@@MrHulthen I was eager to install the EGM for the LE, sadly its not complete by now, cos its a massive improvement over the vainilla experience, but many of its features are not present in the actual versiĂłn, from just chsnging the silly ME3 music on Shep's cabin to been able to do some extra N7 missions alongside your old ME2 crew in mod made placesđ„ș
It shows just how great the original trilogy was. Even after all those years I still condier them to be one of the best games in history. I really hope they will redeem the series with MEV after the clusterfuck that Andromeda turned out to be.
I just wish they could do a mod to fix the journal in ME3. The first time I played through it I needed to look up a walkthrough for several missions because the ME3 journal never told me what to do to complete an objective just telling you what the main objective is.

Hello, you did an amazing job Tydeous ! I just wanted to ask did you found the Batarian female models in the game files or just put a Batarian head on human body ? Because i don't remember seeing female Batarians in game at all
@@MrHulthen Quarians and Geth are a tough one. Initially I was very keen to show them in the aftermath of Rannoch (one, the other or both, depending upon the choice made), but when we were working out what NPCs to show, it really didn't seem right to do so. The Presidium has never been a particularly welcome place, and the one quarian we've ever seen there is a member of your crew.
After some discussions about it, we eventually settled on the idea of having a small number of Quarians in the Presidium areas, and these would represent crew of quarian ships that have come to the Citadel after helping the war effort, and that these will appear post-Rannoch. The geth won't appear on the Presidium, but both races will be found in Silversun Strip. We felt it made sense for them to be seen there because the Wards are multicultural, so we'll have a more even split of races down there. Even so, they'll still be a minority and only appear under specific conditions. :)
@@podlodialgilap3490 The batarian female headmesh comes from a modeller known as PickleJuice (from what I hear their work is a bit NSFW, so fair warning if you go looking). One of our team found the mesh, got permission and Mellin made some alterations so it'd work ingame. The mesh uses the same textures as the batarian males, but it is placed on the human female body.
My hope is that in time we'll get the textures adjusted on the human female body to feel more similar to batarian facial textures, but that's a long way off.
Great job - you're still working on it so we'll wait for the asari heads. Female batarians are an excellent addition.
Seeing more female NPCs for some of the races is especially welcome. It's absurd how we only see ONE female turian (Nyreen) and ONE female krogan (Eve) in the entire trilogy.
Seriously, the lack of female Turians was such a weird thing to leave out across *all 3 base games.* Would it really have killed them to put in female Turians starting in ME 2? If they still absolutely *had* to cut content, make some of the levels smaller. The Turians don't even have a lazy excuse for the women not being around, unlike the Salarians and Krogan. The idea that all the billions upon billions of female Salarians and Krogan would all always stay on their homeworlds cranking out and raising all the babies is already insulting enough. Hell, make the Salarian Councilor female to show instead of just tell us that female Salarians are political leaders.
Let alone the Volus, Vorcha, Batarian, Elcor...where are all their women? It would've been better to go the "males and females look the same to humans" and used voice tones with at least ONE of those instead.
Wish I had a pc gaming rig and time to play through the trilogy with mods. Instead I'm stuck with PS3.

Male aliens' looks don't hinder them from getting to exist and run around all over the place, but the alien women are either humanoid hotties (Asari, Quarian), or so rare and special that *entire plots* revolve around them. Why? There's 10 non-monogender alien species in the trilogy, but we can count on 1 hand all the alien women we see who aren't either Asari or Quarian. Also, is it really believable that of the millions to bilions of Krogan women, none of the infertile femaes ever go "screw this, let's get off this rock, go see the galaxy, and shoot shit up for fun and profit"? They'd all stay cloistered away?
If Bioware had gone the "female Turians *look* the same as the males to humans," or better yet started incuding them as soon as they had more than one disc to put the game on...
Mass Effect is a great and rightly beloved series, but a mixed bag for more reasons than just ME3's endings. It shouldn't be left up to modders a decade later to fix something as simple as not-so-hot women getting to exist without being special rare unicorns. At least Andromeda gave me hope for ME4 to finally fix this themselves.

