I feel like that's part of the joke (smoking marijuano adds this self-reflective dimension that makes the self-deprecation funnier) -- But there is so much in T&E that's weirdly for high people. I mean, all of the weird bodily jokes, weird noises, stuttering laughter. The timing of so many jokes... -- Anyways, I could go on, but that's my take.

I have always thought Tim and Eric were very creative, and funny, and the like. But there is just SO much sub-text going on in this skit... it's brilliant. It's simply brilliant. Love this for its comedic value and social commentary.

@@strimbimmin328the first few times I watched this show I was completely sober and I loved it. Watching it on various drugs of course left me in various moods, sometimes depressed. I still like this show most while sober so I pick up on the colder satircal elements that I feel are the best part of the show. The surreal elements are great too but the T/E sketches about the drudgery of office work or how horrible people can be are my favourites
always great to see how other comedians fit into T&E's style.

It's them making fun of interviewers who think they don't take their work seriously. It's basically them taunting them.
@Doctors Office (In my opinion.) Your comment might be sarcasm because my original comment sounds kinda brash, but whatever you got me going anyway... Also the title is "Focus on comedy" but this particular video does not actually talk about comedy in the trad Norm McDonald sense, as a craft. So in the end you are just watching three people in hollywood talking about how confused and stoned they are as if anyone thinks that is interesting or insightful. A lot of entertainment centered interviews, in music and TV are obviously more sensational and congratulatory than they are critical and analytical. The good ones come off as if the interviewer understands the subject and the subject is able to let their guard down. The bad ones are self-centered and pre-decided by press releases. I have sat through a lot of shitty interviews with artists on youtube, and that is why I find this funny. I also get the argument that having to explain comedy so much as I am doing is ridiculous, and while im not saying this is a perfect piece of comedy, I do see how they craft scenarios that are ridiculous on multiple levels, and they leave so many clues that the world they are presenting is far more absurd under the surface. Analyzing the stuff that grabs me about Tim and Eric is fun for me, but i also understand that they can be boring and/or confusing to others.

Their comedy in some ways reminds me of the early 70s saturday morning kids show 'The Banana Splits'.. That show used a lot of exaggerative sound effects and visual repetitive loops for the skits between the cartoons like Tim & Eric use
