Her father was "Dutch" Haaland, a military man and she grew up on several bases all over the place. She is a military brat. Even when he left the military and the family settled down, the settled in a big Urban town, not some tribal village or on a rez or similar.
She wears her mothers heritage like a bad costume. Thats why she speaks like something out of a poorly acted old western depiction of an "Injun" rather than as someone who grew up primarily around typical American kids, and why she just wears random "native" looking jewelry. She has no attachment to the history, to the culture, and more importantly to the people. Its just a costume she wears for political benifit, and now she is just a DEI figurehead with no real responsibility as the underlings do all of the actual work.

Which is, what I think, you're attempting to site, just incorrectly. I think you may need to reread the wording of the amendment. How would that apply in any way, shape, or form? I assume you're trying to make an argument for the section that read as such, "nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself" I said nothing about prosecution of the individual in question, simply removal from office for attempting to obfuscate the truth. I'm not in any way suggesting scrapping the 5th, just scrapping crappy politicians who don't feel they need to be held accountable to the American people they are supposed to represent.

It might be difficult for THIS administration to find someone more qualified to serve in her position, given this administration's difficulty accomplishing ANYTHING worthy of the American people, but with another administration, let's say a Trump administration, it should not be difficult at all to find someone who is capable of filling her position. I don't mean to be critical, but someone has to say something: She seems -- from what I have seen and heard from her -- barely capable of performing a volunteer county position, much less a federal Cabinet position like Secretary of the Interior. Because to me, no consequence is inaction, and inaction shows powerlessness...it's makes congress look like a joke.