Wow, that's a lot of love and attention to little details that fans appreciate seeing. ME3 is an amazing game. I feel like there was too much pushback on the idea that it was great until the ending. That's exactly how I feel, honestly. Playing the full series now and I'm halfway through 3. That feeling of the galaxy at war is captured so amazingly well.
Mods are known for giving Bethesda games much extended life and relevance. Is great to see fans serving up some quality and lore-friendly mods for Mass Effect.
Oh yeah - the Bethesda modding community has really shown how important the modding community is. I imagine the Mass Effect modding community will grow even more & the lifespan of the Legendary Edition will be extended even more
Lore-wise, the Turians normally kept their biotic sequestered in Cabals. This was regardless of thr career paths they chose in life. As soon as they displayed biotic potential, they were plucked up by the Turian military as they prioritized the tactical advantage of bringing biotics to the battlefield. I totally dig this mod diversifying the battlefield.

The biggest things that broke my emersion had fuck all to do with diversity. It was the armour choices for companions from ME2, Miranda thereâs no way you can survive in space wearing a covid mask, it was âCommanderâ Shepard when youâre actually a civilian, it was the inability to tell the Illusive man, you bastards got my entire unit killed on Akuze, like hell am I working with you.
Not to mention how the Virmire Survivor got pushed to the backdrop when they could have shown up again after the destruction/cleansing of the Collectors Base and have a significant role in Arrival.

I wonder if there are visible Turian SR1's? Remember that it was a joint project between Turians and Humans, and Humans received the first ship. In the final battle, I seem to remember seeing an SR1 come through the relay. But I think it was seen when the Alliance fleet comes through.
I know that the Take Earth Back mod adds a second Human SR1 that does a fly by during one of the final missions

Bad ideas Krogan/Harbinger romance
My favorite New Vegas overhaul mod is Living Wasteland which adds npcs and events that reflect player actions and states of the Mojave. This seems to do the same thing for ME3 and it looks so good!
Not only are volus merchants, those who seek citizenship within the Turian Hierarchy (as a sort of vassal species, they are eligible, but still have to perform some type of military service) itwould also make sense for the volus is a military support staff person.
Iâve already got LE on console, but I may consider getting it on PC for mods

Thatâs honestly the one aspect that I loved about Andromeda. Was the female Turian that you get to play with. And she was super strong as a sentinel tank.
Iâm hoping that the next ME will allow more complexity with the party builds. Perhaps every character being able to go full Dps role or full tank role or full support role. And hopefully more female main characters joining the party

Recently I actually started to mod my LE and I was astounded to see the sheer number of mods I actually downloaded. I'm really excited to start!

Could be my own head cannon but in ME2 when you first arrive on Omega and talk to the druggie Salarian he refers to the Batarian that tells him to bugger off as "what ever she wants." I like this more because not every female of a species has to have human female characteristics. I do agree need more female Turians because of a species wide dedication to service.

Wish theyâd implement some of these mods on consoles cause people like me who canât afford a decent gaming pc will never experience these moments otherwise.
To be honest, up until they actually showed us what a female Turian looked like, I always just assumed there was a lack of sexual dimorphism in a lot of Mass Effect's alien species. I never assumed I'd be able to tell the difference between male and female Elcor, for example. And turians, being as reptilian as they are, seemed like they'd have the same thing going on. The krogans were dealing with a species-wide fertility plague so it made sense not to see any female krogan around, but the turians, salarians, and batarians always just seemed like we might just not be able to tell the difference.
Having said that, BioWare always *did* have a bit of a tight budget to work with, so I don't exactly begrudge them for cutting corners where they could. Ah, well.
Speaking of seeing your war assets, I recently logged into my N7HQ for the multiplayer account, and the background was a screenshot of a hangar and outside the hangar there are these alliance frigates. It all looked like it was from in game rather than concept art, like they planned on this being part of the main game at some point. I thought how cool it would have been to actually see your assets build up as a fleet rather than some list. And here we are.
The lack of female aliens has always been comically conspicuous especially in the first game. I mean, I'm all for representation and people being who they will, but just from a logical standpoint, it didn't make a lot of sense. I guess the Asari were supposed to balance things out? Batarians kind of make sense being under a repressive controlling government, but after the Reaper invasion we should definitely be seeing the rest of the family. This mod is actually pretty cool though.
Very true! Yeah, the lack of female aliens, if i remember correctly, was moreover a question of time & resources. We definitely should have seen more of them in Mass Effect 3 tho, but as we all know, EA pushed the "rush out the gates" button & so we're here đ

Yeah, this is something we really wanted to tackle early in LE3 Diversification Project, as well as balancing the NPC populations to feel more true to the lore. Getting those two fixed would really improve immersion and serve as an excellent foundation to further improve the game in other ways
It's very similar to Project Variety, except that PV adds correct gun models in cutscenes instead of the default Lancer
What Bioware should do. Cause they're not putting multiplayer back, do a big update for console and PC and put on all those unique powers and skills and classes on the main story.

