- This week on Third Rate content, we visit and explore two locations in the Shropshire village of Baschurch.
The railway station of Baschurch has stood disused for nearly 65 years after serving the village and Shrewsbury-Chester railway for over 100 years on today’s video we visit it and see what’s left.
The ancient parish church dates back to the medieval period, was restored by Thomas Telford in the 1700s and is the key to much history.
Find out about these places and more on TRc.

Baschurch does indeed have a fascinating history folklore. I suspect, in part, it is because the Hundred of Pimhill along with Oswestry was a Welsh administered part of the Marches.
In later times during the harvest festival Baschurch residents would hold feasts and dances in local fields on the way home from Shrewsbury.
This is very interesting information. Thank you for contributing 👍
Very intriguing history about Baschurch and its echoes of past history. Most enjoyable, thank you Dan.

I went to the chip shop about 20 years ago. It was very good then and I hope it is just as good today. So many chippies today are crap.

@@thirdratecontent585 The opening music is awesome. Where did you get that from?
There’s a link to it in the description box below the vid 👍
@@thirdratecontent585 Thanks.
Incidentally, this sounds similar to the sort of music I would expect to find in a Skyrim Music Mod. Is that where you found it?
@@knownonsenseman8283I found it by browsing YT. Tho it definitely has Elder Scrolls vibes. In On that subject Shropshire reminds me of Oblivion/Cyrodill quite a bit 🤔👍
