!! More content! Install a slightly built 318 or 360ci.
Glad you guys found the loudest fuel tank on the planet.
Hahaha mike is a menace

More duster content it is! Glad you guys enjoyed the car. I guess we will need to keep tabs on this one for sure! Thanks for watching Brian I appreciate it.
Let's see it finished with a 360 dual quads great job looks amazing
I like your thinking Tim! I need CZcams to keep peer pressuring Mike to do something rad with this thing! Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the mopar content.

5.7 Chevy !!!
Hahaha I would have mopar purist showing up at my house to burn it down if we did that lol.
360 with a big cam long tube headers it will rip!!!
I know I want Mike to do something like this so bad! It will make this car a blast on the street! Little high revving small block action
Great videos on your channel. The duster was produced to compete in the nova market so put an engine in there that is close in size with the nova and lets see the competition. Where are you guys located?
I like your thinking! I think a shootout between the builds would be awesome. We are located in central NJ
@@hatchsrecreationalengineer1997 just checking i have a good 72 318 here in MO
408 stroker you won't regret it they are cheap to buy and build
I like your thinking James!

Thank God for death wheels 😂
Why not a cheap magnum 360?
How many cans did you end up using for the engine bay??
4 cans
4 cans and definitely glad we primed it before we shot it! I don’t think that paint would have covered over that purple very well at all
dusta is cool i wont to see more
Heck yea more duster it is then!
If I'm not messing with a Chevy well let's just say the only engine for me to put in the duster would be a 440 mag
It’s straight besides the dents
Will it be a drag/streetcar?
It may see the track a few times for a test and tune or a grudge race but I’m pretty sure Mike’s intentions are just to have a fun street car.
How did you clean the rust behind the quarter panels?
340 4 speed
To me this is an awesome combo! I love a little high winding 340 with a four speed in a mopar. Prices on those motors are getting pretty pricey however.
I thought PPG went out of business?
Well the car paint side or it’s just the paint code QQ1
If I didn’t have my charger I’d find a duster again
It may have I don’t know. All I know is that the shopline brand is a division of ppg and that’s what the body shop sold Mike
Put a nice hemi in er
440 swap
How many cans did you end up using for the engine bay?
It wound up needing all 4 cans. If we hadn’t primed over the old purple paint I think we would have been in trouble.
