Luke, you raise a very important point at 19:25; privacy. Of course you do not want to give your location away. If you did, imagine how many people would flock there, crawling through Lone Wolf Mountain. It would look like a Woodstock concert. Your adventures should be enjoyed the way you intended them to be enjoyed: on screen. That, or go out and make your own adventures. We hardly need more encouragement of that sort, as you do a great job of providing it. Thanks, Luke. Awesome video as always!
i come for the storms stories info education sense of humor & much much more.
Best out-music yet. Short and simple.
I love the sound and feel of a good thunderstorm. To me it’s evidence of the power of nature on display.
Nothing like it ??
Ditto I totally agree with you. T Storms are so awesome!⛈🌧
@@jantefft2442 I love to listen to the rain . I listen to a channel of rain and thunder at night. It calms me of the days events and helps me to fall asleep. Nothing like it .
I love it too. I play a storms on CZcams for sleeping and when I have panic attacks it definitely helps.

Come to Italy Luke! My wife and I would be more than happy to show you and Susan around! Davide
Luke/ owl staring contest made you're day? You are one very cool guy in my book!
I love heavy rain and thunder so really enjoyed this video.
With all the rainy adventures you do, I would love to see a video of how you dry everything.
Great stories and wonderful videos. Thank you.
The owl in my oak is enormous, once saw his wing span when I startled him on my patio table looking for food and I SWEAR it had to be 5 feet or better. His hoot is deep and very loud. His mate is also near by, they hoot to each other for hours.
Luke.
Not only is the vehicles steering wheel on the right side. Its also on the correct side of the vehicle.
Cheers from the UK
I absolutely LOVE Storms!!!! I get bumbed out though when you have to end the video or videos during a good storm though 😔 But I understand why 😊😊
Your channel makes me drink a lot of coffee. I work outside every day and you’ve given me ideas on how I can drink coffee at work easier. Really enjoy your content, I vicariously camp by watching seems relaxing. Too many parasitic starving bugs to camp here in mid Georgia. I’m a new sub and I’ll be watching ! Coffee stove purchase coming soon 8
Thank you Luke. Glad y'all are back.
A happy every day belated Mother's day to Susie.
I love the sound of a good thunderstorm, and love that tarp going to go over and watch the tent by naturhike video you have up sounds strange . enjoyed this raining adventure Luke as always
That really is beautiful country.
Oh wow 🤯 oh wow 😳. Great video ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😊. Thanks for your hard work and time 💪😊👍👍👍👍👍. Hello from Indiana USA and this 62 year old lady.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oh wow! Nice owl capture.
That is a party sized tarp! I am with Suzy on the Toyota.
I like it when Luke stops talking, shame it’s not that often
Gewitter ist voll Schön da kann man voll gut Schlafen
I used to throw newspapers as a young kid, back when that was a thing, and one time a great northern owl was sitting on top of a telephone pole. It was gigantic and awesome. I just stopped and looked at him for several minutes. It was way early, like 6 AM and there were no cellphones back then. So I just registered the photo in my mind. And 55 years later it's still as clear as crystal in my mind. One of the coolest life moments ever.
The rain sounds great. Where, I live we got some beautiful rain. It was a blessing because small creatures and plants need rain. I get to see the world with your journey. Thank you so much.
😮good evening Luke stay safe out there .i don't no how you do it
Love the solo adventures. The desert at night is amazing. Stay safe my friend and keep exploring
Glad to see that you and Susie are home safe. Beautiful thunderstorm. Loved the Dogwood petals falling. I heard the 3 snorts! My first vehicle I owned was a 67 Dodge right hand drive mailtruck that I started turning into a camper but went into the service and those plans faded. Perhaps one day I will attempt it.
While I am glad to see that you guys are back here in NC, I respect your privacy and you should never have to worry about people intruding on it. Stay off the radar and keep on posting videos for us.
I will be in Uwharrie for a short truck tent camping trip with the kids and grandkids in a few weeks. I love the mountains of NC.
Stay safe and God bless.
ps, on the church bulletin this morning, with the topic of Mothers day, the preacher had printed Strength and Honor.
Happy Mothers Day to Susie.
It would never occur to me to just go up to someone's house because I watch their videos. That's weird and you can never tell if some nut case might try to hurt you, or your family.
Love all your information on camping gear. Have you ever shown how you clean and repack your equipment?
That is a nice BIG tarp! Lots of room, lots of versatility.
Whilst hard decisions about Bento need to be made, I am sure Suzie will understand as you dive away, why you made the hard choice you did ;-)
Thanks for the adventures and so glad to hear you are taking location precautions. I too would be worried for you and Susie's safety. You never know! Looking forward to your new adventures. 🌲🏕
No venomous snakes? Are you forgetting about timber rattle snakes, eastern diamond back rattle snakes, coral snakes, Pygmy rattle snakes, and cottonmouths? Did you misspeak? ✌🏼❤️
I agree about the bird sounds. Animals are the first to 'announce' bad weather or even a predator nearby. Woods are noisy, you are fine. But when it gets dead quiet, pay attention to your surroundings, whether it's the sky or the area surrounding you.
