    I wish they came with a book service manual like Ktm used to plus the tool kit ! Tool kit was good to bring with you on longer runs!

      You and me both! I love the old tool kits too. I pack a small one when we go just in case

    Man, I enjoy both channels. You know when you go the extra mile you learn your machine wether it is a bike or a lawn mower. When I bought my F 150 twenty years ago I waxed the frame. Now at 250,000 miles I still have the truck. I replaced the front end this summer there was no rust. Good job. Keep doing what you do.

      I wish more people learned the value of taking care of their things. I'm pretty particular. This will probably outlast me LOL

      @@MotoVated207 I don't pay any attention to the haters on CZcams anymore. Most of them can't turn a wrench or weld anyway. Keep doing what you're doing.

    Sweet! I'm picking up the same bike next week. I'll be mostly trail/single track riding, so I'm adding a fan and Boyesen cooler from the get go. Your 2011 looks brand new man, good for you! I'm considering putting a lowering link on the 450. How did you know you were on TDC on the correct stroke?

      Both cams will be loose so you will be able to fit a feeler quage in their. Congratulations man. You are going to absolutely LOVE it!

    We've been to Maine once on a vacation and stayed in a town which for the life of me can't remember what it was but it wasn't far from moose head lake and then to bar harbor. Now as far as owning a motorcycle I have not. Now being 70 i personally wouldn't buy one. I have been on them before and I know a lot of people who own them and love them. I have been on a BSA, Triumph, Honda's and Harleys, Suzuki and maybe a few others. I always wanted one but I don't see that happening. I do enjoy watching your videos on them.

      Thank you so much Jake. That's some beautiful area you were in. Mossehead is a couple hours north of me. My wife and I are hoping to do some riding there sometime

    A little overkill on valve check and kind of a waste of time. I sure hope your greasing all the bearings? Thats is what you should be doing. Definitely a killer bike!

      I didn't write the service procedure and I don't know enough to say a check isn't necessary. I'll pull the suspension out this winter. At this rate it shouldn't have more than 10 hours by then LOL

    What’s your thoughts on the 5 spd ?

    • @MotoVated207
      @MotoVated207  Před 5 měsíci

      I love it! For the riding I do, mostly trails, it's perfect. It just has very usable power all through the rpm range. You can lug it down and it doesn't mind. I haven't really needed 6th although I do reach for it occasionally out of habit.

      much thanks for the quick reply. I’ve been eyeing this bike at a local dealership I stumbled upon. Bike seems pretty unrestricted from factory and this one actually has a dealership installed “street legal” kit. Very inquisitive about this set up as to where 5 gears would be sufficient enough for commutes (26 miles round trip) and yet still capable to rip on some trails.

      With that said, it's definitely not something I would put on the highway without regearing. Around town this thing would be a monster. It really doesn't care what gear it's in, you can lug it down. I built my wife a street legal XR100 and with the gearing she can cruise at 50. I'm not sure of top speed on the 450 but it's got to do at least that. If your commute consists of mostly highway speeds, I would probably either regear or find something more suitable, but around town, it would be awesome

      @@MotoVated207 yes primarily just around town or rural backroads. Nothing on or around freeway speeds.
