I believe this scene is important in the character development of the phantom, and to gain a better understanding of his methods. The watch might be metaphorical for an item, or feeling, the phantom uses to lure his victims into the trap. If that is the Nikki Grace's mansion in the first few minutes, it also shows he's found the "opening" into the fictional plain occupied by Nikki Grace/Sue Blue which is another important point
I'm trying to work out the scenes where it appears that the 'lost girl' is married to the Phantom. Scenes between Sue and her husband echo scenes shown between the lost girl and the Phantom, and yet other scenes show her husband as somebody else who goes to work at the same circus... He is concerned when he sees her 'on the street' instead of 'in our house'...

This is such an intense scene
I really wish Lynch had left this in the final cut... or at least an edited version of it..
Of all the deleted scenes, this is the only one I am certain of that should not have ben cut.

Best part
is this about selling your soul to the devil?
yes, he is the Soul Collector, an evil magician who can steal souls and jinx a soul into suffering through another soul's experience.
@@oleksybabansky what is the soul collector? Is this a reference to a religious text?

Do you know what the background music playing in this is called? Thanks
I think it is an unreleased instrumental of David's song Speed Roadster.
@@jeremystewart7973 I wish it was possible to find. I can only find the version with vocals.
@@EnderSpy358 Is this without the vocals?
