  • Doesn't get much better than this. Great live version from a Pebble Mill broadcast in 1994.

Lyrics, melody, the pure voice with such haunting tones, guitaring - everything is so sublimely crafted together that it transports you to another planet - a planet of angels, a surreal experience. This is just sublime.

@@juanarto Emmylou is one of the truest most beautiful echoes of the Gospel. Aspects of the modern world just does not understand.
Faith - unquestioning belief that does not require proof or evidence.
Hope - a feeling that what is wanted will happen, desire accompanied by expectations.
Charity - the agape love of God for their fellow man.
Prudence - quality of being prudent, exercising sound judgement.
Justice - quality of being righteous, impartiality, fairness.
Temperance - quality of sobriety, moderation, self restraint.
Courage - facing anything recognized as dangerous, difficult, or painful.
Strength, according to Tolkien, manifests itself most clearly not in the exercise of power but rather in the willingness to give it up.
When you are moved by the Spirit you manifest love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. These are the weapons we use in battle. Against such things there is no law.
The devil seems to have thought he had our Lord Jesus exactly where the adversary wanted him to be. I may be misunderstanding the scenario. But our Lord Jesus seems to have walked willingly into the pain and suffering of His Crucifixion on the Roman cross. I suppose the adversary was devastated when he realized the Suffering Servant he had killed was actually his Master. ❤
I also was with you in weakness and fear, and in great trembling, and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of mankind, but on the power of God.
Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; but just as it is written:
“Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard,
And which have not entered the human heart,
All that God has prepared for those who love Him.”
I Corinthians 2: 8-9 heart Self esteem is not built at someone else's expense. A genuine aura of reciprocity shares energy freely with everyone. Saint John XXIII once said, “What unites us is much greater than what divides us.” And I firmly believe this to be true to the depths of my God given soul.
It is true that our hearts were written in the Sacred Heart of the Almighty way back in The Beginning. Our conscience is a reflection of the Eternal Light that created us. But if we die without God our consciences will die without God. God is love. And without Love there is no God. Love the Lord with all you heart, my friend. If our conscience reflects on the Eternal Light that created us we can perceive it from our limited human perspective as Angelic Virtues. When our consciences are humbly aligned with God's Holy Will, we confidently follow God's Holy Will like the Charge of the Light Brigade - here are some of the deeper facets of the Eternal Divine Refection of Christ's Love.
Emmylou rebuked Satan's crown and blessed us with the Eternal Virtues of the Virgin Mary.
The Lord rebuke our pride. The Lord bless our humility.
The Lord rebuke our greed. The Lord bless our charity.
The Lord rebuke our wrath. The Lord bless our kindness.
The Lord rebuke our envy. The Lord bless our patience.
The Lord rebuke our lust. The Lord bless our chastity.
The Lord rebuke our gluttony. The Lord bless our temperance.
The Lord rebuke our sloth. The Lord bless our diligence.
This multi-faceted perception of God should not be conflated with God Himself. This is our human perception of our experiences of God’s interaction with us. But as James 1:17 yet states, every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. As 1 John 1:5 states, this then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