You're right that Bioware does great writing non-squadmate women, which is part of why the absence of even background NPC's is so glaring. There's hundreds of millions to hundreds of *billions* of females who are NOT Asari, Human, or Quarian...and they really *all* just so happen to decide to stay home to make and raise babies all at the same time across all 3 games? Including all the Volus, Elcor, Batarians, Vorcha...?
Seeing some of these mods, like the Ashley mod makes me so incredibly mad that I have the trilogy for PlayStation and donât have a PCđđđ

The diversity and quality of mods that continue to be created despite the gameâs code not being very mod-friendly, much less no official modding tools existing, just shows how much the devs could have done (and probably still can), if they were given enough time and if the management has been more competent. However, instead of the completely phenomenal masterpiece it could have been, or just an excellent game it now is with all the DLCs and especially with some mods, people in 2012 got pretty much an incomplete beta with huge pieces of content made into DLCs, the ending that looked like it was directed on a home PC of one of the devs a week before release and another huge amount of planned content and possibilities just unused and thrown away, so the Moders are till now adding what totally could and should have been in the vanilla game to beging with. In addition it costed BioWare their reputation, cut the funding, indirectly caused many of Andromedaâs issues and send the franchise south for the next 7 years, till the legendary edition announcement. This mods are really good and I praise the once who made them, but they all give such a bittersweet feeling.

These are changes I didn't even know I'd want... but also further proof it's a Medioce Edition collection, imo. They really didn't do much for improvements, and it doesn't even have all the DLC. It's far too lazy to deserve being called Legendary. Yes, I realize they lost a lot of the code and would've had to remake a DLC from the ground up... but hey, you want to call it LEGENDARY? Do that.
Well, you're not wrong. There's a bunch of things they could've added by taking their time. But hey - Modders like Tydeous make it happen instead :D
It's only missing a single DLC and that's Pinnacle Station. Hardly much of a loss at all there as back then when it came out and to this day it's not looked at well almost without exception. I personally still prefer the trilogy I bought previous to the LE and heavily modded at that but the critical reception and sales figures for the LE definitely speak for themselves. To each their own of course :)

Salarians - Main diplomat you deal with, female
Krogan - The most important person to the Krogan people currently, female
Asari - Well they are all basically female
The only other main race you can consider do not represent female well s is the Turians, but in the Omega DLC(which all Legendary players have) one of the main people you work with, is female. And the other is an Asari. Plus Garrus and other Turians are always talking about their women.
You don't see female Drell, but you only ever see 3 Drell in the game.(Two if you don't play DLC)
So I don't mean to sound edgy, but it seems like "Female representation" is pretty damn good in the game lol

You had me at female Turians, and then there's female Batarians too?! The way that 99.999% of females who arent Asari, Quarians, or Humans all decided at the same time to stay home and never go out across all 3 games always bothered me. What, even the Turian women are too busy raising babies?
I love seeing all the refugee variety too, and the visual war assets! Man, my laptop isn't meant for gaming so I've been stuck on PS3, and then mods like this come out and enhance the game so very much...!
We also added female drell too! The drell are just quite rare, so you don't see too many of them :)

So, thank you thank you thank you for fixing that! I wish so badly I could use this mod on the PS3, my roommate and I are replaying the trilogy on that. I considered getting legendary, but neither of our laptops are gaming rigs and we can't justify getting a desktop.

It would of been cool to see the leviathan show up in battle to take out some reapers
two things i wish for (mainly for ME2 and ME3) are Animation mods and Immersion mods
things that add in like hugging your romance partner imagin HUGGING and KISSING Garrus when ever you WANT? or call him up to your cabin to cuddle!! and mods that add in that whatever you see the NPC do you can do it too like sit SLEEP IN YOUR DAMN BED (when not on missions) use the shower i got this idea when the Citadel DLC came out and it gives you an Apt. i wanted to interact with it so bad but you couldnt it was scripted for the story but i wanted to SIT on the couches use the bed COOK in the kitchen on your down time you could visit and call your partner up and just chill (not story wise scripted) but in free roam stuff
and for immersion mods make it so you can actually interact with things MORE that just standing being stiff invite partners and friends out on dates things like that
if i had to say if Mass Effect was lacking anything it was give more things for Shepard to do make it more lived in i guess

Pretty cool mod. Iâve always understood mods & the why behind them. Especially ones like this. But, I donât care for them myself. Play the game as intended imo⊠but hopefully the right ppl see things like this & it helps improve upon future titles

It would be cool as shit if the game creaters saw this mod and decided to have it officially added to the game so even us console gamers could enjoy it. Maybe like pay the hell out of the creator and add it as a in game update. But unfortunately I doubt that would ever happen.

