I have a time capsule 72 that I am in the process of stripping down to restore. I checked my fuel line to compare yours, and mine has a steel pipe that goes through the panel with a grommet. The steel pipe runs under the cover, the into the engine bay.

Thanks I thought it would have been set up like that. Easy correction once I track down the correct diameter pipe.
