You picked shops in my area! S & L (Scotty & Larry) is my go to coin shop with Crestwood Coin being another (Tom really knows his stuff!). You missed Missouri Coin and jewelry in Kirkwood, probably the best price of them all. Great video, really hit close to home!
Yea both times I've been there they were awesome
I'm from St. Louis, Scottsman is an awesome place for buying metals. I think they are the biggest in Missouri. Cheapest prices too.
I was afraid I'd get recognized at Scotsman... I know a few people there lol.
@@SilverSeeker Roger that. Thanks.
St. Louis? Better roll up your windows and lock your doors! Hehe!
LOL St. Louis Area to be very specific... I don't even think there is a coin shop downtown. That said, fair enough :)
@@SilverSeeker I dont know of any in the City Limits
@@danssmokintreasures Midwest Money is in the city.
Cool. A real world buying experience with anonymity and no sales tax.
Thanks Friend!
You should have a car detailing side channel. Your Tesla is pristine.
Lol thanks I baby it. :)
Fun video!! It's neat to see what you find...and spend. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for the great content. I was planning on doing this in the Las Vegas area to figure out which one will be my go too.
I have been stacking for years and have never been to a single coin shop. Is there are only two coin shops in our state and both are basically an overnight trip. I can't even imagine how many coin shops there must be within a 12-hour round trip of where you're at.
All the LCS'es in my Town in Eastern NC are complete crooks. The LCS just feels gross going in like a pawnshop and the owners are predators. Be careful if in NC at least eastern NC if you feel you must go into a coin shop.
Are you in the complete middle of nowhere or something?
I’m trying to guess what state is so unpopulated that it would only have 2 coin shops, and was also so large that it would take a whole day to reach them from your location.
My best guess is that you’re in very rural Wyoming or something, I feel like even montana would have more than 2 coin shops
@@melektaus2906 I live in wasilla Alaska and as far as I can tell online, there is one coin shop in Fairbanks which is 400 plus miles away and one shop in soldotna which is about 300 mi away. There is one or two other places listed but they are not bullion dealers at all.
@@wasillastacker anchorage seems to have a few coin shops from some quick googling
Very cool! Always fun exploring new and different shops.
I'm going to guess that Talisman Coins is a P.O. box in the UPS store.
Good call I did not consider that!
Came here to say this - it’s absolutely a UPS PO Box.
I wonder how many voters use that address? Yes, it happened and is happening
That 10oz coin is awesome. You don't see those everyday. The first shop had great products at excellent prices.
I appreciate your efforts and commentary. Your down to earth style is nice. So many dealers seem to have a stock u their bum. It is probably because there are so many people who think they have a rare coin or once of silver--and do not. Great video!
Thankyou for finding a way to reveal the coinshops you are testing. I hope you can make your way to SoCal some time and do the same. You're kinda like the coinshop Robinhood keeping coinshop owners honest.
Just today I found a 1944 silver dime in my change drawer, work at O'Reilly Auto Parts, found 7 dimes in a different roll few days ago. TY Lord 😊
Are you from missouri? I love you videos.Keep up the good work and I am subscribed to your channel.😊
Great show thanks for doing the leg work
Good Info (as always, SS)! KEEP IT UP & I'm an SS LIFER!
There are 1oz slabbed Morgan $100 Unions for sale on eBay for $150-$220 right now, with recent sold prices between $115 and $157. I am amazed that you got one for $35.
So you're gonna do the ten ouncer as a GAW on Saturday, right? 🤪
Thnx for doing this. Nice to see what the actual storefronts look like
You definitely are a numbers guy. Thanks for another great video 👍🏻
I appreciate that!
Best video format love it❤
Great Scores! Love how you explain in detail. I bought one of those Giant "quarters" the Niagara Falls Piece two weeks ago in Alaska but it was only five ounces, but I wanted it, So I made it mine!
Very cool video. Better than calling shops. Keep it up.
I haven’t found any shops at 1-2$ over spot here that’s low relative to where I’ve been. Nice video you should do this more often.
Great technology..... windows that roll down! That phantom coin shop was a UPS PO Box.
Yea someone else commented about the box... what's with the windows comment tho lol
@@SilverSeekerYou looked quite warm in the car.... you mentioned the windows being down because it was a warm day I believe. Does the car not have air conditioning? LOL
Great Video! Loved some of your finds!!!!
@@imxploring it was in the 70s outside. Warm enough that windows up warms up the interior, cool enough thar I'd rather roll down the windows and get fresh cool air. :)
Obviously it has AC :)
Great video! 🎉🎉
The 10 oz piece is very cool. And and excellent price.
