The joke about not wanting to be a bad father and so many movies, books, and everclear songs written about bad fathers and not wanting to “inspire art”, was an incredible double entendre. The lead singer of the band everclears name is Art. Great joke MIB.
That's hilarious and would've gone right over my head without your comment; thanks for taking the time to share that info!
Wow. So that was just a little side joke for the four Everclear fans. Nice.
these comments man I forgot there is a whole generation of people who never knew Michael Ian Blacks comedy and now think he is an up and coming comedian like he hasn't been doing this since the 90s lol.
Some people have lives and don't have time to see every single person that appears on TV.
right?!? i mean between stella, the state and wet hot american summer he is iconic
he's not famous for a reason, mate. But comments like this make him look worse than he already does (baby bit was genius tho) cuz what you're saying is "He's been doing comedy since birth n he still ain't shit"
I like how he doesn't go "umm" after every punch..basically begging others to recognize when to laugh
I hate it when comics do the "um" thing. It was big in the late 80s early 90s. Now it's all about being a non chalant bad ass that capitalizes off insulting drunken hecklers. A few are good at it, I.e. bill burr, but theres a surge of wiggers trying it insult hecklers while wearing a ball cap and holding their crotch. Those are not comedians , they are attention whore douchebags .
That was the best worst impression ever... it was on point
Reeeeeally thought this was gonna be about the Michael B Jordan movie.
The State was my childhood. Michael Ian Black is great.
The State and Viva Variety
But why is he doing one long Mike Burbiglia impression?
“yeUH im thA sinGAh of creeEYUAHD”
Wet Hot American Summer!
I had no idea he did stand up, he's great.
To everyone welcoming him back or discovering him, this was 7 years ago. So, there's that.
"And I don't believe either of us" 😂 my husband and I had been together 6 years before we had a kid, he's almost 18 now and we STILL aren't prepared to be parents. It's impossible to be prepared for the range of "kid" stuff that happens and they keep changing as they get older. And yeah, the "Creed" song was a big deal for us when I was pregnant, it was really popular 18 years ago. But I still like it, I have to admit.
I have to be honest, I initially read the first bit as your husband was 18 after you had been together for 6yrs and I was not so much concerned with your parenting anymore. Glad I got that sorted.
@@bradagee9041 - I laughed so hard at this, my husband would laugh too. He's 2 years older than I am, we met when I was 21. Although we figured out we did have the same pediatrician as kids so maybe I DID meet him when he was 12? 😉
I waited to get married and have kids until I was 30. Now I'm 38, our oldest is 6 and we have 3 kids. Turns out, still not ready to be a parent. More so, sure. There are some tricks you pick up with each one. But kids tend to keep coming up with new ways to make you doubt you have any idea of what you're doing.
I lost it during the "essence of the chourus" lol
here is your Oscar host right here. He has gotten even funnier with time, I loved him on The State
It’s amazing how well he’s aged. He’s still pretty sharp. And that baby shakin bit was special.
We laugh, but there will be at least one new parent who watched this, and out of sheer frustration will throw their baby to try to get it to stop crying.
...and the news of that will give MIB material for his next stand up special.
My experience like this involved a Nissan commercial when my kid was about to be born ... I was so pissed that it made me break down like this that I’ve never bought a Nissan since
I haven't heard or seen from this guy in years! It's good to see he's still active.
I was actually trying to think of a time I found him funny. Stopped this halfway through.
I can't remember what it was I first saw him on when I was younger but I'm thinking he might of had some show on either cc or spike called Michael and Michael
I watched so much "Another Period" that I almost forgot what he sounds like.
Does anyone think he has the same tone of joke delivery as Mike Birbiglia? His cadence is very similar.
Pretty similar - but Pete Holmes also had almost the exact same Shake Your Baby joke earlier this year
His earlier work didn't have that same delivery. It was more monotone and deadpan delivery. At least what I remember.
3:00
Camera guy, go left or right a little. Canal St. doesn't look correct.
Took me a few tries to figure out what you meant. That's fantastic! hahahaha
Ironically right after he talks about trying to impregnate his wife
His face looks like it's deepfaked into his head
I'm so glad that I got snipped.
One day, I hope to be man enough to violently cry to Creed while driving around in a new beetle.
@@CanalTremocos I'm hoping to be Man enough to be able to restore the vw beetle I eventually cry in.
It's nice to see that Phil Stubbs finally found a get rich scheme that works for him. Love him!
Michael Ian Black is a legend. He was in The State and Stella. Glad to see him still doing stand up.
Stella is so underrated. I still throw on the shorts whenever I need a good laugh. That whole crew of The State are genius.
GREAT MICHAEL IAN BLACK STAND UP !!!1
Lol I loved that song going to listen to it next lol
Excellent delivery ❤👍🤗
Hah this was really funny stuff man. Nice seeing this guy in the spot light
With arms wide open 😂😂😂
"you were positively jaguarian last night..."-Mr Peepers.
I always loved Michael on Viva Variety and reno 911.
Like this dude 👍
I knew I wasn't goin crazy, Nate Bargatze did a "don't shake your baby" bit kinda like this...
