I JUST FINISHED WATCHING THE EPISODE LET'S GOOOOO. 🔥🔥🔥
The action in this ep was unreal. Takayuki Kikuchi's use of dynamic 3D backgrounds gave me hard Ufotable vibes, and the animators pulled his ambitious ideas off so well. I was expecting something good, but they completely blew past my expectations.
I always found blending 3d backgrounds with 2d characters really cool. This isn't an exception.
Remember the amphisbaena gight in danmachi? That was pretty cool.

@@phthaloboy5558those were necessary for what's to come, also some people mentioned those events were occuring simultaneously. Although, I would have like if they did all of that in a single 5 min shot .
The hype level in this episode just kept on leveling up second after second, minute after minute. It was just so goddamn PEAK 🔥🔥🔥
I couldn't get into this show; but I'm glad that its success has made anime fandom take notice of A-1 Pictures; I've always felt that they don't get the credit they deserve.
It's more the team of talented animators than anything. A studio is as good as the team it manages to build. Although yes A-1 pictures does deserve recognition they have been delivering well animated shows
What made it difficult for you to get into the show?

@@xdavier31 also doesnt help imo, that the dialogue is incredibly boring or straight up bad. The amount of times characters were just exposition dumping doesnt help.
But action is damn good so...
@@vingvingduy1779nah the exposition dump is needed, and you’ll regret saying this later on in the story. It’s very good exposition/dialogue, some foreshadowing here and there too.

I don’t think the character designs for sung is inconsistent, I think it’s on purpose to show that he’s changing.
It must have been hell for the compositing team in integrating all the different complex 2d and 3d elements and make it bleand so seamlessly.
Best fight so far in the series. And once season 2 arrives this year, let me tell you haven't seen anything yet.
For somone who knows nothing about animation this really lets me appreciate how much work they put in. They really are doing SL justice with this Anime. 🥶🌀

for many moments in the Igris fight sequence, the camera work felt straight up like Land of the Lustrous

I always complained years prior scenes that had CGI armor now that I understand a little bit more I don't think people realize how much of a treat Igris is not having any CGI. Really hope they take the same approach.

@@DarkEdge1231 Bleach animation cannot be like this because the directors and higher ups demand of recreating Kubo's difficult art style consistently and throughout the sequences, hence animators don't like to work on TYBW😂
@@Tsukinohanax Whomp whomp. But I don’t know about that. This episode the characters seem pretty on model to me and not that stylized. I mean ep 6 & 7 of Cour 1 of TYBW was kinda like this. The usage of CG is something TYBW tried to do so it’s something not to far off what TYBW tried to do.

I said that because of the strict direction animators don't like to key animate on Bleach and hence we didn't see high level Sakuga eps in cour 2.

There's something about the fluidity of this fight that was different. The first action filled episode directed by Takayuki kikuchi and for that to be on a level this high, is amazing. Really reminded me of Attack On titan's scouts ODM scenes by WIT studio(although Wit was on another level with levi vs Kenny)

This solo leveling fantastic ep like from every angle(background,animation,choreo,compositingetc). Well I am also hoping for bleach c3 to have animation like this and yamaji fight and recently we just got news that dubbing for ep 6 of c3 is completed so hoping that the ep with fights are very well done especially bazz vs jugo, ichigo vs uryu,mayuri vs pernida,shunsui vs lille and remaining ichibei ep. I guess I am askijg to much but I really want bleach to have better for c3 entirely.
There's no definite info about the staff or the release date as of now. I think the production might be struggling as it was already in cour 2. Delayed naruto episodes, delayed cour 2 ep and also an unfinished last episode, it all indicates that studio pierrot is struggling and they're probably struggling to even finish the production with a respectable quality. I'm afraid that cour 3 would be another cour 2 scenario although these are just assumptions and we'll have to wait for the trailer but I hope they somehow gather good freelancers and staff members like they did in cour 1
@@just1narcissist i really don't know what the issue is with these special naruto episodes. i highly doubt that they can't just release four mediocre episodes to fulfill their promise. either they're waiting to drop them with something else, or yamashita is directing all the episodes lol
@@just1narcissist The fact that we don't have a staff list and release date may be the opposite of a good thing. There was a break of 6 months between the 1 cour and the 2nd. 2 cour ended on the last day of September, If we go by this logic, we should have gotten 3 cour this April, but we don't even have a release date. This may be better as they have more time in production and they are definitely making 3 cour longer than 2 chour which is very good. But only time will tell how it will be, nothing to guess. I'm still not hopeful that 3 cour will be better in terms of animation. Unfortunately Pierrots can't hire good animators and also animators are still constantly busy somewhere. Also a big downside is that Pierrots have been worse than they used to be for a long time now. Last years they have production problems with anime, their approach is terrible. Bleach TYBW is the best thing they've released in a while and Bleach is awesome to me, but the only downside is that the animation is limited and unstable and not at its full potential. Better to expect nothing than to be even more disappointed later.
@@lyn0005 That's how i really think. Yamashita is working also on Bleach but he had barely any time and appereances in 2 cour. And i thought maybe he is in charge of all 4 Naruto episodes which would make a lot of sense. He is the main and one of the best animators of Naruto franchise so it will be logical if he works on it. I don't believe he's not involved in any way.
@@fantomquest6330well right now hashimoto isn't well and I heard that wakayabashi will be having more role in this cour (just heard) and right now as we got news from kubo's post on klub outside that they just finished ep 6 dubbing of c3 which I think it shows how they taking enough time for ep to make and if we go by c2 thing they have to rush it and it would be around 11 or 12 ep by now or already on 13 ep but having just 6 ep complete in dubbing shows they taking time. And if director itsumi's statement abt having no priority ep but entire anime season high quality is true and if bleach is something from which they trying to redeem then it is a good step to step up.