Nice channel! Great info! Keeping it real!!! @3:08 Franklin Mint? looks sketchy. They did a lot of xmas bars in the 70's. Looked up that bar couldn't find it with the obverse design @3:12 like yours.
It tested fine. Frankin Mint put out soooo much stuff back then who knows what is and isn't traceable at this point lol
Nice nab on the antiqued Chiwoo Cheonwang; one of my absolute favorite sets! I have the full Chiwoo + ZI:SIN set thus far, but have never seen one antiqued that wasn't online.
For the uninitiated, the designs are amazing - just be aware some years are an ounce - NOT a troy ounce. Chiwoo's are 1toz but the ZI:SIN are typically a standard oz.
i had no idea there was whole communities of silver "stackers" like you out there...i just figured we all kept our hordes secret....i just inherited my Grandfathers collection and I may need to seek a professional.....
Very Nice Video !!!!!! TY Seeker ~ Keep On Rocking My Friend :)
Thanks, you too!
love all your videos.
Thanks so much!
Nice I just got here this is the first time I've seen a video like this and it sounds fun thanks Seeker
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video 👍 cool pickups
Very nice pickups!
So I’ve had contacted Google/Apple on their maps about stupid shops that don’t have a real address or phone number or the address and number has changed and have gotten them removed. I’ve done this enough times that the process is straightforward and easy and takes days to correct… probably because of my 100% accuracy. Those that I’ve told the shop owners to make those corrections or else I’ve been laughed at until I see that Google no longer list them. So just be a power user, be 100% accurate and collectively you can get rid of these dumb shops that may or may not exist
Sweet 10oz Niagara Falls Canadian! I have one of those in my stack too!
Thanks! That one goes in my deep stack :)
Nice video. Enjoyed the Tesla!
Glad you enjoyed it!
4 LCS, WOW, I only have one LCS in my town, and they are decent, if I want to go to a big city, its' 90 miles away, liked this video today. THE SARGE
Never knew you were local since your videos are calling other states for prices. Nice to see other countries shop options.
When they give you a deal, you know they recognized you :D
Wasn't a special deal though, others have commented that they are normally that well priced. Right now it's just a weak market, low premiums lets go :)
Great video. I wish I had that many choices in shops. With everything going on nowadays, my closest shop is 45mins away. Take care and thank you for sharing. 👍
Yes, same here... except for a couple of very sketchy pawn shops that are not worth visiting. First time was more than plenty!
Nice video I enjoyed watching it
I was at S n L Coins, Midwest Money, and South County Coin last weekend.
Looks like some good buys and have to say nice Tesla Car lol
When you said South County coin and jewelry and how far it was I thought that didn't seem correct. I have had great experiences with South County Coin and Jewelry. I should probably check out a couple others
Thank you thank you Mr Seeker.
Today I sold $900 worth of 90% silver coins at 19.32 / face. I then bought 3, 10 ounce bars for $917.00.
My questions:
1) Should I have just kept the coins?
2) I wanted just bars and not fancy minted rounds. Good or bad decision?
Thanks....
One of the best things about stacking is that we can tailor it to our exact wants and needs. No one else can tell you if that was a wise move or not because
only you know yourself and your situation fully. But the bottom line there is "How did this affect the weight of silver in your stack? If the cost wasn't too bad,
simplifying your stack by going to bars could be of use to you in the future. Agree on keeping bullion generic and not "fancy", although some collector pieces
have done pretty well over the years. The trick there is to know which ones are most likely to do well. That can be hard to know in advance.
I like these videos. I was watching Yankee the other day and he went to a coin store I frequent at least once a month. US Coins and Jewelry. Peace
Great video.
The coin shop with no shop is used as a money laundering?? Lol
Hello Teacher , hope you are doing well well and having a great day 😄
I was thinking the same thing 😂😂😂
Loos like an eBay seller trying to look legit
I've seen coin shops listed online before and nothing but a UPS shop when you show up at the address. Later discovered they only operate out of their home but obviously don't want their home address listed
There’s a coin shop with no shop about a mile from my house. 😮
By the way, last time I was in S & L, they were buying Silver at $.75 back of spot with a little bit better price for regulars
Unfortunately where I live, there are very few coin shops. Tons of pawnshops.
"Everything is going for under $2 an ounce over spot, except for specialty pieces." That line broke my brain a bit... I had to just go and look at the current charts to fix it.
Are those Clouds painted on the Ceiling of your Tesla ?
hhehehhehehe
Glass roof my friend it was a beautiful day outside
@@SilverSeeker yes it was
Too bad you couldn't turn the A/ C on without worrying about running the battery down.
AC battery usage Is incredibly minor lol... I like fresh air and only use AC if it's too hot. It was in the 70s outside but obviously windows up heats up the interior so I just roll the windows down as any sane person would.
