This "ghost touch" issue has been reported by many. Steps to reproduce: 1) Start charging your phone 2) wait for a few minutes 3) try to use your phone (while charging)
since the first time I opened the box and tried to use my new moto g4 I've had those same touch issues, plugged or unplugged. It was a big letdown because the thing was brand NEW
Just turn off automatic brightness and lower it to 30%.
It has something to do with overheating. It works for me.

A real shame. Same issue here only not nearly as bad. It is happening far more regularly of late though.
