  • Why would an Educator leave Los Angeles and move to Sierra Leone? I speak to Yeniva Sisay, about why she started working with OneGirl, what she teaches, and what it is like living and working in Sierra Leone as the Rich Aunty or (Rich Auntie).
Yeniva describes herself as an Education Development Leader. She is also a TEDXSpeaker, Head of Madengn, CEO of Let's Paint SL, and the Manager of ‪@melloseven7‬.

Great video. Do more of these to entice some of us who are on the fence about living in Salone. I wonder what & how Yeniva feel about healthcare system in salone?
Cut back on the music for these types of videos.
    Thank you

Great suggestion! Will do. I will ask Yeniva for her thoughts on healthcare. I myself have been seeing a primary care physician in Ghana and I plant to go to my other one in the states. That is the one thing that I still go elsewhere for.

Hello there healthcare is disheartening. I think this is one of the biggest drawback honestly. I’ve been able to assemble a team of my favorites and people I can consult with. And in the end I have access to the US. But it’s a big challenge to be honest

The interview is great for female empowerment yet background music should be either reduced low or cut off for the interview.

Welcome. I have not encountered anyone of Cuban decent in Sierra Leone but there is a small group that resides there. Sierra Leone and Cuba have a long standing relationship since the 1970s. The Ganga-Longoba are a small ethnic group of Afro-Cubans who primarily reside in Perico, ... Upper Banta Chiefdom, Moyamba District in Southern Province, Sierra Leone. The BBC wrote an article about it a while back - www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-25876023