@@SilverSeeker Just an anti EV rib at your expense.
@dang4866 all good my friend. Appreciate you watching! :)
Tesla and a Stanley cup. You're soooo California Gucci!
The real question is how do you keep the white seats clean, not why do you drive a tesla 😂
Actually they do a great job keeping themselves clean. Once a month I wipe them down with a bit of soap and water and dry with microfiber cloths. Other than that anything that gets on them.i clean off with baby wipes (I keep a pack in the frunk).
lots of fun!
that chiwoo is a great deal.
they go for more than that even in korea
Nobody wants to buy silver when spot gets this high. Sellers on FB are having trouble selling 90% at spot.
I remember 1980, when silver was almost $50, and customers were still buying. That converts to about $190/oz in 2024. $30/oz isn't near enough to scare people off.
@@jeffw1267 Yes, I remember that too and bought 3 $100 bags of 90% silver coins at around $17.50 per oz., later selling them at $42-$44-$46 in 3 separate sales
for a pretty decent profit. That was my attempt at dollar cost selling so I didn't sell it all at a lower price than was good. I was happy with how that turned out and
was able to fund my intro into the stock market. After a few foolish mistakes, I learned the ropes and did well. Same thing in 2010 when I started stacking silver
and in 2013 when I started stacking gold. My silver stacking goal was completed in late 2019 but I'm still buying gold. Currently stacking dry powder for the
coming (?) price dip in gold. If not, then I will be happy with the amount I have, although more would be good to have.
Speaking of 1979-80, do you remember the lines outside the coin shops that were a block or two long? Man, that was crazy! How about the stores that were
listing their prices in silver coin face value and in fiat currency? A number of them in my town did that and had no problem with doing it. Silver was on a tear
and everyone wanted in on the action. Guess that's why they called it a "mania". Interesting times, indeed.
love the big silver coins i have a kilo brittania that ill probably never sell!
I just bought a one ounce Una and the lion bar. It reminded me of my favorite book series by Jean Auel - Earth's Children (Ayla and Baby). Is there a plastic slab for a 1 ounce bar?
When you buy, do you have the seller test on a sigma machine or anything? I was in a shop once that was clearly selling fake gold (they doubled as a barber shop, weirdly). And sold recently to a shop that didn't check any of the stuff I sold them (~2kilos)... makes me not want to shop at either!!
Minnesota doesnt really have coin/metals shops. Only 3 know of. Lots of pawn shops though. Silver is always $5 over spot. Unless its premium silver. Then its higher.
A comment like that makes me hear a tearing sound in my mind, as those who don't know any better get ripped off. 😕
You found some nice 1s Seeker!
You could’ve had more silver instead of that Stanley Cup lol maybe it was a gift. 😂😅😮😊😊
Yes was a birthday gift from my daughtee
Should have drove to
Minot to see Josh!
$1.80ish over spot is great. I own a coin shop, and I charge $3 over spot. The issue is, that means they're paying under spot when buying.
They most likely are yea, I imagine alot of shops are paying below spot for many silver products, especially generic Silver right now.
I'm local and love s&l best buyer around
Always fun to hit several coin shops in one day!
I’m from Yorktown Virginia. Did they have more of the British Surrender bars?
Just the one that I saw.
I’m still really new to all this but so far the 1oz bars are like trading cards.
Nice pick ups! and lol,, neteng myself, I wouldn't mind a tesla if it were in my price point,, I'm also cheap, LOL.
That was interesting that someone was buying that much gold. I would be interested in what factored into their decision to buy it now.
Well, at a guess, they expect prices to continue to rise. Like most stackers, I prefer to buy the dips rather than the peaks and it is looking a little toppy
right now. Am hoping so, as I have been stacking cash so far this year, my last purchase's being in Sept and Oct of 2023. Nice price dips then. I like
to buy quarterly but will hold cash while awaiting a dip. I'm not one of those "buy it at any price" or "all-in" folks. I have plenty of PMs but prefer a
balanced approach to building wealth over time. This IS a marathon, not a sprint, boys and girls. Been investing for 45 years now and doing pretty
well for the most part. Had a few stinkers early on but losing money tends to wise up a person pretty fast because if it does not they will be poor
for life... and that's just not acceptable.
Have you been to Star Coins in St. Charles? I've bought SEs from them. Very nice owner.
No actually, I'll try to stop in sometime. Don't tell them I said that though lol
A shop open to the public is considered a public area and recording cannot be denied.
