One thing you left out.
Tucked away on a side street, is a shrine to St. Michael the Archangel. The artwork and iconography alone would be worth the small diversion.
But you don't have to be particularly sensitive to feel Michael's presence there. I've taken a few visiting friends and family members there: some were skeptics, some were curious, but every single one of them said they'd experienced something there...even if they wouldn't elaborate, and I know better than to pry.
If you go there, though, be respectful: keep your voice down, and quiet your tech.

Number one thing NOT to do in tarpon springs is exercise your constitutional rights of free speech in front of city hall which is a traditional place to voice your opinion. In this city the police trespass you from public property under threat of arrest. Do they treat the tourists like this also?
