Re: Eli Lilly and those Tirzepatide results… it constantly amazes me that ppl are seemingly shocked (SHOCKED, I say!) that medications *stop working* once you stop taking them. 😯
This is now nearly all drugs work. Would you expect your hypertension meds to keep working if you stopped taking them? Your statins? Your aspirin? 🤷🏻
If you want a PERMANENT CURE to a chronic condition or disease, you’re usually talking gene therapy (or maybe antibiotics and antivirals vs certain illnesses)… and this is obviously not that.
So, why ppl keep tripping over this - “ZOMG! You mean the weight likely starts to come BACK if I stop taking it?!” 😱 - is beyond me.
Maybe the average person just does not understand how medications work. Or they’re victims of bogus/hyperbolic claims from the supplements or diet industry, that sometimes promise permanent ‘cures’. Who knows. 🤦
