When a person starts playing the lottery, they should be planning from the beginning. In my opinion, the reason some of the winners end up bankrupt is because the win came unexpectedly, they made first decisions on the fly. Whereas someone who has been expecting to win probably has put some thought into who to call and what to do

Everyone thinks they're smart enough with money, yet too many are broke in five years. You need a tax pro, a financial advisor (though I would not recommend NW Mutual. Don't do your investing through an insurance company.) You will need a lawyer, especially if you're in a state that does not allow you to claim anonymously to see if there's a workaround. You will need more liability insurance, too. Vet these people carefully. Ultimately YOU make the decisions. They are there to advise and implement your strategies.
