- I AM NOT AN EXPERT IN THIS SUBJECT!
This video is my attempt to provide value to others as they work to create and grow their social media channels. One of our goals as we post on social media like Instagram, TikTok, and CZcams is to grow our following and views. This is based on my observations as my Instagram channel grew 70K followers in the course of a year and my CZcams channel grew 10K followers in 5 months through primarily posting shorts. My page content changed throughout the year so that I posted less "finished products" and focused more on educating and skill growth for others in my area of woodworking. #growyourchannel #woodworking
Here are the links to the high performing and low performing videos as mentioned in my video. Differences between them show how the ones that provide value get better views than ones that are finished products or low value.

If there is interest I will do another video on how I edit my videos and what app I use.
Thanks for watching.
I loved it - makes perfect sense to me and I learned things that I can apply in my channel. I would love to see more! There are a ton of video editing and tips/tricks videos out there, but not a lot from folks who are dedicated to woodworking. I love that you are specialized in this way! Makes it more authentic to me than some kid sitting in a perfect lighting studio giving tips. I’ll stay tuned!
Thank you! I appreciate that! I hadn’t seen any either and thought this would be helpful and I’m glad to hear it is. Definitely weird for me putting my thoughts out like this. I’m going to do my editing one soon!
Great job! Would love to learn more tips and tricks, especially on choosing camera angles.
I’ll try to do some I thing soon!
Great video Logan, thanks for sharing your insights…very helpful and I have it saved for reference. 2023 goal is to up my content game.
Thank you! I’m glad it’s useful! Keep me posted!
Hi Logan, from one Newman to another, I love the wood working you do!!!
Thank you David! I appreciate that- I’m always trying to represent for the name! 😁🙌
@@NewmanSpecialsWoodwork You're doing a fine job of it IMHO!!
@@ShortStackJK2015 thanks brother! … maybe that should be “thanks cousin? “ 😂🙌🙌
Thanks for sharing! This was a very insightful video, and I would definitely watch more if you made them!
Thank you - I appreciate that. I’ll work on it!
Awesome content. Going to implement the advice.
Glad to help!!
Thanks for sharing your insights. I plan on focusing on my SM presence in 2023 and will need to take several of your recommendations into consideration. Getting myself to slow down while shooting the video and while editing is not natural for me and I will need more discipline. I would be interested in your editing process. Thanks again.
Thank you for letting me know! I really appreciate that! It does slow down your process to get the right shot, but it’s usually worth it in the end! I have to see if I can record myself editing. Thanks again
Thank you! The 3-4 second per clip tip is great. Do you feel overwhelmed posting on multiple platforms?
I do, but they are mostly the same video so it’s not terrible. It’s only really difficult when one video goes a little viral on one or more at the same time!
Thanks for s putting this together. Have you found a particular time for posting shorts that works well?
Honestly I have not paid a huge amount of attention to it. I think it has been better in the afternoon overall
Thanks for sharing!
Am interested in what you use for recording the videos as well as editing tips.
I actually record on my iPhone! I’ll have to do another one on editing. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing!
Glad to offer what help I can!
Lot of value in this video but I just subscribed because of a short (a first) talking about thinking to solve problems. I have been talking about that in some of my newer videos. Thanks for the 3 sec rule I have been wondering about that.
Thank you! I appreciate that. You know how it is on CZcams sometimes- you feel like you make a video for limited audience who doesn’t watch it! 😁 I’m glad you have found value here!
@@NewmanSpecialsWoodwork Totally! Its a lot of work all these video for so few views. I think I need to focus more on shorts. The battle for me is between appealing to a wider audience or the core woodworkers; Trending to the later.
@@Jasonsdesignshop shorts are definitely a value add, but it is so hard to monetize with them
@@Jasonsdesignshop shorts are definitely a value add, but it is so hard to monetize with them. On the other hand they have grown my YT from 78 followers to 15K
@@NewmanSpecialsWoodwork In one year? Not Bad! How many shorts a week on average were you posting?