Yes indeed even in the UK they know!
Dude! That great grey owl!
I would love the right side drive, i was a mailman for 29 years, so i am very used to driving on that side.
Awesome Luke😁
I drive an old Jeep and your off the back tarp configuration has inspired me to do something similar off my rig. I'm thinking of incorporating tarp connection points on a custom roof basket that's got an integrated kayak nest and some provisions for a shovel and some traction boards.
Nice work with that jacket! You should be a product designer! I can't tell you how many products I can point out that are missing one or two little things that could put them over the top! You pout that stuff out all the time. Some company should snatch you up if that didn't already happen. haha.
Gotta love the moody music with the end credits.
Looking forward to the review of the Mongar vestibule.
You Are Amazing And Suzie. And I Say You Keep The Vehicle She doesnt Like And Let Her Keep The One Your driving swap And Enjoy the drive camp😊
It's an awesome experience to see an owl. They are amazing creatures. One of my favorites. Turkeys are cool too but nothing beats an owl.
With all the horrible events that have transpired lately, it is so wonderful to see a good person enjoying their life :) I hope you do another ' bigfoot' video :)
Good Luke! Can't wait to see your adventure video in Utah with Suzie. Glad you let some know about the Map Location and your settings. Some ppl always want to think they know it all 😂
Paddling a canoe today and managed to fall into the lake when I was going to launch it on the W-Coast of Sweden.
It was so funny. 😂😂😂
I love the title of this one! "Forced to set up a quick tarp" Says the man who checks the weather more times as day than he breathes. Cant ever believe you were forced to set it up , rather you went out seeking the storm! lol, another great watch though :)
Such great filmography. It's artful, and I know an incredible amount of work. But thanks for producing such exceptional content. And for feeling like that friend we all have that's just better than us at everything. You are that guy, and its cool. We are not jealous, just kind of in awe.
Im a life long lover of lightning storms the stronger the better - I've seen lightning turn a 150 foot tall pine tree into a burnt out match stick while i and some friends were up in my states mountains hunting - fantastic scene
Good morning, everyone 😘✌️
We have a lot of the beautiful Barred owls where I live in PA. Last summer there was a group of juveniles that was playing and dive bombing around my screen porch for a few weeks. I didn’t get good shots w my camera phone but did get some sounds of them calling each other all evening long. Owls are magnificent creatures!!
I have a great home for Bento and live close by so you could visit anytime. Have a herd of land cruisers and can always use 1 more. Let me know. Thanks, Ken
Funny thing, I live in the Mohave Desert in Arizona and yes, it is raining right now which is unusual but very appreciated (fills Lake Mead and the Colorado River and the Aquifer). So nice you got the owl sighting and photo! Yes, seeing the owl would be something to make one's day. Your videos are such fun to watch and learn from and just enjoy!
I love the ominous music!
Anoraks. I have never owned one for(probably) the same reason. I hope the folks in your area appreciate the local talented tailor. Cudos (whatever those are) to the viewer who sent the idea. No idea LWM was so far away. I was a mail man USPS for twenty years and driving the right side vehicle was never a problem. I got used to it the first day.
Glad you had a safe and adventurous trip! Looking forward to watching both videos! Although I have to admit watching your videos make me homesick for the mountains of WNC, really miss them in spite of being in sunny Florida.
Yesterday, I did my first bike adventure for the season. That gave me a chance to try out my brand new iPhone 14. I took a few pictures of things that seem interesting. Who needs a Go Pro. The pictures seem of good quality. I gave up my car 10 years ago. My drivers license almost two years ago. I do not miss either one. I am trying to decide which I like best. Biking or Hiking. I restored three bicycles last Summer. The same principles used in RVing can be applied to cycling. I hope we do not have the fires we have had for the past years. I will always enjoy your videos.
Luke tell Susie she has to "suck it up" and learn to love Bento. XD
Luke some of these scene shots are getting so damn good. Please make us your first short movie! I’m imaging something like a Stephen King creepy short story! Absolutely loved this episode!! Strength & Honor!
I always look forward to your videos. Especially with the rain. Glad you and Susie had good time on your trip.
I'm putting this on watch later! Love your stuff, but todays Mothers day, and I'm taking my MIL out for Chinese! Here's wishing you all a happy Mothers day!
Lone Wolf is beautiful in the Spring. Take care, be well
Japan: Soto owns a campsite with specialty gear! You should check it out. Also, there are numerous “re-sell” stores, that have primo camping gear….Don’t laugh, but I think the store name is “Hard-off”. Yes. Used books are “Book-Off”. Good stuff!
I should go to sleep because I have work tomorrow (today) but... Luke is out playing in storms again, so of course Im gonna watch!
Love the cinematography in your videos 🖤 Do you never worry about lightning hitting a tree near you? Id like to not worry about that.
I've camped in the rain under a tarp for 2 weeks and the pitter pat of rain for days can almost drive you insane. All you do is sit and think. So, we had 2 cases of beer apiece on ice to make madness go away. Along with other party favors. It turned out to be more fun than first expected. Being outside, away from work and the irritations of modern life, it really recharges your battery. Some of my best thinking was done under a tarp in a long rainstorm.
