My Step-Father purchased a the exact Cougar Eliminator except it had the 351C engine new from a dealer in Vicksburg, MS. I've owned 5 Cougars 3 1967's & 2 1969's one being an Competition Yellow Eliminator 390GT powered parts car & the other was a 1 owner all original 351W. Sold them as a pair to be restored as an Eliminator. Thanks for sharing 🍺 🎣
Who doesnt love a Cougar?😍
Being as rare a specimen as this is, I can't imagine WHY you would even consider selling it.
The only Ford product / model I ever truly appreciated. Love it.
Buddy of mine in High School had a Blue one. His dad had bought it new. Was one of the Coolest Fords I ever ran into, personally
My High School car was a 1967
Mercury Cougar, was Metal Flake
Blue with a modified 289. Loved
that car.
Can't say I've ever seen one in person when they're one of a kind that's what we like
My dad had a 69 cougar back in 1987 he he sold.it for $500 because he lost his job and needed money to put food on the table. One day I will buy him another.cougar.
Close match to the 1 I had in 1977....miss that car!
When I was a kid a friend had a 70 ,4sp with a 351 Cleveland and that car was fast
my dream car since i was super young. ill never be able to afford one but i wish.
Lots of respect to whoever restored this car. Very meticulous, not a single detail was missed. Easily a six figure restortion right there.
...it has a few missed details, mainly under the hood and undercarriage. Still a beauty though.
Your passion for this car is infectious lol I love it too
Beautiful Car!! If I had the money I will buy that ASAP
I’ve got 2 1970 cougars. This one is gorgeous beautifuly restored
Love this car ive had two Cougars at same time .A 1984 an a 1981. I sold one then bought it back .
I am licking my chops like a young puppy looking at supper.
Most Cougers hang out at singles bars.
My uncle bought a 1970 Eliminator. Grabber Blue with a 428 Cobra Jet. C6 Auto. Holy Shit was that car amazing. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 11. Ive been a car nut ever since.
Cougar eliminator? That's my nickname.
LOL Takes a minute. I see what you did there. LOL
Line 'em up and knock the meat off those curtain's! 😆
Too funny
I picked up on that instantly, my bad.
😂
I miss my 67 XR7, that car is perfect.......
Perfect combination of looks of the 69ish era?? This is a uniquely sweet ride. Love the cat on the front. Its a visual that a predator is comming toward you.
Hey Greg. I have a friend who used to own a 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator that was yellow with black interior. It was equipped with a 351 Cleveland and matched with an automatic transmission.
My favorite COUGAR!! -
What a rare Beauty!! WOW
😲😲👍
Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹👍
A very beautiful car. Smooth engine too
My brother-in-law had one. He was a Ford engineer in the 60s and 70s.
A friend of mine back in the day had one. 428 corbra jet. Automatic transmission.he let me drive it a few times.loved it.didnt need to brake stand.just stomp on the pedal and tires would spin. He also had 62 Corvette 327 duel point that I also drive. I liked the cougar way better.
Yeah this is the one!
Wow! What a beauty!
Absolutely stunning!!!
Cant believe am the first who reacts , looking from Holland , great show guys
Had a '70 Cougar XR7 in high school with a 351 Cleveland in it. Believe it or not I got it from my grandmother who baught it new. She wanted to 'slow down' so she baught a new 1984 Buick Skyhawk, mission accomplished for her. This makes me miss it. Same orange color but white vinyl top and white interior.
Wow, I used to own one back in the 70s a competition yellow Boss 302... dragged the hell out of it blew a piston then rebuilt by Bill Maier Racing...equipped with all the aftermarket race stuff...then sold it to a guy who wanted to restore it to original. I regret selling it to this day. I'm wondering where the car is now!
Another great video and a great looking car!!!
Beautiful specimen. But rarity doesn't always correlate to a great or even good musclecar. I just pulled out of my old magazine collection an April 1970 issue of "Car Life" with a full road test on a 70 Cougar Eliminator with the Boss 302 mill and a 4.30 Detroit Locker rear end. The best they could do was 15.8 seconds at 90 mph. Top speed was a sad 104. That was with their best driver and crew of factory mechanics present and involved. It was a lengthy article and the testers were suitably underwhelmed, as evidently was the buying public...thus the rarity. I once drove (hard) a new 70 428 Eliminator. Mom worked at a Merc dealer back in the autumn of 69 and the sales manager let me drive a brand new 428 4 speed they had just got in. Now THAT car made sense!
351 and 390 motors were also available for these back then. There was a wide range of performance available, depending on what motor was in it.
Orange colour is very beautiful
Beautiful Car!
This is one great car , nice and straight
Super Sweet ride.
SWEET!
Everybody wants a good looking cougar 😃😉
Omg what a beautiful car
Awesome!!
Beautiful car
I have a 1969 xr7 cruise control, safety feature package, convertible, and air conditioned. 1 of 300 made, just swapped out the heater core and the turn signal switch, stop by cougar guy. It’s not it the best shape but she’s the only one like her i’ve ever seen
You have the Best cars
Had a 67 w/302 black on black with side pipes. Damn I cry every time I think about selling it.
What a BEAUT!
Magnifique ! 👌
Nice car I had a 1968 XR7 Cougar
great maslkara and it's a pity that there is no translation in Russian but still I put a like for the super channel where there are super legendary cars
I have a 1967 xr7, it's awesome
Wow,better than the day it was made.
Nice!!
Great content! Thanks.
Nice
My uncle had one of those but his had a 390 hp engine he put it in his race car and never lost a rave
Beautiful car! Some incorrect items & details, but quite rare. Google the VIN (0F91G508426) for some history on this one. Hopefully it will find an owner this time around. GLWS.
Buy it Greg. You are always talking about your old merc
180 large. Whew
Nice car. I knew it would cost to own it so I went to the site to see how much. I'm now in bed with an Ice pack cursing my curiosiity.1st too..
I had a nice 68, Primer gray. never got it painted. Got rear ended and she went to the grave.
Sounds like a thrashing machine!
I had a 1967 Cougar. Be curious if this 1970 will also do this. If you put the 4 way flashers on and also the left turn signal , both of the sequential tail lights go on and flash outward . Looks really cool at night. Great car for whoever buys it. .
Thats pretty cool, i did not know that, i wonder if the mustangs did that to.
👏🏼 ❗️
A Jeep .... ? if only time travel were a real thing ;) I found my Granddads 68 Cornet by the way . I took almost a year to track it down but I got it .
If I ever win the lottery I’m taking the first available flight to Detroit (although that may be some time in the current situation) and I’m going to buy one (or two) of your amazing cars, drive one across America with my wife then bring both home ! .... or I should say all three 😂 !
Are you thinkin' about it, Greg?
Oh my...
Mustang cousin 70 cougar 50 yrs ago
Friend had same car. Except it was a light blue. Unfortunately his garage caught on fire and destroyed it. Along with a 69 Shelby.
🔥Hot Wheels🔥
And its only 170k... Not joking. I had one at 16. Traded my sis for her 67 Shelby at 17. Our Dad was a Ford dealer. We were spoiled rotten.
One. Bad. Cougar.
$179,000 Holy FCK
Like the blue ones better.
Cougaracha!
billions and billions
If I were a billionaire these guys would get a lot of business from me. 180k, yah if I had bill g or warren b's money, this would be my car to drive on fridays, lol.
🙏👍💪♥️
I don’t recall the tail lights being blacked out by the factory.
Only on the eliminators we’re the grill and taillights blacked out this car is correct
How much for the boss cat ?.....