Sukuna vs Mahoraja was special in its own way. The Blu-ray version is top notch.
Difference is, solo levelling had time to cook while JJK schedule was extremely tight

sukuna vs mahoraga is one of the greatest anime fights in history in terms of animation lol it's 13 minutes straight of insanity

My only problem with solo leveling and is apparent in this episode the most is that jinwoo gets the shit beat out of him with no hope then miraculously wins suddenly it really takes away from the battles once they’re done
Honestly if it means we get episodes like this, I hate episode 7.5 slightly less, though honestly, I may have even preferred a whole week off instead of filler in a 12 episodes cour.
Igris was so powerful cause he absorbed the animation budet for all the Knights

Imagine making one of the best animations of the season, with very good storyboards, 3D backgrounds, good music, and then you interrupt the combat from time to time to show scenes unrelated to the current combat, what a way to diminish the momentum you are building. I honestly don't know why they were thinking, instead of presenting all those scenes at the beginning and showing the combat in all its splendor and without interruptions at the end, but I guess this is a problem of someone at A-1 pictures, because in Fate/Apocrypha exactly the same thing happened.
On a side note SJW never learns, don't keep the teleportation stone in your hands during combat.
As a manhwa reader, i think sung jinwoo inconsistent design in this episode took me out here and there. Whereas episode 9 had very consistent and clean with it's character design. From next season sung's design remains same, so i hope it becomes more consistent or hoping for Manhwa accurate design.
As much as I am a fan of SL, there are some things that are starting to annoy me; the approach to overly "telling and showing" (the use of Sung's inner monologue of explaining everything that happens when fighting) and the common trend within some of the fights (Snake, Spider, Wolves and Igris), where Sung struggles for most of the fight, and then defeats the opponent with willpower within a couple of seconds later. These things were probably in the Manhwa and less noticeable within its format (read it long ago), but this is probably a personal gripe with the anime.
There wasn't any will power bs in this fight he was extremely lucky to catch igris off guard

yeah the show has pretty poor fight structuring and writing in the manhwa; and that stays the same in the anime. it’s even worse in fact as they’re bringing in expository dialogue from the light novels too.

The hypocrisy of @Kannas Ricebowl, needs to be studied, when solo leveling has speed lines and is carried by compositing, composition, voice acting, elevated source material and Osts, and get 1 or 2 episodes with great animation he defends it and says the adaptation is fantastic
but when bleach tybw has it, it's a problem, and let it be known he hasn't even seen all of bleach, but just hates on it for views and calls the fans delusional lol
I mean he hated on the osts for bleach, so that pretty much confirms he's just a hater, or he loves to troll, either way, you don't need to keep making these comments all the time

The use of speed lines in this ep was justified as he said in the vid that 3d backgrounds limit the animators from conveying the fast motion in a cut and also because this ep was relatively harder to make cuz animators had to draw Igris frame by frame. Although I think he dislikes bleach a bit but he praises it for whatever it deserves to be. The use of speed lines in bleach in way too much and especially in every single fight of cour 2, it's genuinely disappointing

i feel like probably pretentious has been extremely overly praising on solo leveling. the show has been looking fine overall, with some decent cuts every few episodes, and he talks about it like it’s a modern perfect production.
@@cwega2463 yeah, completely agree. That’s why I think it’s important to not inflate his opinion as correct just because he has a high level of technical knowledge. He’s VERY new to anime and has a lot to learn still as a viewer.

animation is pretty good, but the story sucks ass. gotta love a generic power fantasy about an edge lord MC purely becoming more powerful with almost no struggle; with no world building, solid characters, or good writing in terms of plot development. it’s simple in all the bad ways; and edgy in all the cringe ones.
