Before I go flaunting my degree knowledge I want to say I agree with the utility of this as a metaphor for conquest of one's own psyche. I personally used demonic possession as the most accurate metaphor I could when I was ceasing a former health-threatening addiction of mine. The 'daemon' was the shadowy set of desires nested within me which treacherously sought to restructure my life so as to maximise my engagement with the addictive object. This is a wonderful alchemical video and I almost wish I had made it!
BUT
As a linguistic scholar specified in Greek and Latin, I have to amend your etymology of 'Daimon'. it does not mean 'to divide or distribute destinies,' it isnt even a verb so how could it mean that? It does come from a verb, however. The original verb is 'Daiein' ('die-OH') which means either 'to divide' or 'to burn'. Greek uses a kind of algorithm called 'grammatical voice' which basically distinguishes an action done to someone else (active voice), an action done by someone else to you (passive voice), and an action done by oneself to oneself (middle voice).* Now it's about to look more familiar; 'Daiomai' is the middle voice form. 'Daiomai' means 'I am separate'. 'Daimon' is just 'daiomai' + '-on' which is a neuter-gendered ending which generates a noun from a verb. In other words 'Daimon' (or the Latin spelling Daemon) means a thing which is separate. The final piece of the puzzle however comes in the usage of this word. Words' meanings can rarely be fully understood by simply looking at etymological lines of familial descendance. These 'separate entities' or Daemons were thought of as spirits of various kinds. First they were the souls of the dead, continuing an existence 'separately', perhaps this cultural belief was providing comfort to those who had experienced loss. Later on, a 'daimon' was considered to be any kind of entity from the spirit world, good or evil. Sometimes 'daimons' were the vengeful departed and sometimes they were guardian angels. The key is that they were paranormal entities separate from the human world but not quite of the status of gods 'Theioi.' They were separate from humanity but not so far beyond as to exist within the abstractions of weather cycles, the presumed artificers of destiny or the ceaseless autonomous mechanisms of of nature wherein the Gods resided.
*english examples:
active voice - 'She is looking at him'
passive voice - 'She is being looked at'
middle voice - 'She is looking at herself'
In english we use word order to show this but in Greek all that changes is the form of the verb, in this case 'to look'

Hello that is also a concept in many mystery schools. My question here in this video it is described as some kind of evil shadow and not a figure where one could talk with. Jung said that Philemon is something separate of him. But he is describing something completely different.

I recommend it, the book is wonderful and at the same time terrifying. When reading it you will feel a touch of madness when trying to process the information, it will even change your dreams.

The videos are getting better and better! The intro gives the viewer time to get immersed in the setting and get vital context for it.
I find it interesting that the vast world of the unconscious seems to want to keep being a mystery. I once dreamt of being in a film crew making a documentary about the wildlife. We filmed a herd of deer, but the deer seemed to run away from us, we insisted on filming it and kept going. After a while one stag turned around and stomped towards me, I ran as fast as I could. I knew i had to run in a zigzag line because it was faster than me. Once I ran around a tree the stag was just behind me but suddenly exploded because it triggered a landmine that was placed there. I felt terrible because I just wanted to film it, and now it is dead. But then in this forest a house appeared with a whole family living in it, almost like a part of my wildness got brought into a civilized state.
So I guess it isn't a clear thing to just leave the unconscious alone because a fruitful relationship can be established with it, but it is important how we act towards those mysterious forces. Science seems to analyze, to dissect, to isolate. If done to a living force and taken to its extreme that can be dehumanizing, severing all the connections of a life force robs it of its vitality. It puts the force in a prison without giving it a chance to stream in its course or in any course for that matter. So exploring while also keeping the enigma alive seems to be the key, so its force can still stream through our whole being while also being in relation to our ego-consciousness. But that means we will never fully understand it due to the ominous paths in which it treads, its hidden connections to the depths, the streams in and from the abyss.

@@Expanding_Consciousness Well it was in times of great change in my life, not so long before the dream I moved due to college und had to ajust to the new living situation. It was also not too long after I "discovered" my shadow and anima, that was very violent at first. Like opening a door so a ferocious and dangerous beast is set loose (shadow). Or opening a Box in a spaceship out of which a woman made out of vines, thorns and roses comes forth. She also attacks me in a fit of rage (anima). So the dream of the deer could be some sort of aftermath.
Why I dreamt specifically of a deer I don't know.

I Was discussing Carl Jong and Richard Dawkins and their conceptualizations of these things. I feel that these are real that there is genuine extra dimensional entities Twilight Zone kind of stuff beings are pure thoughts that have influence Upon our conscious lives and ways that we cannot appreciate.
Men such as Edward Bernays have influenced us on behalf or to make these things. These Egregore.
There are energies modern science does not understand today, when scratching the surface on synchronicity you start to realize that quickly.
