  • Recently I've been swapping bracelets and watch bands on some of my G-Shock Squares. Today I installed a Jays and Kays strap using the included G-Shock adapters from Jays and Kays. It was a fairly easy thing to do and the parts only cost about $25 including shipping. In the future, I'll be able to use the adapters to put a one-piece NATO or ZULU strap on this watch too. But, for now, I'm very satisfied with the strap that I installed so I'll leave it just as it is. The watches featured in this video include variations of the GWM5610 and a GW6900. The product I purchased from Jays and Kays is available to fit many other G-Shock watches. You can find Jays and Kays products in a few places, but I found this on eBay.

    For the Casios that have blue, red, or orange accents, a bright NATO in a color to match the accent is a great look.

    Man I wish I was this passionate about something; anyway thanks to your Casio reviews I decided to get a gloss black GW-M5610BB.
    Keep up the good content!

    On squares I prefer the JaysAndKays metal strap adapters, because they make the lug-to-lug distance effectively longer. Resin adapters end up sitting on top of my wrist, rather than wrapping around my wrist. I prefer resin adapters on 6900 models, because they make the lug-to-lug distance effectively shorter and give me an excellent fit. Recently JaysAndKays had some 16/22mm metal adapters that fit squares for only $15 per pair. Unfortunately they are not available currently (probably sold out temporarily). In the past I bought the earlier 16/20mm metal adapters for $30.

      Does it look better with 22mm strap than 20mm on squares?

      @@majkon93 I think a square looks fine with either a 20mm or 22mm strap. I prefer a 22mm strap as far as the feel on the wrist goes, but I have a square with the 16/20mm J&K adapters, because that's all they had at the time, and it wears fine and looks good.

    I’ve been using that exact kit on my 5600e for the past week, definitely one of my favorites in my collection. I haven’t had a chance to test out the metal band version yet I ordered a metal link removal tool on eBay for help, I injured my hand recently and pushing out the links is hard for me.

    I've used Jays & Kays for my bullbars for my Gs. Might have to get some adapters to swap out the strap.

    Jajajaja nice intro, great video Greg, what watch do you use as your real beater? For example fixing the breaks...

    That negative display is terrible (compared to the positive ones). But I love the look of the Jays and Kays strap on the watch.

    • @GoodTimekeeper
      @GoodTimekeeper  Před 3 lety +1

      I prefer the normal LCD over the negative LCD but the way I held the watch in this video does make the negative LCD look worse than it does in person. I suppose the negative LCD is like one of those computer monitors that only allow you to see what’s on screen if you are at the most correct viewing angle. Maybe I should call the negative LCD a “privacy” display.

    Greg, J&K make a great product. But you did yourself a disservice. You should have got the 16mm-20/22mm metal strap adapters. They are so much more comfortable.

      Agree, metal 22s are the way to go. Have both. Look better, feel and wear better. Transforms the 6900 and 5600.

    It's a good idea but those adapters are too big for that little g.

    Mr.Anderson.... did I hear a cat say "meow" in this video? Have you ever shown us your cat, or cats? I think we all would like to see what Casio watch your cats wear.

    • @GoodTimekeeper
      @GoodTimekeeper  Před 3 lety +1

      No, that was the kids (humans... not goats) making noise after they came in from playing in the snow. I should show the watches that the kids wear, I suppose.

    That strap looks very cool although it seems a bit thin on camera. Isn't it too sharp on the borders that press on your wrist?

    • @GoodTimekeeper
      @GoodTimekeeper  Před 3 lety +1

      It is thin but the edges feel very well rounded so they aren’t sharp. I wonder if it will change after I break it in for a while. We’ll see.