That's not quite accurate... these stores are private property, they absolutely can ask you not to record and if you refuse to comply they can absolutely trespass you.
cool beans! :)
How far do you live from Joplin Mo ? They have great shop gold and silver of Joplin. Loved you April 11 show
I like that GPS display
The shop isn’t there during the day it’s outta a trunk at 3 am I think his name is Keith you know that 🙄🤣
Those are the best deals :)
Went to two shops myself couple of days ago, Bought a vintage one ounce bar for 34 bucks and two SLQ quarters. Second shop had generic bars and rounds for 30 bucks. Definitely low premiums at the second shop.
Morgan's are always popular on my streams and in my collection community
Shop without a business front was probably the owner of one of the near by businesses. Bet if you walked into one of the stores there would have seen a side booth. I've seen that here in Kansas 😅
Could be! Someone else suggested maybe their address was a box inside the UPS store which I didn't consider.
There is a comic book store near me that has a coin store inside. It's more of a booth but its kind of cool.
I have the 1 ounce niagra falls. Love it
Curious if you priced junk silver during your outing. Scotsman sells at $1.00 over spot.
Head to the nearest cash machine, LOL.
Seems like those are always out of service in my area.
In St. Louis? I'd need to do it one handed, with the other being on my sidearm lol.
I don't think we have time to wait. The banking system is apparently going to crash SOONER, and feel that any monies in the bank system will possibly disappear. I am trying to buy as much real property like silver in hand before the collapse. I wonder what those controlling the silver market have in store for US.
I have a Tesla great car....I live in Ca. gas is still over 5.00 a gallon here. Charge it at home pay next to nothing Love It.
Good vid for an adventure! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!!
That GPS/ traffic thingy is sick! Must be a Tesla thing
I realize An Ounce is An Ounce but, I the selling time is having payed extra for a “Specialized” ounce really worth it. I know of No catalog or book for Speciality Pricing for anything outside Eagles, Buffalo’s or Regular’s.
It depends... I also collect, I love unique designs that bring out the beauty of Silver. But those are for "stacking" they're just as I said, collectibles. For the bulk of my stack it's always going to be the lowest premium stuff
Hmmmm hades dies that mean your a Fortnite fan…. Nice finds and purchases I knew their are tons of different silver coins and bars but I’ve never heard of most of those lol thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
This was a lot of fun. It's interesting to see how different coin shops hold up.
I don't know for sure about that shop you couldn't find but I have seen little shops inside other shops. I knew an electronics repair shop that was inside a nail salon of all places and a cell phone shop inside a pharmacy. My hunch might be wrong but I have seen that in the past
I can tell you buyers for silver are scarce right now.
Tesla technology is pretty amazing.
I bought a Tesla specifically for commuting. It’s great to charge it at home and I don’t stop at gas stations.
I also have my gas truck that I don’t want to get rid off.
There IS a place in some people's lives for an EV. If it fits your lifestyle, go for it. It would not work for me
due to long drives in areas of NO infrastructure for recharging but it will work for those in the right places.
I am concerned about EVs spontaneously bursting into flames, though, and hope that no one loses their
home, family, or life due to a very intense EV fire. Such things HAVE happened and are documented.
@@edb3877 I was in the market for a new car and with the rebates it made sense. I drive an hour each way. I test drove it and had a few friends who had been driving theirs for a while.
It made sense for me. If I couldn’t charge at home, I probably wouldn’t do it.
Gas cars are way more likely to catch fire my friend... there have been more recalls in the last few years for ICE vehicles because of fire hazard than there have been for EVs. Stop listening to the propaganda
Last year Kia and Hyundai issued a recall for over 3 million vehicles (all ICE) and instructed their owners to park outside until after having the recall repair work done for fire risk. That was the second one for a total of 6.4 million vehicles prompting the U.S. to investigate. In 2017 BMW issued a recall for over 1 million cars for the same thing.
There are other examples as well...
Statistically there are way more ICE fires per 100k cars than EVs. Admittedly mostly caused by electrical issues... because all cars these days have tons of electronics in them, ICE or not. Difference is that ICE vehicles are carry around a tank of flammable fuel.
Hey I am in KS do you have a best coin shop somewhere near KC MO border for converting gold to silver in store? tyvm!
I’m in KC Mo and Americana Collectors is a great shop that I’ve bought and sold from multiple times which happens to be pretty close to KS. It depends on where your are in KS though
Now go and and hit up the shops to try to sell a few ounces. The $2 over spot for buying won't look as good then.
If your intent is to sell it the same day you buy it, it doesn't matter what market we're in, it's not going to go well for you. Shops have to make money, they can't work for free and overhead doesn't cover itself.
Thanks for taking us along!
In 15-20 years or so, Seeker just might do that. PMs are a LONG game best played by those with
strong hands and not an in-n-out game for fun AND profit. The cover charge (premium) makes it so.
You don't know how precious metals work do ya bud?