Hey Luke, I think your music selection is top tier - would you mind including song names/links in the bio, even if they are "stock" tracks?
Saves me having to try and "shazzam" them!! 😂👍
I would use it for day use only - not overnight. I do not consider it to be a 4 season tent. But I do like it based on size and would put a chair on the inside, and it should be easy to clean with no floor.
Hi Luke, if Susie likes Bento as much as you do, instead of selling it, maybe you can consider the option to convert it to the left side driving system.
Absolutely love this episode!! Strength & Honor!
You are so blessed Luke. Love your videos as I watch and enjoy the outdoors through your experiences when I cannot get out there. Never been to North Carolina but have been to The Great Smokey Mountains in Tennesee. Such beautiful area of the US. I live in Washington State. You and your wife must come up here to the amazing rainforests. Camp in Olympic National Park. Van camping in our national forests. Welcome to my paradise and favorite place in the universe. Try our coffee up here. Cheers to you.
Owls are the coolest, followed by turkeys!
@TheOutdoorGearReview In the video you reference 100 inches of rain fall per year & many of your shelter videos are based around rain. I live in the rain shadow of the Cascades in central Washington (State) we get 6 to 7 inches of precipitation per year. Rain fall and condensation is not something the really factors in to shelter selection for me. I'd love to see additional information on more products other than shelters. I have been a subscriber for several years and love the channel. It seems like it has become very shelter based. Also more lunch chats or fireside chats would be great. Best of wishes to you and Susie, hope you stay well and flourish regardless of content uploaded. Relax by a nice fire and don't push yourselves to make product content, just enjoy nature & bring us along for the adventure.
i love to do photography and in my state we have several kinds of owls, im hoping to one day actually photograph one
Luke Bento been a right hand drive and besides being highly sought after Toyota 4×4 would easily sell here in Australia!!
Japan is awesome. I've had the opportunity to travel there twice and it is amazing, especially if you can get outside of the big cities and explore towns and villages that tourists don't necessarily travel to. Had hoped to take my kids there before I turned 50, but we decided on an Iceland/England/Ireland trip before the pandemic, that and changes in our family have thus far prevented me from taking them. But definitely want to get back. I think you and Suzie would really like Iceland too.
👍👍 be safe. ...Alan in 🇨🇱
Why not just back the truck up! 😜😂
Gotta love these WNC surprise Tstorms! S&H👍
Glad yall are home, lone wolf Mt. Looks like where I live in ky. Love it.stay safe and take care of Susie.
Japan is great. I was stationed in Okinawa for 2 years. I absolutely loved the island and the mainland. the people are amazing, the sites are phenomenal, and the culture is 2nd to none. if you make this your decision you will not be disappointed.
Awesome journey for ya'll out west! Both there and in YOUR neck of the woods are two place I wanna photograph!
Nice video mate
I saw an owl 3 or 4 months ago in our neighbors tree,, I actually got a video of it watching us.. so cool... i was a little concerned about our little dogs,, but the owl didn't seem interested in anything.. It was just chilling for awhile then flew off.. another great thunderstorm video! and also i enjoy all your reviews.. 👍
I like the midevil steaks lol
Awesome video !
Great cam work and the thunder sounded epic .
S&H
Who in the world would just show up at someone else's home? As always, wonderful video. Absolutely adore the rain.
Glad to see your back safe
Nice kick back and relax video.
I love a rainy noght
Good to have you back my friend
A small family company, with a very small line of products, makes a very similar rain jacket, with a zipper, for a very affordable price. Their trekking poles are amazing as well! Montem is the company.
Thank you Luke for the video.
If you have to sell it let the mail carriers and newspapers know It would be great for them.
Great video, Luke. Strength and honor @
Great video , just wondering here…..you got rid of your army truck because it was too unique and people could follow you home , but you bought a Toyota Land Cruiser with right hand drive …..I’m sure you blend right in lol
👍👍👍!!!
Adventurers learn new things, take risks, expand out of small boxes. Keep the Bento, man. Susie, it takes a bit but you will get it. MILLIONS of people have before you, soo, yeah, git your learn on. That Bento rocks.
Love love love your videos. My niece is in Japan with her husband, he is stationed there and now he is in Alaska for a month so my niece is alone in Japen on base, but doing well
Great stuff. Oh my, a rainstorm. I'll quickly set up a 10x5m tarp with an egg scrambler, coffee maker and bacon crisper. In real life, I've got 50mph winds, pissing rain and I set up a black bin bag against a tree and rock. Love your stuff dude. Keep going🏴💪❤️
The best to you Luke...Have Fun😊😊😊😊
Impromptu works. Go Luke.
your the only camping guy or gal i watch who doesnt have a dog. in my world thats big lol
Keep bento it’s practice if you ever come to Australia or Japan on a trip.
My wife and I have lived here in E Tn Mts our whole lives. Shes from here and I still have to tell her just because it says 15-20% chance of rain doesnt mean it will rain but could. Its like that everyday for 9 months outta the year. Always plan for rain. Spring til fall its litterally hit or miss with isolated t-storms and rain.
Happy Mother's Day, Susie!
