John, I started using the 4 inch bubblegum swirl about a month ago after watching you catch a lot of fish is several different kinds of water. I have to admit I was hesitant at first because I just couldn’t imagine any self respecting fish would eat something so weird looking. But, they do and now regardless where I’m fishing I take the yum fingers along. Thanks for sharing!

My p.b largemouth, came on the bubblegum 4 inch Yum Dinger.I Texas rig it with no weight.I fish my brother's 10 acre lake and I too have learned that fishing it slowly is the key. Also, you have to be a line watcher, something my brother is now learning.I told him one time to set the hook because he had a fish hit the Dinger.I saw only a slight twitch in his line, which he didn't see.He couldn't believe I could tell he had a bite when he felt no hit.Line watching is mandatory when fishing a Dinger, because I've rarely ever had a bass just slam it.

I've bought that lemon bubblegum swirl too - just from watching your videos this past year, John!
I'm lucky enough to live right here where Yum Dingers are made... I'm a big fan but mostly Green Pumpkin and Junebug bags are what I've bought in the past... now I got to say I'm thinking about your videos every time I tie on that special color!

Hey John, with you in that I used to have a bad problem with missing hookups on bites on the wacky rig. On advice from several pros and CZcamsrs (like Debo) I started fishing the VMC Neko hook (or other brands similar shaped) rather than a specific wacky rig hook, and run the hook through two o-rings crossed over (Debo's done some good videos on this). This improved my hookup percentage on bites DRASTICALLY...probably the biggest impact from any single tackle change I have made. A wacky rigged 4" Yum Dinger (Bream color) is now my absolute go-to when I can't get a bite on anything else, and it has saved many a day of fishing.

I caught a bass the first time I rigged one up ! Several months ago, nobody could find this color(mostly looking at Wally stores), but I finally found some at an online store. Bought a couple of packages, then my daughter who lives in North Georgia sent me a couple of packs ! I am enjoying the new channel content so keep it coming, please. Randy B.

Actually today I was fishing a 5' yum dinger green pumpkin and chartreuse I got a backlash so the whole time I'm pulling line the dinger just sitting on the bottom and I ended up hooking one and reeling him in over a pretty good backlash! Lol so I started fishing it real slow and ended up catching them the rest of the day letting it fall and sit and very slowly drag it back

I'm glad you did this video on the yum dinger & that color, I wanted to make sure of the color & how you use it, I will just tell that it's a hot color because every store locally is sold out, I subscribed to your channel this past week, really have enjoyed your adventures, I used to fish nothing but creeks & streams, got away from it fishing in lakes, but thinking about getting a kayak, I'm not a very good swimmer though, so I don't know, also I like you putting scripture at the end of all your videos, it's a great witness keep it up☝

I fish a pond along a main highway in South Tulsa; in this maybe 7 acre pond. It's a private pond but since the pond goes into county land there's a small spot I fish from (without trespassing) - anyway I use the 6-inch pink Yum Dingers and I don't need anything else. The bass love it. It is my go to lure. The bubblegum Yum Dinger is good, but not as good as the pink!

After watching your videos on the yum Dinger I have decided to give it another shot. I bought 3 packs to try it again. I always compare the to a 4 inch senko. In my past trying of yum Dinger they just didn't catch anywhere near as many fish as the senko does. But you killed them at chickamauga on it and senko's are twice the money. So because of you I'm going to give yum Dinger another try. I also do best Texas rigging weedless over wacky by far.

I fish my 5” dingers almost exclusively on a screw lock, weighted shank hook when Texas rigging. I feel it accentuates the glide of the worm after the twitch and also gives a little weight to feel the inevitable bite. Try ‘em out if you’re not using them!

YUM soft plastics are often underrated. That peach/bubblegum color is different and very productive. I’ve often taken the 4” YUM Dinger and cut it in half rigged it Ned Rig style on a football head jig. Go as small as you can on the jig size. The PB&J is another good Dinger color. Thanks for the video.

Good information. I prefer Yum Dingers to other stickbaits because they seem a little more buoyant and durable. I also like the hook slot for Texas rigged hook points. Hope you had a fun time fishing in Indiana, can't wait to see that video whenever it comes. That's my home state, though I've only ever fished south-central. Come check out Lake Monroe some day if that's not where you went. Some great feeder creeks that are really only accessible on foot or by kayak. Or you could always just post up in front of John Cougar Mellencamp's house there and get some nice click bait haha.
But what I really meant to say is this was a fantastic video and I see you've already got some others in a similar vein posted. Your videos have been really helpful for learning more about fishing creeks, and it's great that you're going in depth about the gear your using and how you're using it, in addition to that fun footage of it all coming together on the water. Can't wait to give em a watch here as soon as I finish typing!

Hey John, I think I mentioned this before but maybe you missed it but anyway I do love the bubblegum lemon swirl but I have also found the bumblebee swirl equally effective here on Lake Cumberland. Maybe the water is a little more stained, I don’t know, but that color almost look like some sort of small snake or lizard in the water. So needless to say I use those two colors exclusively. So, love your show, watched every episode I think, and keep it up.
