In this video, we are unboxing the brand new GoPro Hero 10 Black that was launched today. We do a quick walkthrough of the new features and specs and we run through the setup process of getting it connected to the GoPro Quik app so we can update the firmware. The new Hero 10 Black features a new GP2 chip, Hypersmooth 4.0, Higher frame rates, and resolution among several other enhancements and upgrades ... and yes the touch screen now seems to work as it should!

Great unboxing Shawn. The new Hero 10 seems like a solid upgrade over the Hero 9. I really like that they added the GP2 processor, the Hero 9 had a slow touch screen, especially when it first launched. I’m looking forward to seeing more of the Hero 10 on your channel.

There are a lot of things to cover but I would like to hear your evaluation about the dynamic range improvement now using the "Local Tune Mapping " in videos. Is that possible with this so tiny sensor?
And battery life? Obviously recording at 120/240 fps will drain the juice faster. But a 10 min video (4k 60 fps, in GoPro 10) does compare with the same consumption of the GoPro 9?

Just purchased this today and it's my first GoPro. I was actually going to get the 9 as it seems to be plenty good enough but a local best buy had this on sale for the same price! Looking forward to digging into it and this video im sure will be super helpful 😊

Just on the max lens mod, I saw on another channel that it isn't yet compatible with the Hero 10, not until a planned firmware update in the next few months.

black screen on the phone app while recording is a bit disappointing. sometimes I use phone as monitor when gopro is on my head, so I dont know what am i recording. :(

Really glad to hear, I’m thinking of getting a gopro and I’m glad the 8 isn’t super buggy with recent firmware like the 9 is, I may get that since it is a lot cheaper then the 10
I'm satisfied with my Hero 8 Black and the non-removable lens. But If GoPro made another Hero Session, i would buy it in a heartbeat. Still got and use my Hero Session 4.
I have hero 7 working great (you can see videos on my channel) but now I will buy this 10 black. only thnig that sucks is mic adapter - why? oh why?
I recently got the HERo 9, tbh the difference is not much imo, the hypersmooth already is insanely smooth so yeah, and the frames, wel 1080p60 for yt is perfect

Just purchased my 1st GoPro. Hero 10 Black. This was a very informative video and you can bet I'll be watching the rest of your videos on this device. (BTW, been using the Akaso V50 for 2 years. While very capable, there is no comparison to GoPro quality)
Good intro video, but since my new GoPro 10 came with no instructions, it would really be helpful to show how to insert the memory card. There are a couple of different ways to insert it.

I just got the Hero 10. I had a GoPro 6-7 years ago. It wasn’t new and had a cracked screen. I didn’t really use it. So I would consider myself new to GoPro. I’ll be checking out your other videos.
Can we use the camera while charging ? That way in case the battery dies then while riding we can continue recording while charging using a power bank or bike charging port.
I need to know when you can if it freezes or you lose data I’ve heard it was a problem for many on GoPro hero 9

Max lens mod apparently won't be compatible until the Nov firmware update. Something about a ground up rewrite of the code.

So a replacement lens protector for Hero10 could fit on your Hero9 taking advantage of the water repel-ant and less lens flare….nice

Max Lens Mod is not supported. GoPro said it will with a firmware update in Nov or Dec.
Have you ever tried Rain-X on a replaceable Gopro lens? I wonder if it would work as well as it does on a car windshield.
Yes I have tried it it works not too bad but needs to be reapplied often