Some of it there is lore issues at play. Taurian biotic weren't common and very rare. The few that were became assassins and thus earned distrust with the military so having them show up next to their forces is unlikely to impossible. Even lore wise at one point stated that humans were the most diverse of all the species in terms of looks. Some species like salarians females aren't that common because of their mating cycle and we did get a female councilor if we let other one die. Even the books stated that baterians had different mating style compared to humans so having look more human doesn't make since. Only way to address this is to create whole new models not just add the multiplayer visual options on. Adding that ship was the only part of the mode i thought worked.
LE3DP lead dev here, I wanted to address a few of your points and let you know why we made certain choices when making the mod, as I feel there is some misunderstanding here. :)
TURIANS:
You're entirely correct that the turian biotics weren't common, were organised into their own units known as cabals, and that they're distrusted by the military. However, if you check the codex in Omega DLC labelled "Turian Cabals," it makes it very clear that they are now serving on the frontlines of the war to support the resistance:

This codex entry represents the entire reason I decided to place a tiny group of turian biotics on the front line. The background lore allowed me to do this, in part because of how desperate the situation is in the war. Fortunately we have a mesh maker who has edited the turian male armours to the profile of a female turian shown by Nyreen, so they look correct.
SALARIANS:
You're correct about their females. From the background lore, we know that roughly 10% of salarians born are female In this mod we haven't accounted for whether a salarian is male or female, we just consider that one in ten of the salarian NPCs are female, but we made sure not to highlight this visually. We know from Mass Effect 3 that the female salarians have no visual differences to the males (at least in terms of body shape & faces), and we've made sure to stick to that lore.
However, salarians are a very diverse species in terms of their looks, you see this Mass Effect 1 & 2 where they have a very broad range of appearances and skin tones. The problem is Mass Effect 3 was made on a tight timescale, and so almost all salarians in the game were given much the same appearance. Our work is correcting that, giving them some more varied faces and skintones. For example, on Sur'kesh, many of the soldiers are using headmorphs of the survivors of the Virmire mission.
BATARIANS & DRELL:
As you might imagine, we did a massive amount of research of the lore to make sure what we're doing is right, or at least, correct to what we know about each species currently. With the batarian females, we had read books with them in (Revelation & Annihilation) to try and get a better idea of what they're like, but they didn't particularly go into too much detail about it. So we looked at the batarians ingame, and those use the human male body, so we followed suit when we applied the brand new mesh for the batarian female heads.
With the drell, we not only added a new head mesh for the female drell, but we also edited human outfits to account for the slimmer profile of the drell, so we could have them as refugees. Additionally, as the background lore states their young can immediately eat solid foods and that the drell are reptilian, we've made a mesh that removes the breasts on the female human meshes that they're using. When we've needed to, we've made new meshes.
With both of these, if Bioware turned around in ME5 and introduced us to female batarians or drell that look very different to what we have, then I'm committed to adjusting our mod to match. For now though, they do their job.
I know this is an older video but by chance do you know if the diversification mod works with the expanded galaxy mod?
I've done a playthrough where I used both mods at the same time so I can confirm they both work together.
Hell, I'd consider EGM and Diversification Project as part of my "Bare Minimum" of ME3 mods everyone should use.

Your need for "female representation" does make sense with Turians, but NOT with Salarians. Only 10% or less of Salarians are female.
Only needs Multiplayer now.
Be cool of some of these mods we're made to the console version of Legendary edition....as far as I know anyways.

I don't know why, but I imagined batarian females with 4 breasts, just like they have 4 eyes. Or just a series of nipples like dogs and cats have. At least that way we could end that unnecessary resemblance to humans of almost every alien species.

Ngl this mod wouldnt let me progress very early on in the game. Hope it gets more updates
There has only been one bug report saying that people couldn't access the Council scene and we patched that within 3 days of the first release. If there is a separate issue, then we cannot fix it if we've never experienced it or received a bug report for it