"The essence of the chorus," X-D
Violently weeping
lol that Scott Stapp impression is hilarious
He awesome!!! 😂👏👏👏
He said he doesn’t want to inspire art... was that a very low key joke about the lead singer of Everclear, who sings “Father of Mine”... Art Alexakis
Michael Ian Black is exactly the kind of asshole I am, and I am here for it 😂
Violent, uncontrollable, sustained weeping...
I LOVED him on The State
That was hilarious
Bruce McCulloch looks great for his age.
This was amazing, I knew from the beginning that it was going to be about the band not the movie. Lolol
This is a highly sympathetic crowd.
“Congratulations! You have lost ALLLL the weight!”
I loved that corny song!😂😂😂 🎶can u take me higher, where blind men sees🎶😂
Those are 2 separate songs. Take me Higher and Arms Wide Open. 2 terrible songs from an even worse band
That movie had me so freaked out that if my baby's neck moved in the slightest when I picked her up that I was doing unimaginable damage to my daughter.
my fiancé and i aspire to be that “old, sad, childless couple”-it’s our most cherished dream
Wow that smash cut at 5:06
Lol I was thinking the same thing! I'm no pro but I edit all the time and lowkey cringed at the actual paid "professional's" hard idgaf I'm tired just get it done oh well cut.
Wow such a great crowd!
I should have read the description. I kept thinking, when he finishes talking about this song, then he'll mention the movie! :X
Creed is fucking awesome
I wish I could cry.
I miss STELLA that show was awesome 😆
lol how am I just now finding this guy
OMG look him up he's been around since the 9os check out the kids in the hall 😊
"Don't shake your baby!"
Watching this not too long after watching a Pete Holmes special, and I’m not sure, but those baby-shaking jokes are similar and oddly timed
I thought he meant the movie Creed
Wow ,must be young, I knew is was about the band already.grew up around this era of music.
@@dobi287 I'm 30 too and I've never heard of that movie. I thought of Creed the band 'cause I grew up in that era.
So funny
Soup and the boys gotta see this
No Joke if you enter Creed and click search ,,that song tops the list
The state was the bomb, yo.
Agreed. I wish the licensing issues from all the songs they used could be resolved so the show could be rereleased in it's entirety, but I doubt that will ever happen. I'd love to have it all available. So many talented people in that group!
That creed bit was me to the tee 8 months into wife’s pregnancy in her girly Ford eco sport balling my eyes out 😂😂
"everclear songs written about bad dads"
lol
Well I just heard the news today lmao!!!
i used to love this dude
I know the lyrics to that creed song more from watching this bit than I do from hearing the actual song.
Alter bridge!! Bahahhaha
TI saved the lead singer of that band from killing himself
I have never heard that story. Thank you for letting me know. I’m going to go look it up.
Oh God, I remember reading that part of his book in an article, and he described it as this deep, transcendent, bonding moment between himself and TI...
Then TI was asked about it and his response was like 'Who? Oh yeah we saw a dude and called an ambulance."
It was a little sad.
Ryan Coogler is an Amazing Director. Black Panther changed my life.
GS Michael Ian Black
This guy is funny lol
I love how this channel puts the punchline in the title and thumbnail of every video. Must be a young up and coming network that doesn't have much experience with comedy. Give them some time and I'm sure they'll learn how jokes work.
This was hilarious...Creed is still my shit though👽💜🤘
Creed was awesome and the biggest rock band in the world in the late 90s and early 2000s.
He was so hilarious as randall tyree Manderson from adult swim the show your whole
I miss stella
Stella shorts were great. The show was like a watered down version of the shorts.
@@AndreasDevig that's true....but it was still comedy gold. Very happy to own the entire 1st (and only) season on DVD
@@jamesoblivion I still watch that shit. Every time someone says "mmm...." I always finish with "Duraflame..."😂
Hey I haven’t seen him since I love the 80s
Everyone knows Ian from “I love the” shows, I don’t think I’ve seen him do standup as of late. It seems like he can write…so hopefully he’s still doing it.
Paul F tompkins does a piece on the "i love the" shows. And i dont see him anymore either?
Had to pause this video to go listen to “Come on Eileen” by Dexys Midnight Runners
me. I don't like it. I was sick of it in 1984 and it hasn't got any better. Also, fuck dungarees.
Damn, I'd hate to be his kid 😂
The irony in saying Creed is a bad band but then proceeding to name Mmbop by Hansen as your favorite song is astounding.
Jeez that’s the guy from smosh the movie
Creed kicks ass
He is really funny. I can tell why he is famous. I would go see him.
I googled the song on private browsing
You should watch this guy on Twitter, he is going 'hard' on kids
I thought Tom Delonge was doing UFO's now?
dude is immediately funnier than most these rogan type hacks these days lol. been funny since vh1 i love the 80s series lol
This was funny as fuck.
He was by far the best commentator on those old "I Love The '70s/'80s/'90s" shows on VH1 back in the day
I was literally just binge watching that. It is still hilarious.
I loved him and Chelsea Perreti on World's Dummest. That's were I saw Perreti and how freakin hilarious she is.
Good memory. Agreed. He was/is hilarious
No
I agree
