The Children of The Cathedral | Fallout Lore

- The structure that would become The Cathedral dates back to Pre-War times. Before The Great War it most likely belonged to Vault Tec who built a vault beneath its foundations. It was a fully functioning demonstration vault, never intended to be used as a fallout shelter. But when the bombs came many people living in the area knew where it was and they managed to get inside and seal the door before the city was destroyed. 15 years later the survivors emerged and went their separate ways, while many vault dwellers stayed behind and continued to use the vault. But in 2155 vault dwellers on a supply run were captured by mutants, taken to Mariposa and dipped in FEV, and the resultant mutants were superior in every way. The Master, the leader of the mutants, discovered that the reason for their higher being was due to their limited radiation exposure and now, seeing how useful they were, He wanted more Vault Dwellers to further his Unity Project.

I know Dog mentions the Church in Dead Money, but I really wanted to see someone in New Vegas that had a robe that their great grandfather had from long ago but never mentioned where exactly it came from.
I always liked Tabitha's acknowledgement of them in New Vegas.
"Acceptance into Utobitha open to mutants only. Former human servants of the Master conditionally accepted for purposes of centaur feeding duties."
Also, the idea that a super mutant society would be free of violence, spite and stupidity is pretty funny. I really don't think the Master ever looked too closely at his test subjects, especially as he somehow missed them being sterile.

Recently played this game for the first time, quickly became one of my favourite games ever.
Great vid man. I remember storming the cathedral, it was intense. The writing and story for Fallout 1 was amazing. Not too many games these days have been able to pull me into their universe like Fallout 1 and 2 did.
I always theorize that the children of the cathedral after the masters death migrated South like the super mutants did and rename themselves the church of the atom

So in the Hearts of Iron 4 mod Old World Blues, the remnants of the Cathedral have had a much harder time than their Master’s Army counterparts.
While the remnants of the Master’s Army has influence all throughout the West and Texas, most of the Cathedral is gone. However, there is still some scattered influence left within Cascadia. Primary within the Bone Dancers tribe, where a acolyte can take power and forge a new Unity.

I have to say that I began to watch your videos when you made videos about weird places in FO 3 did you will make more videos im that format from other fallouts one day?
It was fun and entertaining because it was both like lore and gameplay bit with a good narrator.
Now imagine fallout game where whole branch of this cult survived and they trying recreate Master plan of "Unity" making them as big threat to BoS or NCR. That could be interesting game.

I think it would be the other way around, but they do have a similar religious foundation
@@Synonymous101 fair point. Hopefully Bethesda touches more onto the faction as a whole both the children of atom and more on the original fallout lore in fallout 5. Gives ya more content to make and more stuff to watch while I homebrew my Florida setting for the tabletop rpg

The idea of these people worshipping the nuclear bomb reminds me of the mutants from "Beneath the Planet of The Apes" that had a church built around a nuke. I wonder if that was part of what inspired it?

As those who have followed Tim Cain's CZcams channel know, Morpheus' voice actor, the legend David Warner, was hoping he would get a role where he would be a Good Guy. Obviously, it didn't work out for him, but he still gave a great performance because he was a legend!

It is never said, but food grown in hydroponic farms supplemented by food synthesizers may have provided enough food for a small number of people, sprinkle in some cannibalism and they could have survived

Hey, here's one: according to You've Gotta Shoot 'Em In The Head, Alistair Tenpenny is a ghoul bigot, but in the Tenpenny Tower quest, he doesn't mind them so much.
Explain THAT.
I have a possible explanation, which is that the Shoot 'Em In The Head quest revolves around you killing the people on the kill list given to you by Mr. Crowley because he wants the keys each of them have, so he can unlock all the doors in Fort Constantine bunker to gain access to the T-51b power armor bunker, and it just so happens that Alistair Tenpenny has one of these keys. So Mr. Crowley could be lying about Alistair Tenpenny so you hate Tenpenny and are okay with killing him, as he did with another character he had on his list for us to kill.
By the way the reason I said another character when telling you about the character we know Mr. Crowley lied to us about so we would kill him is because I don't remember the name of the character off the top of my head.

I personally believe the children of the cathedral was ultimately better for the wasteland , it provided aid for the sick and the weak. While the intentions of the master were bad, the services were good.
